SPOOPY EVENT

This Friday Oct. 30th and Monday Nov. 2nd, we'll be having a short, spooky story for Halloween! I won't give too many details so that the story isn't spoiled, but we need some characters' more haunting memories for the event. Only one person will know these things ICly. Anyone else who reads what is posted in this thread, please keep knowledge of it OOC.

By posting your character's memory or memories here, you consent to our using it during the story, and agree to allowing a spirit haunt you briefly. No physical harm will come to any characters, and no one will die. The purpose of this spirit is just to give our characters a bit of a fright. If you would like more info on the story, contact me.

Thanks! <3

When Elsy was about 18, her father died to a dark mage. She found his corpse in the forest not too far from her childhood home.

She fled her home on the Isles where her mother was, and in the dead of night she arrived alone at her childhood home in Grahtwood, not far from Elden Root. She knew something was wrong, as a very real-feeling nightmare woke her and urged her to return to the Valen. She did not find her father inside, and so she wandered, wondering what had happened. She found his lifeless body in a small clearing in the deep woods surrounding her home.

Perhaps something could happen to Wadiq with his murdered wife, Ahzriji? Of course that's up to Raccoon seeing it was her character but still, just an idea.

Ali had an imperial wife whom he has six children with. She was traumatized badly by bandits and took her own life when he wasn't there.

Also, he was very very close with his older brother, whom was killed by wood orcs in front of him when he was very young.

Do both or pick, doesn't matter xD

Styletta's mother was physically and emotionally abusive to her since she was a child.

Lucrezia is still haunted by Ja'Amore's death and her long time friend getting killed in front of her. But she's most haunted right now by a certain evil dunmer, Rildoris, that kidnapped and tortured her for three days (*glares at Raccoon*).

I am ok with this, but Ahzriji was a tender hearted kitty. She wouldn't terrorize and would more likely be a skittish ghost.

Rildoris would love to know he still haunts her.

I likely won't be home in time for the event, but Hloriella is haunted by mostly the murder of her first love, the men she murdered along with of course her year spent with Rildoris.

Fedris is haunted by his fathers death and Avella's murder.

(This is gonna get pretty dark)

The Witchfinder is haunted by a young woman named Charlotte. She was the daughter of a rival noble family in Shornhelm. When Sebastian's father died, he inherited the steadily crumbling House of Grey. In his greed to revive his family's wealth he agreed to abduct Charlotte and sell her to a group of slavers willing to pay a high price. Although initially proud of himself for obtaining such wealth, the regret and shame began to tear away at him. Realizing what he had become in the depth of his greed, vanity, and cruelty, he tracked down the slavers to a small cove where Charlotte was being loaded onto a ship. After a fierce grapple with a lone sentry that left him with one bolt left to his crossbow, he made the painful decision to kill Charlotte rather than take on the overwhelming amount of armed guards there. This is perhaps the most cardinal of his sins that still haunts him to this day.

(I'll be available on November 2nd to do the event)

It may still be plausible for Ahz to do it, as it won't be Ahz. It'll be a spirit that uses people's memories to freak em out. c:

Thanks everyone for the memories!

There may be one memory specific to Gabriel Tharn that will definitely cause him to loose his stoic demeanor. About twenty or so odd years ago, then Praetor Tharn commanded a small dispatch from the Velastrian Cohort, Legio IV, during the annexation of Orcrest and surrounding territories in Elsweyr on behalf of Cyrodiilic Empire. At night, the legionaries had surrounded the Khajiiti encampment, believed to be a transit point for the local militia. It seemed odd, and somewhat excessive to take such measures against the town... But being a staunch loyalist, Gabriel did not question his orders to eradicate any and all resistance fighters, presumably seeking refuge within the walls of the village. After all, the reports from the scouting legion could not be wrong, no? Without hesitation, he ordered the archers and the battle mages to unleash hell on the unsuspecting town... The attack was a complete success, though something seemed to bother him. According to the reports there was at least two dozens of rebel militants within, yet his centuria met virtually no resistance. Disregarding his orders to move on and re-join the Legion at the siege of Orcrest, he entered the smoldering ruins of the town... And almost instantly he wished he did not. Among the charred bodies of the slain, majority were women and children - barely a man between them, capable of holding a blade. In blindly executing his order without question, he and his man had committed a heinous war crime of massacring a peaceful village, filled with refugees from the war-torn province. Horrified beyond belief, he rushed to confront his superiors - only to discover that the Legate was all too aware of it. The reports were falsified on purpose, to coerce the soldiers into this horrid act. Engaged, Gabriel drew his blade but was greeted with nothing but a cold laughter of Legate Tribonius, who taunted to strike him down. Gritting his teeth, the young Praetor left the tent, unable to brake his oath. Yet from day forth, the trust into the Empire and it's vision of Tamriel was shattered beyond repair...

*glances at Korvos* Uh. His entire childhood?

His father was physically abusive and violent to him, and Korvos had an immense amount of pressure on himself as a child to grow up in his father's shadow as the heir to his family. His mother was his refuge, and often protected him from Papa Sarethi, but she died from plague shortly after Donny was born. Before she died, she'd promised Korvos that she would get him to safety, somewhere far away from his father to continue his education. It didn't happen - she was called away to assist during an outbreak of the Knahaten Flu (she's a healer, guess where Donny gets it from), got contaminated and died.

For Donny, he was a vampire for five years. He may or may not have killed a couple people. They probably deserved it, but heh.

the event where Tzar lost most of his squad would be pretty traumatic for him-

In an attempt to kill an enemy captain during a Covenant surprise attack they were tricked and killed the wrong man. Tzar watched as two of his squad members were killed while he had to drag the last 2 to safety, unsure as to if they would survive or not. He hid from the fighting too shocked at what he had seen to continue fighting. By the time it was over, the only survivors of the entire force he fought with was himself and his 2 half dead squad members. He saw his former friends' corpses burnt and mutilated- and is still in the dark with if his squad survived or not.

It was a normal day for J'maaq, at 16 having worked hard with his father and brother on their moonsugar farm. One of the hired workers had gone missing. He was probably sleeping or left early. It was a hot day but the harvest was not yet early. J'maaq's father asked J'maaq to look for the missing worker. After 10 minutes of looking he found the worker's body. A crescent moon had been cut into his neck. A sudden horror dawned on J'maaq as he ran back to the farmhouse just as it exploded into flames. He couldn't go that way. He ran back into the fields only for the attackers to light them on fire too. He managed to escape into a clearing. There she is waiting. She has the severed head of J'maaq's father as a trophy and smiles from underneath a helmet made of bones. Funny that just the other day she seemed her usual self, the traitor. The attackers are revealed. Argonians, Nords and Dunmer surround J'maaq. The pact attacked. J'maaq is lost in the horror of his father's severed head as his mother sees him, laughs, and kicks him into the burning fields. J'maq gets up and runs, trying to escape. The moonsugar is now all on fire, spitting angrily as J'maaq tries to run past. A stray spurt of fire latches onto J'maaq's fur. Boiled moonsugar spurts into J'maaq's eyes. The fire surrounds him as he falls over, as if to die. His body starts to catch on fire and two lines of boiling moonsugar stream down from his eyes like tears as he collapses one final time in the fields, forever disfigured, forever scarred.

Question, will characters know they're experiencing the memory?
Also, will characters feel the pain from their memories? (Examples include mine)

The cat shares in parts of this memory, in the form of J'maaq's brother (He is J'maaq's brother transformed into a cat)

WARNING: DARK STORY LINE!!!!

Alena has no memory of her real family, but she has her dreams... Dark twisted dreams of howls splitting the air, screams of the dying, flashing teeth, and the smell of blood and smoke. Recently those dreams have changed to haunted images of Alena standing over the bodies of her son Mertek and her beloved Sebastian Grey, only now the blood is on her hands...and the smell of smoke is from torches in the hands of former friends...

Walking along the ashes of those who I had tormented, I see them still. Crying and writhing in pain, begging for it to stop. I feel my self split, between enjoying the torture and loathing it. The side of me that find joy in the pain of others is so deeply engrained in who I am that I can feel the call of pain at random. The need to inflict misery on others. This side of me, no matter how hard I try, always comes back. I feel as if something or someone else is controlling me and I am not but a spectator to the horrors I create. I'm weary of the killer within. I am terrified of when they decide to walk in the light anew.-K'y

Once, when Via was just a cub, it was a particularly hot and dry summer at her family's farm. One of the fields caught fire and Via was the first to notice and tried to put it out, but her tail caught fire and she spread the flame as she ran back home. She spent that night having her tail nursed while watching the crops finish burning.

More recently, Via was attacked and turned by a feeding vampire, and took her eye in the process. The scars still sting, especially during barometric changes, and when she starts to drift off to sleep she can swear she can still see with her left eye.
