The 18th of First Seed -- Year 582 2E

T'is my second night in Vulkwasten. It's clear to me now that there is an orthodox portrayal of vampirism amongst the majority of those who I've come across. Within minutes of my arrival, I was threatened. That's understandable. I had some good ale, was kindly given a device which hides my vampirism, and got to know a fellow Khajiit who might I add, seems to have quite a dark past. I also met a rather serious member of the Fighter's Guild; I always assumed those people were wild barbarians who drank their brains out when they weren't off fighting monsters. Some odd stares came my way here and there by others because I was speaking somewhat loud about myself, but besides that, things are well. I cannot stand the need to disguise myself, but I understand why it needs to be done. Now, the real question is: Can the traditions in Vulkwasten be broken, or at least altered by a simple Khajiit such as myself? It would be ludicrous of me to assume that I can change the way vampires as a whole are seen. I mean really... We're bloodsuckers afterall...

Nevertheless, I'll see what I can find out. Maybe there is a way that I can be permitted to walk freely without the need to hide myself. I could just as easily move on to a new adventure, but something about this place fascinates me. My goal is to begin the process of amnesty, if there's one to be had that is; I believe I read somewhere that it's possible. My assumption is that I'll need to be apprehended in order for this case to commence. Now that I think of it, I should probably hold off on that and make a few friends to back my innocence. For now, I will continue to linger around the tavern because it seems to be the busiest.
