The black corridor was rank with the smell of fear. Three figures traveled through it, two dragging the one between them. The two dunmer struggled to keep the altmer from falling to the floor. He seemed to be injured and unresponsive. Finally, the small group came to a large ornate door. Two guards stood by each side with long halberds. They pushed it open without a word. A rather large hall loomed behind the doors. The dunmer duo dragged the tall altmer in. There was a chair in the middle of the hall, along with a tall desk facing it. At the desk there were many shadowy figures sitting, whispering to each other in the darkness upon seeing their captive. The duo strapped the altmer down to the chair, tightly. They had already relieved him of his weapons, along with the daggers hidden in his armor. One of them stepped forward, pulling altmer's long starlight hair up, making the altmer's beaten and bloody face more apparent to the mer at the table. More whispers. One of the mer raised a hand. He then indicated the two dunmer to go stand by the door. It was very quiet in the room, except for the flicker of the torches. There were more whispers amongst the shadowy figures until one spoke out.
"Delodil, is it? Well you were quite stupid to come here, all by yourself..." The mer put himself forward, looking down at the altmer before him. "Tell me, did you think you'd be able to silence us all?"
Elros was silent before looking up to observe. With the Vision he saw through the darkness at all the mer gathered before him. Everyone from his past in Morrowind, almost everyone, was here. A slow dark smile crept to his face.
"Yes, in fact. I did think I could kill you all." The altmer replied.
The discussion at the desk became a little heated like the buzz of bees. Then silence again. Another dunmer leaned forward. In a high pitched voice he spoke.
"Where is it? Where are those dossiers? Speak, n'wah."
"They are not here."
"You insolent little whelp! Do not forget that it was the Indorils who took you in, gave you a life, purpose after your oaf of a father died."
Elros shifted in the chair, still bound tightly. He looked up with a glare.
"I owe nothing to the Indorils. You all can go burn in Oblivion." He spat out.
The dunmer screeched. "Disgusting creature! You over there, you know what to do." He stabbed a finger at one of the guards by the door. The dunmer nodded and came over. From his pockets he withdrew satchel. Elros sneered.
"So you will torture me now? Did not see that coming." He chuckled as the dunmer took out a few knives of different shape.
"Shut your mouth." The dunmer held the knife to Elros's face. Without warning, the knife flashed, digging into the altmer's cheek. Elros winced but no sound came out from him.
"We will not ask again. Where are the dossiers?" Another mer from the desk called out to Elros.
After being quiet for a few more moments, Elros nodded. "Alright, I'll tell you." The figure at the table waved the dunmer guard away. "Talk. Tell us everything or he comes back with other implements."
It had been only less than an hour since Elros had launched his attack on the fortress with Lyna. He hoped that she had their means of escape laid out, ready to be used. Elros was bent over, looking at the floor, going over his plan in his mind. He then looked up at the figures at the table, the same dark smile creeping onto his face again.
"Ever since you Indorils took me in, you turned me into a tool. You used me to cut down your enemies, steal things from others, send messages. Most of all, you used me to strengthen yourselves. Isn't that right Varda?" He looked straight at the dunmer female up at the table. Elros saw through the silvery gaze of his that she was quite surprised.
"Well no more. It ends here today. No more will I cower under your authority. You do not make me afraid." Elros spat out the words with venom. His forearms started to ripple, white fur growing out. His eyes turned a stark red, his mouth slowly metamorphosing into a snout. His teeth turned sharper by the second. The restraints creaked, so did the chair. With a resounding crack, the bindings split apart, freeing the white wolf. Elros dropped on his fours, resembling a wolf more then its were cousin. He growled at the flabbergasted individuals at the desk. Behind him, the guards ran to him with their swords drawn. The wolf turned around, breaking into a sprint on all fours. With teeth flashing, Elros pounced on one of them, ripping out his throat. The guard's scream turned into a gurgle as he drowned in his own blood. A sword whistled through the air. Elros's sharpened hearing caught it and he jumped out the way before it come clattering down to the stone floor. The wolf growled and jumped at the dunmer guard, ripping into his armor and into his chest. Elros bit the guard numerous times. After snapping his neck, Elros threw the body aside with his paws. He turned his red gaze to the cowering dunmer behind the table. A few had drawn their weapons.
Elros grimaced as he turned back to his normal state. He stood there naked in the dark, without his armor and weapons. He put his arms out to his side in a defiant pose, a murderous expressions glaring out to those in the hall.
"Today, you will all die. Together. By my hands." He shouted. He then brought his hands together, casting the most powerful muffle spell he could muster. He took up the swords of the fallen guards. With that, he set out about killing everyone in the room.
The altmer panted. He held his side as he slid down the wall. There was a deep cut to his side where one of the mer had sliced him with their sword. His own weapons were thrown somewhere in the room. Elros took a few moments to catch his breath before stood up, pain lancing up his side. He went to the guards who had taken his things. He put on his breeches. Now came the part where he would have to fake his death. Elros reached into his bandolier and pulled out the heavy sheaf of scrolls he had carefully kept in there. He started setting the scrolls down on the boundaries of the hall. He made sure to place one on each dunmer that he had cut down. He was not going to let anyone identify these mer. He then chose one mer who was almost as tall as the altmer was. Elros then fitted his boots, bracers and other non essential things that he carried upon the dead body of this mer. He placed a a scroll on the dark ashen skin of the mer. He continued putting the scrolls everywhere until he reached his preferred window. He looked out to inspect his work.
The altmer reached into his bandolier to pull out a huge spool of string. He threw it into the air. The spool unraveled and gravitated to all of the scrolls in the hall, wherever they were. The magical thread attached itself to the scrolls. Elros then placed one more scroll down and placed the spool in its center. In a flash, they were adjoined as well. The altmer picked out one string and pulled it, taking out yet another scroll and attaching the string to it as well. As he was working on this, one of the mer stirred. Elros did not notice this. The dunmer grimaced in pain. He was heavily wounded. He glanced down at his arm where the scroll was glued to his skin. He examined it. His eyes went wide in terror as he looked at Elros. The dunmer calmed himself and tried standing on his feet. He ended up standing on his knees.
"Whiteblade...y-you fetcher...you t-tried get the best of us. BUT WE WON'T LET YOU LIVE!" The dunmer screamed. His hand burst into a ball of fire. The dunmer brought it up high with a maniacal laughter. "DIE, ALTMER SCUM." He brought his hand down on the scroll on his arm.
Elros turned his head when he heard the dunmer. His blank eyes grew big as he saw the dunmer's hand enveloped with flame, coming down upon the scroll. For these were fire rune scrolls, designed to create a large explosion. It would utterly destroy the body, leaving charred remains and burnt garments. It was the only way to leave all the bodies unidentifiable.
Time seemed to slow down drastically. Elros's eyes saw the dunmer's hand come down on the fire rune scroll, igniting it. There was a brilliant flash as the scroll detonated. The dunmer was gone in an instant, his last laugh etched upon his face. By this time Elros had already turned and was sprinting for the window.
Like a symphony, each scroll detonated, sending fire along the thread connecting them all. With each flash, the fire storm in the hall grew and grew until the flames were everywhere. The explosions started getting dangerously closer to Elros as he neared the windows. He prayed it didn't get to the window before he did. Alas, his timing was off just a little. As he was just about to crash through the window, the scroll beneath the window sill exploded.
A deafening explosion was heard with fire, debris and ash raining down on the fortress below. There was a gaping hole in the stonework of the hall, leaving it open. The wind blew in, keeping the fire going. No one had survived in that room.
