Large, broad-shouldered and powerfully built, Rogin is a Nord’s Nord. Years of professional combat training and warfare have hardened his muscles and developed him into a mountain of a man. The shadows of battles long past crisscross his weathered frame with each scar having a tale of its own.
Personality
Generally speaking, Rogin is a very likable guy. When he befriends you, he is loyal to a fault. He is the first to run to the front line and sacrifices himself for any he is protecting. In his younger days, he loved to drink mead, flirt with the ladies and sing bawdy songs, but having a family seems to have driven away many of those attempts at hiding a deeper pain.
Rogin has a dark and moody side. After years of savage combat and watching his first wife die in his arms on the battlefield, he can slip into a moody, somber depression. These are dark times for the Nord, and he can often be found sitting in a tavern, drinking alone and staring into a fire. Since Ellix and then Rorik entered his life, those times seem to be few and far between, but at times…the shadows deepen around the Nord.
On the battlefield, he is fierce and unrelenting. Since falling in love with Ellix, the desire to sacrifice himself in glorious combat seems to have faded, but the old blood-thirsty Nord lives just below the surface of civility. In days past, his eyes would fill with an almost red hue of battle-lust, and there were times when he had difficulty distinguishing between friend and foe.

Background
Rogin served as a Captain in the garrison on Bleakrock Isle on the edge of Morrowind. He had risen through the ranks from a young lad but could not move past his position because of his inability and lack of desire to learn to read. While stationed at Bleakrock, he and his wife had a child, Briin. Briin was sent to an Abbey on the mainland at the age of 8 to learn the way of the Templar. Rogin and his wife Eggret, would see Briin once a year at Bleakrock and Rogin would occasionally stop by the Abbey when his work took him to the mainland. Rogin’s wife died when Briin was nine years old during a battle with pirates attempting to raid a small farm on the edge of the island. Rogin took her death hard and disappeared into a bottle for several years. It was during this time that the wife of the Commander of the Garrison at Bleakrock took advantage of Rogin’s grief and seduced him during a winter celebration. The affair lasted for several months before they were discovered.
Rogin fled Bleakrock Isle and attempted to disappear in the surrounding lands. Mercenaries and bounty hunters hounded Rogin for years tracking him across Tamriel. Leaving a trail of dead pursuers behind, he finally decided to flee to Auridon and disappear in the midst of the chaos of the war-torn lands.
Initially, Rogin worked as a sellsword, bounty hunter and, eventually as a bodyguard for a wealthy merchant. He learned the art of trading from the merchant and accrued a modest wealth. The merchant eventually died, leaving Rogin his wealth and leaving him to once again search for a new home. One of the trade locations that Rogin particularly felt an affinity with was a small town called Vulkwasten. He relocated there and became a tavern regular. He served the town in temporary roles when he felt like he was needed such as a blacksmith and for a time in the Town Guard. After many years apart, his daughter Briin, a woman grown at this point, reconnected with him briefly.
Rogin worked with the Black Gulls Mercenary Company for a time and found easy friends with Sern and Ellix. However, history seemed to repeat itself, and once again Rogin’s past caught up with him. Rogin left Vulk with bounty hunters on his trail and returned to serving on a merchant ship. Sometime later, Rogin bumped into Ellix in Skywatch, and as they say, the rest is history.
