" Magister and fellow Councilman Miss Bethany,

On behalf of our Doyen miss Elsynia, I must report to you and your skilled students on a matter most vexing. Rumors among the villagers seem to suggest something is placing or using dead animals for a ritual. I am no mage, for all we know this could be nothing. The matter that does concern me however, is reports of strange symbols etched into some of the street stones. We are hoping yourself or one of your many talented mages would be able to identify or help make sense of it.

I've included a basic sketch of the symbol for your mages to study, but some of the actual carvings may still present in the roadstones.

Delivered trough the official Mages Guild communique, it bears a crimson seal of Daggerfall Chapter and a specific set of instructions, so as to be handed directly to Councilman Fedris at the earliest opportunity upon it's arrival...}

The events described in your latest communique present cause fo concern. Alas, at present I am unable to examine the situation personally due to my presence elswhere, yet I would suggest locating any remains our mysterious entity may had left behind. Any abnormality, be it ritualistic scarring or the life essence drain can point us tp the culprit, or at the very least - his possible goals.

As for the mysterios markings themselves... In the persiut of a personal research thesis, I came across several references to an obscure vampiric cult largely referenced as the 'Order'. While bearing only the passing similarities, we cannot rule out any possibility at present, not when a potential blood ritual may be involved. Trace as many of them down as possible, perchance there is a pattern to their placing. Should you discover more till my return, alert the Chapter personell immidiately.
