Ro'john joined the dominion army to gain fame for his family through victory at different battles he led his army in he has made a name for himself in the ranks of the dominion and wishes to do the same with the people of the dominion.

Our story starts with a Khajiit cub being born in elsywer to a Khajiit soldier and a Khajiit alchemist and trader.
They named their cub Ro'John giving them two kids, Ro'john and Ro'kyn his older brother.
The family returned to their plantation on the Roost and his Father went to fight land raiding pirates and bandits while his mother ran an alchemy store.
As Ro'John got older he followed close in his fathers footsteps going to a early training camp for the army and trained with sword maesters for a time.
At the age of 18 Ro'john enlisted in the dominion ranks times were hard for his family as their name was loosing steam since the dominion came into power over elsywer though they got through it Ro'john set out for fame in the army.
through the years Ro'john participated in many battles for the dominion against the ebonheart and daggerfall being wounded and rising through the ranks.
eventually he made the rank of General and made a name for himself among the ranks.
Now Ro'john leads the "Queens Talons" though now he seeks an advisor position in the dominion.

This looks very acceptable, if Ro'John is leading a faction though, we need to know more about it. Can you elaborate on what the Queens Talons are?
In addition, please note that we do not allow IC toons to know or work with the Queen or any named NPC directly or relatively closely.

"queens talons" is just the name of the army like back in the roman time the an army of athens might have named itself "Athenas mercy" with distinct generals thats all.

Ah I see. Unfortunately, while we can allow him to be of the General rank, he can't be leading an army as it is too much of an IC power imbalance.

Does Ro'john lead a company? If so, it may be more preferable for him to be at the rank of a captain or major to reflect this. A company is usually defined as a band of 80 to 150 members, and it's classified as a single unit of the war; instead, it is merely a unit consisting of smaller bands, led by a commanding officer that is usually classified as a Captain or Major.

Er, then again, I'm using actual Armed Forces logic. Still, though.

Even with him leading this many people, it would be ill-advised for him to lead an entire company, especially if you're going to be RPing with him in town often. A captain isn't going to leave his post five days out of the week to visit a town; there just aren't enough hours, and a captain needs to be there to lead his company.

Ultimately, I would imply something a lot less strict and lore-straining. Perhaps he was an overall well-rounded general that led a band of soldiers in the past, but perhaps retired. Otherwise, I wouldn't know a great way to classify him as "A military General that's actually never on the field." It just doesn't make sense for a military leader of such prowess to be in a backwater town five days out of the week.

i would just say to keep it easy he lead the "queens talons" in cryodill for years (since ive been gone for 2 years) and has retired to persue a career in military advicing and maybe even politics

To be fair, Sig, you're not on a whole lot to RP because of time zone constraints, so there isn't a ton of need to bat an eye in that regard in the first place. Even then, his "general superiority" shouldn't be something that'll earn him undying recognition in future publications. Modesty is the best policy.

Alright, RJ. Are the "Queen's Talons" a company, or specified, smaller platoon? If so, that'll work just fine. I'm not going to assess the actual Armed Forces ranks in comparison with this, since it's a different concept and such. In comparison, though, I'd just prefer he not hold the same status as a contemporary Lieutenant General or Four-Star General. For example, an LTG is expected to preside over anywhere from 20,000 to 45,000 soldiers at a given time, and is therefore likely to be named in history for military prowess. To keep the lore friendly, it would probably be more apt to have him named as a General in charge of a smaller band of soldiers, which would work just fine.

To put it simply: Ro'john is fine to be a general, as long as he's leading a considerably smaller band of soldiers instead of a mass force. There's a distinct difference between an army and a company.

Assuming the Talons are going to be a Company or Platoon, we can accept this.
