Synopsis:
“A string of unexplained and mysterious disappearances…” These words have been uttered many times over the years about Vulkwasten, by newspapers, town criers, and noblemen. For a time, it had stopped, the last headline came almost a year ago, a headline carrying only two names. Alloron and Belaelin Bluebrook. Only a month after, the searches stopped, the investigations halted, and the presses fell silent over the small, backwater town for a long time afterwards.
Now, though, these headlines have resurfaced. Many people seen happily around town have either disappeared, or resigned to their homes in fear. The most recently-arrived inhabitants cannot tell for the life of them what is happening, nor why. Their only clue are the headlines, the papers, and the whispers. All who lived in the town before them, and those before them, refuse to answer questions, nor even leave the safety of their locked doors and shuttered windows. As more and more vanish, this threat must be once-and-for-all silenced, before the brazen investigators and adventurers become the next targets--and the next victims.
OOC Information: [spoilers]
This plot will be a sort of hybrid mystery and combat. It seeks to uncover a mysterious force that has been responsible for multiple disappearances about the town intermittently since the town was founded. The plot aims to dig into the history of Vulkwasten--both good and bad, to solve the mystery and put an end to the disappearances.
Many things will be uncovered, many dark secrets. In the end, a few skirmishes with the masterminding force behind the kidnappings will culminate into an all-out battle for the town, though not before all the information has been uncovered through means of ancient artefacts, the words of ancient wisdom given by elder Spinners, and thorough excavations of the town’s most precious sites.

Event Schedule:
Event One
Once again, townspeople begin disappearing. Though it is treated as something new, something minor, something easily-solved, a plethora of uncovered papers and reports found in the old Treethane’s quarters say otherwise. The disappearances are revealed to have been going since the founding of the town, back to the records kept on slabs of stone. As there is no way to trace these events back to their sources, as no information is revealed by reports, the townspeople must speak with the elder members of the town, some of whom have been around for over a hundred years…
Event Two
With only a paper with odd markings and diagrams to go on, the town must track down the first and only lead given to them--the location of a ruin to which the first ever Treethane of Vulkwasten fled, in an apparent fit of madness. Though a light resistance is met by the traps and ancient defenders of the ruin, the body of the Treethane is found--and what could be a crucial clue in the case.
Event Three
Extensive research on the diagram given by a village elder places an origin sometime in the First Era, and likely long before Vulkwasten was founded. It is riddled with lost languages which are entirely impossible to decipher--all but one, distinctly Aylied, and only a single word was found. ‘Sapling’. Perhaps a lead, the town sets to deciphering what this word means, and what it could be referring to.
Event Four
Event Four:
With the stone located, the languages transcribed, further information of the surrounding area is revealed. Prominently, what is thought to be an ancient library is detailed, as is its location. Though sat upon by an unaware group of bandits, it is easily accessed. What is next, however, is not so easy.
