Personality
Roze is pretty outgoing. Her demeanor is hardened from her current objective. I would say business like. When she finds something that interests her she doesn't stop til she see the results she wants. You would normally find her writing recipes down or reading books about herbs and healing. She has a soft heart but doesn’t show pity for emotional problems, for she's not a very emotional person herself. She's soft spoken and tries to find the good in everything. When confronted with an insult she normally brushes it off, leaving fighting to the creatures and enemies. Roze hates discrimination of any kind.
Background
Born on a crop farm in Nebenay Basin, Rozene had a rather secluded life. Her father was a black smith for the town of Bravil. Usually he was gone for long periods of time, because of the demand and long commute, which left her to be raised mainly by her mother whom made her money as a healer for travelers and their animal companions alike. One day a group of traveler came onto their farm looking for some help with one of their companions. The Redgaurd eyes watered and most of the time was seen laying in her parents bed almost as if in a comma. The other travelers claimed to not have much of an appetite. Being the true stubborn soul she was she force fed them chicken broth until the Redgaurd seemed to act somewhat normal again. Her mother treated their rashes and sent them on their way with a jar of salve.
It wasn't long before her mother showed the same signs and symptoms as the Redgaurd. Roze soon sent a letter to her father about her concerns for her mother, but by the time he arrived home her mother was at her worst and her father only had enough time to say his good byes. Her mother died of the Knahaten Flu.
Her father was in deep grieving for what seemed like ages, but Roze turned her sorrow in to constructive action by studying her mothers notes on herbs and food. She spent months creating a cure for her father's depression often comforting him and willing him to move forward. Giving him homemade teas and created sauces on food that claimed would lift confidence and aided in relieving anxiety. She constantly, reassured him that she would be okay on her own if he went back to work. Eventually, she made a deal with her father that he would only go back to work if they sold the their home and moved to Bravil together. In the Spring of 2E 567, Roze and her father moved to Bravil where her father got his job back as blacksmith.
Upon her first day there she met plenty of friends. However, on the side lines, while she played with the other kids around the city, there was a dark-skinned, black haired Redgaurd boy. He would always be whittling away at a piece of wood, outside the woodworker stand seemingly oblivious to the other kids as they passed. Rozene always noticed him, and wonder why he didn't join with the other kids when they asked, but never engaged in conversation.
Five years, passed in a blur. Rozene found a well paying job as an assistant at the local alchemy store. There she would help the shop keeper who was also, the master alchemist, mix potions of all types. Potions for illness, moods, health and/or energy. On her down time she would walk into the Mages Guild and read about different combinations to make salves, and various potions herself, since she wasn't a loud to read the alchemist notes, he kept in his office.
It was on a normal day, where Roze had spent her morning grinding herbs and boiling water in the store in preparation of mixing the concoctions together later that day. The wood door creaked open, as it always did when someone walked in. “Roze?” She looked up the stairs where the alchemist's voice was heard. “Can you help that client for me please? I'm getting ready to head out on a house call.” The slim imperial man came down the stairs. His satchel at his hip,his horse's saddle pad in one arm and his backpack in the other. You'll be here for most of the day today, I fear, that Mrs. Xierison is fading into Arkay's arms.” He informed her as he pressed his foot down in his leather boots. “Oh, I'm sorry for the family then, she fought hard though, it's time for her to rest. Don't worry Miles. I''ve got everything under control.” She watched the Imperial walk out before she turned to the client that had walked in. “Can I help....” There towering over, her was a tanned skinned Redgaurd, blood pouring from gashes everywhere on his body. “Oh...” She finished, anxiety flushing through her system. As if on cue she dropped to the floor and starting grasping for bandages and salves. In a swift movement with these things in one arm she grabbed the cauterizing iron and dropped it in the fire.
A loud rumbling laugh echoed through the little store, Roze could feel it in her own chest. She turned slowly to him, watching as his chest bounced with joyous laughter. “Your laughing? How long have you been bleeding?” She walked back over to the counter to empty her arms of her supplies and walked around to inspect the mans wounds. The Redgaurd was so tall she had to almost stand up on her tip toes, to touch the gash in his right forearm. His laughter stopped and made a motion to move away, but watched her silently. “I was attacked by an animal last night. I need...well what your doing.”
She began stuffing the wound with linen. “It seems like you were attacked by a bear, Bretek” After the bleeding had been wiped away she started placing the salve on the wound, and sighed. “What happened? Did a rabid sabertiger evade your camp? A big sabertiger.” He looked at her watching as she wrapped up his forearm. “This is why I love you Roze. You don't panic, even at the sight of a barrel or more of blood. Always cool.” His massive, callused hand covered the side of her face. “Always calm.” She knew that he had something to tell her, he always professed his love for her first before he had to talk to her about something. It had been a pattern since their marriage. “Go sit, you buffoon so I can clean your face.”
Bretek laughed as he stumbled backward on to the chair. Roze followed him over with her supplies and started the same process on the cuts on his face. “It wasn't any of those things was it Bretek?” She looked into his brown eyes with a silent seriousness. He took in a deep breath and let it out his lips vibrating as all the air left his lungs before he met her gaze. “Oh come on, Roze don't do that, don't give me that look.” She moved to her leg where a abnormally large gash covered the majority of his massive thigh. She goes over to lock the store door and walks back to him pointing to his pants. “Take them off.” He looked at her smiling playfully. Roze sighed and put her hands on her hips twice dried blood covered her hands down to her wrists. He stood slowly un-notching his belt. “I didn't think you had it in you to do, such a thing in the workplace.” He said teasingly standing in his underwear.
She knelt down and cleaned his wound and quickly stepped behind the bar. “What was it Bretek?” Her voice demanding an answer. The feeling of fear rolling in her gut. The instinctive feeling, that something bad was going to happen soon. She grabbed the cauterizing iron in one hand and the gag in the other. She stepped around the counter again the iron glowing orange and yellow with excess heat. She threw the gag to him he caught the rectangular piece of wood with ease and bit down on it. He glared at her, as if refusing to answer her question. Still not breaking his eye contact he sat back down. His hands pressed his wound together. Roze rolled her eyes and took a breath. “I love you. Care about you. This is why I'm doing this.” She said as she placed the iron softly on his skin. The smell was putrid as it sizzled and and seared his skin. Roze kept the pressure even when his leg kicked out in front of him and the scream of obvious pain emitted from him.
She threw the iron to the side and continued to rub salve on the now intact burn. She wrapped it up in one quick motion. “It was a werewolf.” He said as she stood up. “I don't know if there is a cure.”
