So I noticed it hasn't been mentioned yet on the forums (i don't think) but I'm really pumped to try ESL, a CCG (collectible Card Game) that renovates the idea of games like Hearthstone and Hex with things from Magic and their own new ideas and concepts. To most, the fact that it's like other games turns people away but I'm not really sure why since most of said people haven't played it and secondly because all videogames are comparable, so are card games.

If you know me, you may know I play a lot of Yu-Gi-Oh!, and I have played other card games like Hex, Magic: The Gathering, Naruto, And even some Pokemon ages ago. And with that, I've thought over the idea of a TES game based on tabletop games and always wanted a card game that used something stylistically like supplies, that have a set amount of uses (which is what I was hoping they'd bring to ESL) and ESL has shown use of that as well as an odd double lane feature, and health based runes that break when you take a certain amount of overall damage that give you a draw, and some cards that have effects when drawn this way.

Basically, what are your thoughts etc.? as in, thoughts, comments, ideas, insults, wishes/wants, desired number of ponies, favorite aspect, worst fear, suggestions, you get the point (Lists, a comma lovers favorite thing)

I do not like it. Actually I'd dare say I hate it.

The artwork is bland and very none-elderscrolls esq, and mechanic wise it is far, far too much like magic/hearthstone/every other fantasy card game.

It's mostly the artwork that ruffles meh jimmies though.

I've gotta agree on the artwork thing, I was hoping for more of a kirbride-esque look. You know, like his rendition of the everything in TES existence.

However, the fact that ESL is like most other card games but a little bit different and not an exact copy of a card game doesn't bother me. Card games will be like card games. I don't play hearthstone because it's too similar to Hex, but I do not have any dislike for that. Hearthstone and Hex are almost exactly like many lesser CCGs that already existed for a while(like Naruto) that use monsters and a few types of non monster cards with a regenerative growing mana of some sort, where you can attack directly if you wish or choose to attack certain monsters. It's the spin they put on it that makes it unique and playable, along with the whole elder scrolls lore part. If they made a card game where you didn't attack, could put cards on the field, didn't use a resource that you own to summon something and couldn't play with a single deck, but rather an upside-down pile of cards it would be different then every TCG/CCG/OCG, and also no one would play it because it would not have any fundamentals a CCG needs. But they could have done more to make it different then they have, who knows, maybe they did. I don't have beta access yet so I will have to see in the future.

Again though, I definitely agree. The art should be changed (hopefully since that's the consensus of the people new cards will shift the art style a little) Basically, I guess we'll have to see, but I deffinitely wish appearance wise the game looked better. I like what they've added to the normal fundamentals of CCGs though.

It's a cash grab, I'll be staying far far away from it even if i could play it.

It's just another plain card game with The Elder Scrolls Title. Its a waste of time and money in my opinion

Like Ane said, its a huge cash grab. Puting an Elder scrolls title on another card game to get more attention
