Just thought i'd write up a thing for Scribe Officers (or anyone else for that matter) on how i'd go about speaking to Members about Factions~

1. Wait for Character sheets to be Approved. It makes it /much/ easier for faction leaders if all new members of their faction are 100% in the guild. It means they can keep track of who's in the faction better, don't make someone who ends up not staying in the guild a key point in a plot, and that they don't need to keep editing the list of their faction's members over and over. because people keep joining and then leaving

2. Start by asking what factions they were interested in. If they haven't read anything on the forums yet they will only know the categories (Mage, Fighter, Criminal, Civilian, Supernatural). From there it's our job to direct them to the best faction(s) for their character. In order to do that we'll need to know a bit about their character. Here is a list of what characters are best suited for each Sub-Faction.

The Flock:
Criminals who work best in organized groups rather than on their own should be directed to this faction if they either Smuggle items other than Skooma or other drugs, Work as a hired assassin, Steal via Breaking and Entering or organized attacks (attacking a merchant caravan for gold etc), or want to be a guard but not one for the town.

Blue Skooma Co: Any criminal who wants to work for a group involved with Skooma should be directed here (not the flock!)

Rogue Ne'er-do-wells:
Pretty self explanatory

Black Gull Mercenaries:
Mercenary type Characters and characters who earn gold for fighting targets or groups should be directed here. This faction is better suited to people willing to work in teams than on their own. Mage characters who are more battlemages over scholarly mages should be sent here, not to the Mages Guild

Fighters guild: Those willing to work as more hired Guard or Mercenaries with a more militarized atmosphere should be directed here over the Gulls.

The Lacombe Expeditionary Company:
This Faction is best suited for anyone who's character makes a living by exploring caves, dungeons etc or Merchants who sell artefacts and items found in these places. Medics can also work well here if a member wants to join a faction other than the Medic Faction.

Town Guard:
Self Explanatory

Mages Guild: Best suited for Scholars and Mages with an interest in learning over an interest in combat.

Civilian Factions:
Any character who works normal jobs (Tavern/Inn staff, Merchants, Stablemaster, Couriers etc) should be listed under the Supernatural Faction

Supernatural:
Any WW or Vampire should automatically be added as part of the Supernatural faction. They can be either a solo/rogue vamp/WW or part of a pack or Coven.

3.Once the Member has been directed to the appropriate faction(s) make sure to tell them the OOC and IC leader of said Faction aswell as Edit their note to say that they have been spoken to about factions and list which factions they have decided to join

Remember that members can join more than one faction (so long as they don't conflict) and to always keep a kind and helpful attitude! It always helps to know as much as possible about every faction the guild has so you can answer as many questions as possible without having to send the Member to someone else.

Thank you
