Graphic depictions of torture, as well as mentions of rape. if that disturbs you then you best run m8.
Name: Methredhel Nightwood
Race: Bosmeri
Appearance:
Jet-black hair, often clean and soft, tied into a sloppy bun on the side of her head. Her eyes are as black as her hair, as are they slightly larger than average for a Bosmer. Though her ears are large, they are close to her head, marked by two prominent scars just inside of the shell.
Background:
Methredhel began a simple life in a simple town, secluded from most of Valenwood, and given free rein of the surrounding lands. The home she was born into, Vulkwasten, would soon be taken from her. Though she had a rather calm and monotonous childhood, she quickly found herself seeking adventure in far away lands, soon after she discovered her natural affinity towards agility and stealth.
The young Bosmer, no more than fifteen, fled Vulkwasten in the dead of night, making for a supply ship just off the beach. She'd heard it was traveling to Elsweyr.
She'd heard wrong.
The journey took days longer than expected, leaving her no choice but to dip into the food supplies of the ship at night, while the crew was asleep, so that she would not be caught. More than once, she had contemplated jumping ship and swimming to the nearest landmass, though repeatedly decided it would be best to wait.
Finally, her journey came to an end when the ship docked in no other than Morrowind. Initially disappointed, though thoroughly intrigued, she set foot on new land -- the Dunmer city of Davon's Watch. Eager to make a name for herself, Methredhel set off to find something to do.
She spent months in the Ashlands and the cities, desperately searching for work, until eventually she was forced to rely upon thievery. Her skills, at first, were imprecise and imperfect, though they quickly evolved into true skill, allowing her to expand her target list, as well as her self-defense mechanisms. Methredhel was becoming a true larcenist.
Of course, though, as with all greats, she had to fall at some time. For her, this fall came when she botched a pickpocketing she had been attempting on a member of the Temple. As was the protocol for thieves in the brutal, authoritarian Morrowind, she was beaten harshly and locked in a cell, eventually banished to Mournhold where she was to live out her days. This, however, is not what happened.
Methredhel was led to an out-of-the-way cave in the outskirts of Deshaan by her escort, who intended to teach her a lesson. Over the course of two days, the young Bosmer, now only nineteen years of age, was ruthlessly tortured, nearly drowned, nailed to a chair by her legs, knees, arms and ears, and left overnight. The next day, her captor returned under the guise of a rescuer, allowing her only a few moments of freedom before she was denied her hope and was hurt dearly for it. Upon her escape, she had endured more than any mortal should be able to, having endured rape and brutal torture, she drug herself out of the cave with a newfound friend, Comberry the Scrib, the only creature that would keep her going in the following days.
She did not make it far from the cave before she fell unconscious, fortunately to be found by a small tribe of peaceful Ashlanders, who nursed her to health. Her stay in the village was not long, however, as she was determined to escape Morrowind now at all costs. The price she had paid for adventuring had proved to be much too high, and she quickly found herself stowing away on the same ship that had brought her to Morrowind, hoping to return home.
This time, however, the ship was not carrying supplies. It was carrying an army. In the Ebonheart Pact's attempted incursion of Vulkwasten, the ship Methredhel had sailed upon carried the General and his forces. Unable to face the Dunmer again, and not at all cut out for a warzone, she hid away in a cave until well after the siege had been broken. With all the courage she could gather, she dragged herself to the town, still covered in caked blood and mud. Against all odds, she felt the tiniest glimmer of hope. She was finally home.
Personality
Due to her past experiences, Methredhel is extremely reserved and easily frightened. Any loud noises or sudden movements are likely to set her running back to the safety of her own bed. However, if one manages to break through her defensive walls, they will find a sweet and kind girl, willing to both talk and listen, to cry and comfort.
