NEW COUNCIL: ADVISERS.

It has come to pass that our band of merry townsfolk need a new council, or at least a revamp of the current one. It was determined that since specific roles no longer make sense, they council would be composed of the Threethane and four advisers.

Treethane

2. Adviser
3. Adviser
4. Adviser

Now. We do not want to throw away past council members, as such I suggest they are placed either as an Adviser, or as simply a respected member such as an elder.

This is similar to the role of senior officer. Their vote matters, but they are not as active.
Would look as follows:

So we are in need of four Advisers. The most desirable requirements are as follows:

• IC should have reason to be
• Should be a respectable member of the town (Should not be a repeat offender of guild rules)
• MUST BE AN ACTIVE RPER
• Should be able to handle the responsibility (Is not a bleeder, does not already hold too many obligations IC, should not be a god modder )

The biggest by and large is that they are active. Not just online, but active in rp. We need a council that rpers see.
Along with that, they need to be a voice of reason to the Treethane. Diffrent personalties and alignments are welcome, but god modders are NOT.

My fellow Officers, please post your recommendations for players you feel would be best suited for this role below. Yes, you may post yourselves if you apply. WE NEED BODIES PEOPLE WE GOT EMPTY CHAIRS TO FILL.

A few I have found to get the ball rolling:

In my opinion, they need to be people who have actually done things for the town, and have legit been in the guild IC AND OOC for a good amount of time. Such as Bhi whose character, in my opinion, has never gotten any sort of position or reward for staying with the town so long, and one of the first guards. (like srsly)

Good points, however Bhi as a character also has caused a great deal of problems, especially while drunk.

While it would be good to reward those who have been here the longest, you can't forget the current needs of the guild, which is an active, objective council that makes decisions. This isn't a popularity contest or an OOC reward system for players, it is an IC job that must be done for RP reasons.

I'd like to make a case my own main, Eranor Bluewisp.

Currently serving under Menelin as the Division Chief of Enforcement, manning the tavern's food and alcohol sales, he's an active and productive member of Vulkwasten. Previously, before deployment, he held the position of Guard Captain after earning the rank within the guard by Trial against a number of other members. He is a loud voice within the town, often giving speech, advisement, and instruction in concern of important town matters. Eranor has been a part of Vulkwasten ever since before the move from Sren'ja, and historically, has only one minor case of unlawfulness during a bout with a Thalmor agent early on within his Guard career.

Edit: If elected, my intentions are to ebb away from Eranor working as a bar manager and focus solely on the Council and the Guard.

I think Elsy will bring it up with the current active council. Which is really just her, Ali, and Racuvar. I'll start a list of peeps to be considered as people list them.

I agree with Raccoon on that point, Bhi has definitely been a troublemaker, the times that he's around he's usually drinking and insulting people, and just being a general problem. On more than one occasion, Menelin's had to threaten to arrest him if he didn't leave the tavern because of his conduct in disturbing the peace.

I strongly suggest the decision of fresh active council not be made solely IC just among the current active council. We need to be wary of simply picking friends or people we like over people who would actually be a good fit.
That is my opinion anyway.

Raccoon's right, it's going to be a job, not just a title. I think everyone named so far has good potential and I'll just throw in my two cents, if I may...

My first suggestions:
Menelin - Guard Captain chosen by the council, so she should obviously be considered. OOCly, Mullet has other characters he RP's and sometimes being called on for the same character can burn you out.
Fedris - Guard, lawful aligned and makes mostly level headed decisions. He's stepped up a LOT during the last event in running some things. OOOly, Also rp's other characters so you'd have to factor in the time for all of them.
Afer - Guard, lawful as well. He makes a good argument for what he thinks should be done and steps up when needed.

More Suggestions:

Nalwyn - guard, was chosen to be Elsy's personal guard. Lawful and I don't think has been in any trouble. But again, OOCLY Ebon rps a LOT of characters, though he does have a good skill at rping more than one at one time.
Bhidul - former guard, former personal guard of Elsy's. Though he has been in trouble but he could possibly keep himself in line if he really wanted to be a part of the council.
Eranor - former GC, Guard (leader of a division). He would be a great fit, given his background BUT Badger...your time is stretched so thin already, dude! You also spoke to me about being Tavern Manager, which would give Eranor THREE jobs! XD You might want to re-think one or two of them first. I'd hate to see you burn yourself out on rp so fast.
Arimani - Would be a good fit since she's lawful and mostly good aligned, I believe. But she, also, RP's two other characters a lot and there's been OOC problems in the past that might need to be discussed first.
Find - My main concern here is that he's such a new member.
Lucrezia - I did offer Lu or Sty as a possible candidate IF seats were really needing to be filled since I'm online nearly every night. The only issue with Lu is that she's very neutral and well...bitchy.

So my suggestions out of all of them would be Afer, Menelin, Fedris and Nalwyn.

and that is if they even agreed to the job. It would be time consuming. People are always wanting to talk to a leader and as the guild gets more members, the job will get more demanding so it will need to be people that have the time and do not mind RPing a leadership role.

I volunteer as my main RP character as well.

As Wadiq posted about the guard stuff, Bhi has served from day one of the guard's creation in S'ren-Ja. He has been experienced in guardwork and military training ICly, and recently left about a few months ago because of his growing personal problems and has rejoined. Yes, though he has caused some problems as well (being drunk too), doesn't actually mean he has not or will not change or that other's characters aren't perfect either. He as well is serving in the Dominion's Navy as an officer and has handled many situations in his own way, and knows his capabilities in his jobs.

I would like to point out guys, that, as far as I know, Menelin was a part of the old council, before we reformed it just here.

Of course it wouldn't be made strictly ICly but there needs to be some IC deliberation as it is an IC structure. We'll make decisions based on both IC and OOC qualities.

I'd like to point out though, about people saying Bhi is just a troublemaker, he's stopped drinking and insulting others (who usually taunt him first) and is now sitting at wall and watching people now...

Can we not turn this into an argument about characters? Raccoon, Mullet, and whoever else that I don't remember because I don't want to have to reload the other page mobile, this is not a place to discuss what is wrong with a character and why they might not be suitable. Let whoever wishes to attempt at a council position do so. We will determine once we're at that phase who may be or may not be suitable and why. And Bhi I'm stopping the conversation there.

I would loelovelovlololvoloelvoleovleo Ali to be an adviser. I have so much fun doing ic business like this, and he is a very persuasive and clever little dork as most of you know >_>. Also, he would be very itchy not being up close and personal with town biz like that, as his wife is the Treethane and he's got that take-charge attitude.

Ali is already grandfathered into the council as a Rooted Councilman, as he was part of the old council.

Ah, I mean privately unlawful, evil, etc. As mentioned in the first post, they should have a clean and reputable record.

Yup, that's what I meant, thanks for catching that. I'm pretty sure Wadiq has a clean record, other than being unprofessional about approaching Fedris a while back.

Once we make this open for everyone in the guild to apply for their character for these positions, should we make it like an application? I mean, it is going to be an IC and OOC job of sorts. It's not like a reward or title to collect for their character so maybe it should be treated as such. Kind of like how our guild application and officer applications are.

It would probably be wise to ask what IC jobs their characters have and how much time the player has to RP this role (going to IC Council meetings, meeting with members of the town, listening to complaints/worries of the townspeople, and going to events as council member, in case one is needed.)

Obviously stuff comes up IRL and people can't make it to rp every night. But to avoid the problem you guys had before, of council members not showing up to meetings/events/rp, then we should try to make it known that this may be a time consuming position, especially at first.

I do want to point out, Wadiq, and this isn't to try and deter, but if Menelin spots any corruption in the council, she's going to put all the resources she can pull onto tracking down that corruption. Just a heads up, in case you do make the council, you're going to want to be selective over what Wadiq corrupts :P
