Background: Decio's life growing up was a bit of a tragic one, losing his mother as birth, has indented a permanent mark on this mans soul in which can never be restored fully. His father, much like him was a drinker a very heavy one at that, however had a very kind spirit and always made sure Decio was clothed and fed, despite them being very poor growing up. Even with his kind father looking over him, Decio eventually turned to the darker side of life, and worked for a small band of thieves, they went from town to town and took whatever they pleased and for nearly 5 years, were never caught. That is until Decio turned the ripe age of 30, he was caught and the guard gave him a choice, be hung or turn in his what he considered "friends." Decio ended up turning them in and was the only one out of the group to have his life spared.
With a guilt stricken soul, he turned his back on his life of crime and to the only substance he felt could numb the betrayal in which he had bestowed upon his brethren, that which being alcohol. Decio settled in a small village and drank his sorrows away, he did odd jobs here and there, but mostly, I do mean "mostly" stayed away from the thievery department. But hey, thieves will be thieves.
After about a year of drowning himself in mead and whatever else he could get his hands on. He met Nialani, a local merchant, who was very kind and free spirited. She honestly made him begin to look at life in a different way, he was much happier around her, although the drinking didn't stop, he no longer felt dead inside, sparks of life began to grow. They wed and set out on adventures together, while Decio is sometimes a hard man to deal with, she never has given up on him or ever turned to look at another mate. She says its the sweetrolls, but he knows its because she loves him truly.
