@Name: @Jhazirr

Name: Jha’zirr the Loyal
Age: 39
Race: Khajiit (Cathay)
Friends: Sigmund Grief
Enemies: None
Affiliations: The Dominion Army, Arné Deith

Flair:

Upon Jha’zirr’s broad face is a scar, gnarled and ugly, covering the entire length of his maw. It is an old scar, reminiscent of that one time when he failed to deliver a disgruntled Skooma peddler his pay. After his addition into the Kinsguard of a certain altmer, he has made it a habit to don the armor he was issued by the Kinlord: An elegant bundle of alabaster plate, crafted as standard Dominion issue to fit the improper body ratio of the Khajiit. On his belt is a curious armament: It is a Katana, though not of Akaviri Origins, but crafted based on Akaviri sketches by a contemporary smith. It seems he did a poor job imitating it…

Background:
Jha’zirr was born in 13’th of First Seed,545’th year of the Second Era, in a Baandari tent next to the city of Rimmen. He was thus born on a rainy Fredas. The birth of the cub was not expected for another week, so his parents, who were deeply superstitious, truly believed that the child was touched by Sheggorath, and decided to let the child perish by his own. As they left the city with their Caravan, they dropped his crib on the city gates, and along with it, an ,ivory amulet, bearing the holy symbol of S’rendarr The Runt. Mayhaps they thought the god would show mercy to the cub, or mayhaps they merely felt guilty for leaving a baby to a fate as cruel as that. No matter the reason, the said amulet is the only memento he has of his parents, and he treasures it deeply.

Fates, for once, smiled upon Jha’zirr. The grizzled shrine-keeper of the Tonenaka, The iconic Akaviri Shrine of Rimmen was having a morning walk at the outskirts, and noticed the Jha’khajiit wallowing in his crib. Pitying the boy, The shrine-keeper, known simply by the Honorific “Ri” raised the boy in the ancient Akaviri temple, teaching him of the clerical ways of Jone and Jode, along with The tales and heroics of the Figures of Akavir, whose statues were strewn across the dome of the shrine. And every night of his entire childhood, without skipping, Jha’zirr would go sit beneath a statue, belonging to some distant Akaviri Hero, and Ri would tell him their stories. Jha’zirr grew up, dreaming of these heroes, although knowing in his heart that the most he would get out of life would be to be the next Shrine-Keeper after Ri had passed away.

Ri, being a solitary betmer, pursued a hermit-like life, and urged Jha’zirr to follow him so. Because of the nature of his occupation, It was only on the Summer of 560, just months after he had come to an age, did he sneak out of the Tonenaka, and into the city. There he met Skooma, the worst of the maladies a khajiit may have the misfortune to be stricken with. His obsession with the opiate soon turned into full blown addiction, as he began to spend what stipend he could muster from Ri to buy the filth. His Master, though aware of his plight, did not intervene, for his love and affection toward Jha’zirr. It was only after Jha’zirr started stealing artefacts from the temple vaults to pay for his daily dose that Ri felt the urge to intervene, and even then, tentatively so. First, he tried to speak to the Jha’zirr gently, but the betmer in his delirium charged fiercely at the old hermit, thus forcing him to employ brute force to vacate the Jhazirr of his home of 15 years.

Desperate and broke, Jha’zirr for a time lived off of the heirlooms he had stolen from the temple. When his dealings with the peddlers got rough, he learned to defend himself. He joined a cartel, and started to make Skooma professionally. Then, his penchant for consuming the produce led him to be kicked out of the said cartel, barely avoiding death by being shanked in an alleyway. It was in these years that the Knahaten flu had started to spread around Elsweyr, and though it had not yet reached Rimmen, it still affected the trade routes from and to the city. Food shortages ensued and the prices soared astronomically. It was in these times when Jha’zirr took up to the occupation of smuggling, and allowed in unmarked crates the fruits and vegetables to pass, only to sell them in the market for cheap prices. There was a catch, of course: The fruits were rotten, the vegetables putrid. Jha’zirr had used the cheapest he could get to prey upon the society, and make a few drakes in the turn.
Rimmen was ripe for pogroms any moment though, and one night it happened: A group of bandits, envious of the possessions that lie within the Tonenaka, incited a revolt to breach the doors. The malnourished crowd tore Ri into pieces, raided the sanctuary, and left. Jha’zirr came back to the tonenaka one last time, to see the man who had raised him lie broken and dying. In his eyes was nothing more than spite for his prodigy, and he died so, the last thing in his eyes hate.

Jha’zirr was broken. He had lost everything he had long ago, yet he had just came to realize. Abandoning his dying homeland, he went for the nearest port-town, and boarded a ship for The Summerset. Arriving in Auridon, he travelled around the cities as a mer of all trades, serving both as a mercenary at times and things less amicable at others. When the new queen arrived in the shores of The Isles, he looked on at her with curious interest. When she announced integration in military, he was the first to sign up for deployment. When she declared the Dominion and marched into Cyrodiil, Jha’zirr followed his generals with fervour and passion. Unfortunately for him, his piss poor luck struck once more, as he was assigned to a certain Aldmeri Kinlord for servitude, in his Cavalry Division. His superior thought of him as a jolly old Khajiit, who bumbled about and made stupid jokes incessantly. For a part he was just so. Until one day when The Commander got his horse felled under him, trapping his foot under it. Among all the men who surrounded them both, it was only Jha’zirr that came to his aid. The Commander Knighted him on the spot once he recovered, both promoting him and granting him the title “The Loyal” for the courage and fidelity he had shown. The said commander would go on to get several promotions, dragging the Khajiit with him in every turn, until Jha’zirr became a member of the said Kinlord’s Kinsguard, a supreme honor to one of his former status. He now accompanies his Commander as a personal guard within many of his quests, with the personal goal of discovering who his parents are
Personality: On the outside, Jha’zirr looks like one’s typical jolly khajiit. He likes to tell jokes, tales and stories of all those Heroes he listened to as he grew. For this, he makes for a pleasant Fireside companion. Inside though, lies a broken khajiit, a betmer trying to heal the wounds he believes he has caused by his misdeeds upon the world. He is extremely somber when alone, thinking of his days and his masters. Sometimes, he wonders what became of the Temple, and sometimes, he doubts the resolve of the Altmer he follows. Though he would never state his concerns aloud. His loyalty to the man far outweighs any ideas he might get, at least for now.
