Full Name, and Titles:

***

His Auriferous Excellence, Valasdil Niemahn Cerdryd Fiannoch Alyssanys Va Diefryd Va Deithwen Va Caomhain XIV, Kinlord of Va Aelyrna and The Lord-General of The 7th Dominion Army

***

Appearance:

Sigmund is noble, even by the unnecessarily steep Aldmeri standards. Thus, he bears all the traits of one. He is tall and stately, with long, silvery hair and arched eyebrows. His eyes are verdant, shining with the wisdom of the ages he
slogged through. He has an angular face apart from all this, and seldom tries to hide it from others. On his days in numerous battlefields, he has made a habit of shaving sparingly, and thus decided to permanently keep the semblance of a five o'clock shadow, as he believes it adds to his looks. He is seldom seen without his intricate plate, made of the finest metals to custom-fit his body, and his blade, hanging limply from it's jeweled sheathe

Background

2E 372-487

The mer who would become Sigmund Grief was born in Alinor, in the outskirts of The Crystal-like-Law. Being born into a noble house, his birth was prophecised, his life drawn and planned by his father decades before his birth. A deal was struck between the high nobles, and Sigmund was engaged to a certain aldmeri noblewoman of extreme import. Fate had other plans for young Sigmund, however, for she was residing in her summer palace in Elsewyr when the Khanaten flu emerged. She was amoung the countless who died when Elsewyr was quarantined, Thus leaving King Hidellith's plans in shambles. Desperate for his financial support,The Father of The Noblewoman offered his second prophecised daughter to remake the match, but before more marriage plans could be made, Sigmund ran away from home and joined the altmer Court of Meridia, a knightly organization dedicated to hunting down all creatures undead.High nobility seeked vengeance, however. By King Hidellith's orders, the Court got drafted into Cyrodiil to claim land with the Aldmeri army.

2E 487-513

The Court was a small order, barely compromised of fifty men. Yet they were given the harshest tasks, and the most dangerous ones, each and every single one of them explicitly ordered by The Aldmeri Council of War. Soon, others joined their division. Political adversaries of The King, pariahs and unwanted men, and those who had communed with Malignant Daedra formed the rest of their company. When the Knight-Divine of the Court took a Colovian arrow to the throat, The Council of War appointed Sigmund to replace him in the records, effectively becoming the commander of their rag-tag task force. He took the command gratefully, and went on to become (in)famous for his effectiveness in what little he could manage with a force as small as his. His Regiment quickly gained a reputation of unmitigated effectiveness, especially for tasks that required a low body count. Yet as his fame increased, so did his will to become even greater. In time, his tactics became brasher, more presumptuous and more daring. He began to undertake risks too grand for his small force, despite repeated warnings from his superiors. And one day, he paid for his impulsiveness dearly.
Sigmund’s Force of 125 men were ambushed by a Nibeneese Force several times their size, well-armed and well trained. His company was decimated to a man, with none surviving the onslaught but him. He was taken prisoner by the Nibeneese, and was kept captive in the fetid dungeons of Bruma for two years, getting tortured daily by guardsmen to reveal Aldmeri Intel. He did not, and as such, he was beaten even more severely. After two years of repeated torture, he finally got his chance to escape: His cell was warded for magic, yet the torture room was not. Thus, everytime he was taken from his cell to the room, a guardsman drew the wards with chalk around him, to prevent him from casting. On that fateful day, he drew a single line crooked, and Sigmund took notice. When his torturer came for the daily dose, Sigmund fried his face off, grabbed his blade, and half-snuck half-fought his way out of the military prisons, And dared an insurmountable march through the jerall mountains into southern Skyrim
Years later, when returned to Alinor, Sigmund would have an expert healer cover his bodily scars, for an astronomical price. No matter for him, so long as they were gone, and no sign of them remained.

2E 513-575

From Southern Skyrim, the first thing Sigmund would do was to go to Whiterun, where he knew he could find someplace to work. When he arrived in the city, the first thing he did was trying to join the companions. They rejected him, on the pretense that he was an elf. His morale did not waver though. He became a mercenary, running jobs for the Thanes of the city. This behavior drew the ire of the Companions, who had gotten used to being the lone wolf around town. They approached Sigmund, and warned him to cease “stealing their honor”. Thus, he dropped mercenary work, and became Castellan to an elderly Thane, Jeggi Snow-Beard. Jeggi was old and infirm, and had near to no enemies in the Jarl’s court. Thus, the banality of the job bored Sigmund, and he started running mercenary errands again. A week later, he was found lying in the forests surrounding the hold, torn and bleeding. A werewolf had attacked him, ravaging him to the edges of merethic capability to survive. Jeggi’s retainers found him and brought him into The Temple of Kynareth, and through weeks of care from the priests, he survived, and regained full control of his body once more. It was then he decided to leave for Summerset. Skyrim was too alien, too inhospitable for any elf, much less a noble from the finest Aldmeri stock. Boarding a ship from Dawnstar with the money he had made, Sigmund finally took the Journey to return home…

The Present

2E 575-

Returning to his ancestral homeland, Sigmund soon found a great many things had changed substantially: King Hidellith had died, his son preparing to take the throne. A mourning period ensued in Alinor, even in the Crystal-Like-Law. Then, he learned of the death of his father. He was not saddened, but rather in relief, for surely he would have rejected his rebellious son had he lived. With no one to object, He rode back to his ancestral estates, and claimed them one by one, rallying his father’s guard behind him. A war between the Sigmund and the cadet branches of House Caomhain ensued silently for five years, until none lived to oppose Sigmund from his family. It seemed, after five years of constant espionage, that he would finally find peace.
And it was just then that Ayrenn returned, to take her place upon the Crystal Tower.
The clashes between the nobility were ferocious, with some supporting Naemon, and the others supporting the Adventurer Queen. This Battle of hasty wits lasted short though. In a month, the entirety of the Loyalist Nobility had been eliminated from the political stage, either by slander and implications or by forced conscription into the newly formed Dominion army. Sigmund was of the second type, having been called to serve as the Knight-Captain of a Cavalry Division. He once again excelled at his job, keeping his egotistical and brash nature at a minimum in war. With his adopted utilitarian school of thought, Sigmund won a veritable number of skirmishes in the Imperial Hinterlands. On 582, by the official decree of Queen Ayrenn of Alinor, Valasdil Va Deithwen Va Caomhain XIV was promoted to the most illustrious rank of Lord-General, and given command of the 7th Aldmeri Army to lead into battle. He has so far stayed behind the lines, drawing maps and stratagem for his troops to follow and use. Disregarding several emergencies, he has not yet had the chance to fully lead his force into the fray, but will relish in another opportunity to do so.
Apart from his military endeavors, Sigmund’s personal life has shifted drastically as well. In the Town of Vulwasten, where he goes to escape the aldmeri pomp (It can be too much, even for one such as him) Sigmund met an aspirant mage, and the two had a brief affair before She left Sigmund for reasons of her own. He took to travelling after this, taking an extended leave form military to gather Yokudan tomes on swordfighting. More recently, he has revived an extinct order of Daedra Hunters, and will do anything in his power to keep them going.

Looks good, I just ask you to be careful of godmoding/overpoweredness with your character, as it seems he's got a lot of powerful background. So long as you remember that you cannot force actions onto other characters, or, for example, dodge every hit in a fight every single time, it should be fine. I should also note that Daedra worship is technically outlawed in town, though Azura/Merdia worshippers don't typically get reprimanded because those are the few Daedra considered to be "good." It's worth knowing though that there may be a few characters that might say something off or negative if he mentioned it, so be prepared.
