Dominion Herald - Defense Minister Calls For Dominion Cessation of War

On the 28th of Midyear, Tirdas, Dominion Defense Minister Menelin Bluebrook gave a speech publicly in Alinor, calling for the cessation of Dominion hostilities in the Heartlands. In her statement, she claimed that, "The Dominion is too focused on internal affairs and the line of succession to fund a legitimate war effort. We have already lost enough in the battlefield, there is no way we can win this war."

Bluebrook's statement curried a mixed response from her constituency, as well as other Ministers. While both those above and below her decried the statement as paranoid and defeatist, many civilians began lobbying for a withdraw from Cyrodiil, most notably the veterans of Cyrodiil and the families thereof. In an interview with a Dominion veteran by the name of Kaeedil Athlock, the retired Commander revealed his reasons for backing Bluebrook in her statements, "I fought in Cyrodiil for a good two years and I saw a lot of my soldiers die, only to be replaced with a fresh-faced lad that turned pincushion within the hour. If this were a war we could win, I would say we should avenge their deaths and show the other Alliances what-for, but we can't win this. Now we're just throwing lives away for the sake of pride.

On the other side, the Dominion Herald was able to procure an interview with one of Bluebrook's fellow Defense Ministers, who wishes to remain anonymous, "We are far too deep into this war to pull out. Recalling our forces would cause serious economic backlash--far more than it would take to see this war through. This is moralization at its finest."

This newfound movement may soon cause a political upheaval, should the Minister garner enough support. Only time will tell.
