A note has come into your possession, written in penned daedric. It reads:
"Come, Fight, Win
One touched by curse Come spill blood among your brothers and sisters
Come in mask or do not come at all
Hide your face
Tell no soul
Spill no secrets
Or
Woe Upon You"

A small fading drawing of a map is present on the back...it looks like a map of Reapers March. An area is circled...an invitation?
{Non-supernaturals}
Must hear about it through the rumor mill of the town, or find the note on the corpse of a werewolf or vampire.
OOC:
Werewolves have a fierce need to hunt, it’s the very purpose of their curse. Of course we can’t exactly have wolves running through town and slaughtering people, the same goes of course for all bloodlines of vampires. So how does one roleplay some of the more violent bits of these cursed without breaking lore or major laws? What is one to do with all that pent up aggression IC?
Simple. We throw our cursed toons into a pit and let em fight for our amusement. In an arena.
We will be hosting supernatural fight nights in Thizzrini Arena in Reaper's March. Date and time TBA. You MUST wear a mask to attend. Anyone not wearing a mask will be turned away. Non-supernaturals can watch the fights, as long as they hear about it IC, and must wear masks along with the others. Non-supernaturals cannot fight.
Read the following for more info on secrecy, protection from IC monster hunters, and more.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where?
Thizzrini Arena in Reapers March.
But raccoon, isn’t that phased and such?
Yes but, shhh. There is a way to hop through the invisa-walls and get everyone inside without actually going into the pocket zone. (IE: We ain't using the front door.)
What’s to stop monster hunters from attacking the arena?
Nothing, only the secrecy of the group and masks. This allows for possible plots among other factions mixing with this one and ensures lore balance.There will however, be wardens present. These wardens serve to protect the fighter’s from the audience, and the audience from the fighters. Start a fight and you will be tossed out.
My toon is an average mortal baker/fighter/mage but I want to watch the fights! Can I go?
As long as they hear about it IC and abide by the mask rules, yes.
Can my mortal toon enter a match?
Absolutely not. If you want your mortal toon to fight in a similar arena setting, please check out the far less illegal Fight Night events. Similarly, if your toon is cured of vampirism or lycanthropy, you can not fight.
So, we are putting werewolves and vampires together. What if my character is then ratted out in town, or blackmailed?
Every single person must wear a mask. Full masks. You won’t be allowed into the arena without them, even to watch. That's right, you all get to be luchadores.
How is a werewolf supposed to wear a mask? How is a vampire supposed to bite in a mask?[/i]
Player X is a wolf. They walk into the area with a mask. Then enter the pit as a wolf. They do not transform when KO’d, instead they are pulled back into the loser backstage. Lore backs this up: Wolves don’t turn back when they die, there is little to suggest they do when knocked out as well. So, we are running with that. At no point would player X’s lovely people face be shown.
Player Y is a vampire and fighting in the arena. Tada, they get to wear a mask with an open mouth/jaw. Their exposed skin will be painted with ash. Hope they aren’t allergic!

Fight System
The fights will consist of two players, each with 3 hp. That means there is no set amount of turns to determine the winner, the fight continues until one of the players reach zero hp and is KOed.
The system we will be using is the XYZ system, or mixed strategy:
(If you have played pokemon or Rock Paper Scissors, you know how this works)
Players have three types of attacks they can choose
Attack {X} beats {Z}
Attack {Y} beats {X}
Attack {Z} Beats {Y}
{X} cancels out {X}
{Y} Cancels out {Y}
{Z} Cancels out {Z}
How this works in-game: Each player will whisper the DM which action they choose {X}{Y} or {Z}. Not their specific attack emote, just the letter. (as simple as humanly possible so no one can try and change their response later, argue their attack really meant something else, etc.)
Ex: PlayerOne: /whisper (I choose X)
{X}{Y} and {Z} Obviously would correlate to a kind of attack, such as {Upper body attack} {Lower body attack} {Midsection Attack}, etc. They would logically make sense in that {Upper body based attack} would lose against a {Lower body based attack} and so on.
Once the DM has been informed of player 1 and 2's choices via secret whisper, the DM signals them to both emote. It doesn't matter who ends up emoting first, because the outcome has already been fated via the DM. Meaning, they CAN NOT Switch their choice mid-late throw.
Only the DM knows who won before the emotes, no one else. It would be a surprise to everyone involved.
After the emotes, DM will state OOC the outcome in terms of {X} {Y} {Z} so everyone can understand it.
So using our letters instead of XYZ, we have:
The losing player will then emote out the outcome (How they got injured) and lose 1hp.
Rinse and repeat.
*Healing:
Options: Use your turn to patch yourself up. Kinda.
Vampires can use blood to heal or healing potions as appropriate. This results in +1 hp.
Werewolves can’t use healing potions, that’s just silly. They can however, use a howl to up their resolve and push through the fight. Mechanic wise, it’s the same, +1 hp.
Catch: You can only heal once during a fight.

(If you have played pokemon or Rock Paper Scissors, you know how this works)
Players have three types of attacks they can choose
{X} = Upper Body Attack
{Y} = Lower Body Attack
{Z} = Mid Section Attack
{Y} = Lower Body Attack
{Z} = Mid Section Attack
Attack {X} beats {Z}
Attack {Y} beats {X}
Attack {Z} Beats {Y}
{X} cancels out {X}

So using our letters instead of XYZ, we have:
{X} rock = U upper
{Y} paper = L lower
{Z} scissors = M mid
So
Player 1 chose {M} mid
Player 2 chose {L} lower
{M} > {L}
(Scissors beats Paper)
Player 1 hits player 2. Player 2 loses 1hp.
{Y} paper = L lower
{Z} scissors = M mid
So
Player 1 chose {M} mid
Player 2 chose {L} lower
{M} > {L}
(Scissors beats Paper)
Player 1 hits player 2. Player 2 loses 1hp.

Progression & Ranks:
These are subject to change and evolve with time as we see what works and what works better.For every 2 fights you win, you get 1 extra hp. Every three fights you win, you move up a rank.

Player Y wins two fights, their hp is now 4/4.
Player Y wins three fights. They are now Rank 1 with 4/4 hp.
This means a player with 4/4 hp can be put up against one with 3/3 hp. A slight advantage, a perk of experience, a sense of progression. At no point would a player be put up against another fighter with a difference of more than 1hp. That means, you won’t see 3/3 vs. 5/5 or 5/5 vs. 7/7.
Player Y wins three fights. They are now Rank 1 with 4/4 hp.

Ranks:
At Present, there are three true ranks, one beginner rank, and one champion rank. See below on how to progress through the ranks. All champions are awarded a fancy Helm of a style TBT. Even if they lose their rank, they keep this helm forever.

Base Rank, Rank 0: 3/3 hp. | Wins 0
Rank 1: Starts at 4/4 hp | Wins req. 3
Rank 2: Starts at 5/5 hp |Wins Req 6
Rank 3: Starts at 6/6 hp |Wins Req 9
Rank 1: Starts at 4/4 hp | Wins req. 3
Rank 2: Starts at 5/5 hp |Wins Req 6
Rank 3: Starts at 6/6 hp |Wins Req 9
(In order to advance to the Champion Rank, the current champion must be defeated. Defeated champions have a choice:
-Become a Mentor and hold their Champion rank, Opening up ability to fight other former champions for fun, but never those under that rank. This choice ensures that they can never be a holding champion again.
Or
-Walk in shame, resetting their rank back to 1 and health back to 4/4. Losing has shattered and rattled your toon’s confidence, but they can once again fight ranks 1-3 and try to progress to champion again. This choice gives the chance to once again be a holding champion. )
Champion Rank: Starts at 7/7 hp |Wins Req 12
Names:
Since all fighters will be secret, they need a proxy name. They may choose any nickname they want so long as it is not already taken and relatively lore-friendly. The Dark Knight is lore friendly enough. #420BlazeIt and 1337h4x0r are not.
A Secret Champion:
All identities are hidden, and unless you openly have your character reveal themselves, this means no one knows who the real fighters and champions are. Their only fame is through their proxy name and mask, whispered among those in hushed rumors.
