A little envelope arrives for Haldir. Within it contains a little wrapped moon sugar candy and a letter with handwriting that was clearly trying its hardest to be legible.

Dear Haldir,

Hello, dear. Your Pa and I were talking and he was telling me how much you've been writing lately, so I asked him if I could send you something. I'm sure you've grown so much since I've seen you last. I'm sorry it's been so long. I'll try my best to come and visit. And don't tell your Pa, but I'll give you as much candy as you want. What sorts of sweets are your favorite? I'll have to stock up on them.

I heard you were a messenger for the Clan these days. I'm so proud to hear it. What else have you been up to?

I hope everything has been well. Remind your Pa to sleep now and again, I think he forgets.

Dear Auntie Elsy,

HALLO. Pa gave me your letter. I get to write to you now! Ohh, I want honey sweetrolls with nuts, moon sugar cookies, glazed sweetrolls and this thing Pa makes. It looks like a cake and its really good!! I can come visit you, Aunty Elsy, since I am a messenger boy for the Guard now! I have been doing rounds in the town and chasing away kitties that try to steal food. Its okay I give them some of Pa's food. I don't think he notices. Donny Pa makes me eat vegetables. Vegetables suck. I want sweet things. Can I have the sweet things when I come over next time?

I will take care of Pa once he is back from getting food at the market. Donny Pa and Korvos Uncle are always around so they also help with that.

Dear Haldir,

Hehe, I'll see what I can find, and ask your Pa what it is he makes. I didn't know he made desserts. I'll have to try some.

I would love for you to come and visit. There was a problem with a sickness that was spreading, but it's all better now, so you can come whenever you'd like. I'll be sure to have plenty of sweets for you. Maybe you can tell me about what it's like being a messenger boy. And you're doing rounds now too? My, Haldir, you're sure growing up so fast. Before I know it you're going to be a full-fledged guard!

It's very sweet of you to feed them like that. I'm sure they appreciate it.

I've never really had vegetables. I don't eat them. I have had a few from different places since I can't eat the ones that grow here, but they make me feel sick because my belly isn't used to them. But they make you grow really big. Maybe that's why I'm really tiny. So eat up, if you want to be tall like your Pa! And of course you can have sweet things. I'll have tons of sweet things for you.

Good, I'm glad he has people who love him and look out for him like you and they do. He forgets about himself sometimes.
