Rumors: The scholars (which you will find out about below) told him his scar is from Hermaeus Mora caressing Ja'Dariin's cheek in a show of affection towards the awakening of his mind. Coincidentally, this happened at the moment that changed his life. This is why he believes this to be true.

Likes: Games, especially ones that involve coin, campfires, walks through nature, eavesdropping and trespassing, stealing ( especially from immoral folk ), food containing honey, deep conversation, occult knowledge, alchemy, cooking/brewing, reading. And daggers...

Dislikes: Conformity, guards, extremely hot or cold weather, being the center of attention, ignorance...

Personality: Upon first meeting Ja'Dariin he comes off as shy, but he's more just humble and avoids talking too much. Still quite friendly, and even more once he opens up. Can be kind of unpredictable when he gets excited. His sense of humor is "tough." Most of the time he will fake the laugh, but his real laugh is distinguishable from the fake. Very laid back when on free time, if not thieving or crafting. He can go several minutes without speaking or moving much, as he's likely in a deep thought. Doesn't like surprises, and plans most things beforehand. He's always down for an adventure!

Background:
Ja'Dariin was born just a couple months after the Knahaten Flu, on the Second of Sun's Height (The Apprentice), 2E 560, in the outskirts of a town an hour east of Torval, Elsweyr. His mother and father, whose names he does not know, were farmers by hobby and fishermen by profession. Just a month or so after his birth, his mother and father were on a several day long fishing trip south of their home in Topal Bay, something they do twice a month, and on their returne home, they stopped through the Torval Marketplace to trade fish for necessities, like they always do. There, unknowingly, they caught the Knahaten Flu. At this time, Ja'Dariin was staying with his mother's brother just a stone's throw away from their home. A couple hours after leaving Torval, his parents decide to make camp for the night, due to it being late, as well as them suffering from the first symptoms of the Flu: fatigue. Again, unknowingly. The next day, upon waking late, they knew they were sick with something. By the time they reached the village, they felt worse, and their fear amplified once they saw some of the villagers out of their homes, lying on the ground, some presumably dead and some obviously suffering from some excruciating pain from within, bleeding from practically every orifice. Once they reached Ja'Dariin's Uncle's home, they shouted out to him in panic to come out, to let him know they have returned, and to ask what is happening. His uncle shouted back that he would not come out, that Ja'Dariin was safe, and it is unsafe outside. His parents and the uncle debated about seeing Ja'Dariin and about his safety, but after a long conversation and some arguing, all through the door, it was decided that Ja'Dariin stay with his uncle, after convincing the parents he was not ill.
Several days, possibly some weeks, went on before they opened the door and stepped outside. Once they did, they were ready to make a long trip to the north into the desert of central Elsweyr, and then east to Topal. This was an assumption that the sickness did not farewell in the desert. Fortunately, they met very few people on their travel, likely victims of the Flu. Once they reached Topal Bay, they planned to board a ferry boat that would drive up the river into central Cyrodiil, only to find out that adults may not take passage. The flu can take days to show definite symptoms in some people, and the ferry operators took no chances. Ja'Dariin went alone.

Only a couple months old, Ja'Dariin arrived in Cyrodil, where he was bought or adopted (he does not know the truth of this)by, fortunately, a Khajiit. He does not live with him for more than a couple years so he does not remember his name, but he does remember smells of spices and flavorful food, as well as memories of him standing over an alchemy table (he later realized it was an alchemy table). This is where Ja'Dariin developed a liking for cooking, and alchemy, although he is not a professional in either of them the least bit. He loves the smells. Living in Cyrodiil, this caretaker Khajiit had a much more Imperial-like mentality, he was uptight, mean, and strict. Several years later, when Ja'Dariin was about 6, he was caught stealing silverware, a book, and a small ornate candlestick holder. He was caught by the home owner, whom then reported him to the guards, whom then brought him home to tell his caretaker. His caretaker, furious at this "barbaric" behavior, grabbed the nearest book and smacked Ja'Dariin upside the head with it, swiped some spoons off the table and threw them at him, and then grabbed a candlestick of his own and hit him across the face with it, gashing his cheek open; all while screaming a lecture of maturity, morality, and conformity, at Ja'Dariin.

That night, Ja'Dariin packed up what he could, some things his, some not, and then left town. He followed the large river south of Imperial City. After an overnight camp, he awoke to find Khajiit caravaners nearby, whom he bargained with to take him to the boarder of Elsweyr. There he went west, arriving at Riverhold. He stayed there for several years, learning of his people's history, beliefs, and norms. He was mentored by several people in various fields of learning, all each for a short time. Religion, alchemy, and the art of the steal all fascinated him. Cooking interested him as well, but he was quite busy with the other things. Growing up alone in a new city, ill-disciplined without any guardians, he naturally and gradually learned how exciting and profitable stealing can be. This led him to learning self-defense, as it would be a good idea to be versed in if he got in with the wrong people. He became well-disciplined in thievery, having a good eye for when and where to strike, as well as what is worth taking. After a few run-ins with the wrong people, and nearly constant training, he became swift with his blades.

Ja'Dariin lived in in Riverhold for many years, from about the age of 6 to 19. He started to see life, people, and the world much differently. He finally heard about his parents and family, and their fate, though some may have been just rumors, which only troubled him more. He read much more often, and with more focus. He could more clearly see what he wanted and his path. He discovered knowledge about life, people, the world, and spirituality that most people do not know, nor wish to know. He became labeled as an outcast as he shared this "unwelcomed" knowledge with average people. The scholars who heard his whispers labeled him a "just heretic," eventually giving him the nickname: "Third-Eye." He accepted all these labels as he acquired them, realizing that he knows things the "outcast labelers" and average people do not. This is the reason Ja'Dariin is the quiet type, and "speak with meaning" type. He is very humble.

Four years have passed. Ja'Dariin "Third-Eye" Ak'nir has traveled across northern Elsweyr, learning stories of everything, from his land and history, to moon sugar and nightshade, to Masser and Secunda. He advanced his skills with the blade and shadows, and learned spellcasting. Searching for a way to ease or distract his mind of the horrors that have occurred throughout history, he stole, crafted, read, and met people. He strongly welcomes knowledge of any kind. But nobody understood him enough to satisfy him. Until he found the company of Blue Skooma. Whose diverse and vast collection of people accepted him with open arms. He found the joy in accepting life for what it is, and with good company it is a life worth living.

Approved 6/7/16.

I dunno how this sheet slipped under the wayside; I thought I approved it, but I guess I never did. ANYWHO. Interesting background. Ja'Dariin seems like he'd be quite the notable character.
