A Bosmeri holiday, the true name for which has been lost to time. Known today as “The Gift-Giving”, this celebration most often held in Midyear calls for the appreciation of Y'ffre's gift of the Bosmer form. It is by far the most vain of traditions. New tattoos, piercings, jewelry and clothing are traded, bought, sold and, above all, gifted to loved-ones. At its most spiritual, the exchange of gifts is representative of Y'ffre's gift to Bosmer; at its most commercial, it is simply an opportunity to invite foreign cosmetics businesses into Valenwood to make contacts and deals. Either way, no doubt The Gift-Giving is an old tradition with rich potential to boost morale, sense of community, the economy and maybe some self-esteem along the way.

Event Schedule

[tba] - Opening Speech and Story
Spinner Eradraedil will provide an opening speech, followed by a sit-down tale that reflects the spirit of the holiday.

[tba] - Communal Body-Painting
One lucky volunteer will be given the honor of being our canvas. Other celebrants will be welcome to paint upon the individual's body throughout the night, and we'll see just how colourful one person can get!

[tba] - Glow-Dance
A demonstration of a traditional Bosmeri dance. Dancers will be covered in glowing snail slime. Others are invited to join in on the dance floor after the demonstration is complete.

[tba] - Gift-Exchange
The peak of the celebration and most important event of the night: the gift-giving itself! A space will be set up in the center of the festival for people to present their gifts in front of the other celebrants. This action represents the sacred gift given to all Bosmer by our Storyteller.

IC Actions = IC Consequences
This pertains to Vampires and Werewolves as well. Any open and obvious Vampire or Werewolf activity will most certainly result in people trying to impale you with pitchforks; please, if you're not prepared to possibly get impaled, keep it on the down-low.

This is NOT a fertility festival. While it's fine for your character to interpret it as such if they are especially thick, please keep in mind that the hosting guild is not an 18+ guild. As per the ESO rules, no public ERP will be tolerated. And as per the IC consequences rule, disturbers of the festival may be escorted out of Karthdar by a stone-faced mer in bone armor.
