Readran sat next to the fire and saw that he had a small gathering of people. Other than military his profession was that of telling stories. Narratives that span his life.
He leaned forward in his chair the crackle of the fire spiting out embers every other second. He gathered his thoughts and spoke. "Far to the West, over woodlands and rivers lies a area deadlier than the frozen cold of Skyrim, more unforgiving than Vvardenfell, a land whose protectors are so fierce that they share a name. The desert of Alik'r."
Readran's hands spoke with him they moved as they attempted to help tell the story. "It was one of my first missions with the Auridon Marines and my battlereeve got word of a weapons cache buried in the desert. These were not any ordinary weapons. They were Akaviri weapons."
"According to Urcelmo they were remnants of the Dragonguard of the Reman Dynasty. It was our job to retrieve the weapons before the covenant. At first I was dreading it because I hate sailing with a passion. But then..."
Readran clapped his hands and made a loud bang. "We were there. The local Mages guild lent us some help and made a portal to the old Blades ruin in the middle of the night. Wind Scour Temple. We were not prepared for what we found in there. The Blades had not been there in ages. We heard a thumping sound coming from below." Readran lightly stomped his feet.
"I heard a crash and all the lights went out. The Bosmer nightblade that was with us screamed but that was ended with a snap. He was right beside me. Then. Gone. Then the mage made the biggest mistake ever. She used a spell to make light."
"I thought they were only legends. A Tsaesci. An actual Akaviri. And we pissed it off."
Readran recounted that he found his bosmer friend laying headless on the floor. He used his arms to recreate what the beast did and what he did in response. "It was beautiful and terrifying. Using the light from the staff and the clean blade from my sword I managed to blind the monster. The two Templars hacked at it's limbs while I went for the head."
He made a chopping motion. "One. Two. Three! Three swings it took. But we killed it. The last Akaviri on this side of Nirn to my knowledge. We did not find any weapons the, blades must have moved them a long time ago." Readran reached into his pocket and pulled out a fang. "But I will never forget that day."
