The Blue Moons Traders

IC Leaders: @TaliaGravenblade (Talia), @Richyda (Maa)

OOC Leader: @Sweet_Roll_Thief (Elsy)

We welcome you to our humble fold. No matter your past, you can come here and make a life for yourself. We are crafters and artisans, managers and laborers. We are repenting thieves and former guards. We are all that makes us, but most importantly, we are merchants.

Welcome

Here at the Blue Moons Traders we like to welcome anyone and everyone who wants to partake in relaxed, In Character merchant work. We have several positions available for you to choose from to best fit your character's style. We also have some rules, naturally. We want to welcome shadier characters into the company and give them a chance, but of course if you get caught breaking town laws or company policy you will suffer the consequences.

Positions and Ranks

Below is our list of positions available for you to take on. Everyone in the faction may have up to two Primary Roles, but any number of Secondary Roles.

Supplier- A primary role. These people work in mines, on farms, or in other locations to provide materials or goods for the company to use. The labor force will primarily consist of NPCs, but players do have the option to join this role if it is their desire.

Crafter- A primary role to be divvied up into specializations. Crafters include those who specialize in one or more of the in-game tradeskills, such as smithing or alchemy. Specializations are considered a secondary role. Crafters may work in a shop, on a caravan, or in a firm in conjunction with a shop or caravan.

Artisan- A primary role to be divvied up into specializations. These people work as trade artists in ways not available in game. Such trades may include sculpting, painting, pottery, jewelry, or any number of crafts which produce tradable goods.Specializations are considered a secondary role.

Shopkeeper- A primary role. These people work in In Character shops located around Tamriel, advertise IC wares and goods, interact with IC customers, and act as a source of guild recruitment. They are ICly responsible for keeping a ledger containing all business dealings.

Caravaneer- A secondary role to denote a shopkeeper, crafter, or artisan who operates as a traveling caravan. Each caravan must have at least one shopkeeper and one crafter or artisan. At least one member of the caravan should be able to defend them to help deter criminals.

Manager- A secondary role and leadership rank to denote those who have worked their way up in the company. In addition to their normal role they are also responsible for helping to oversee shops and train others of their own role.

Co-Owner- A secondary role and leadership rank to denote those who oversee the entire company. In addition to their normal role they are responsible for the management and overseeing of the entire company. They hold communication with managers or with individual shops and caravans if a manager is not assigned to them.

Company Policies, IC and OOC

All members may choose up to two primary roles and may change their roles each week. Changes occur at each faction meeting. If a role change is requested, it will take effect during the upcoming faction meeting.

Should a shop or caravan choose to sell real, in-game goods they must do so at their own expense. Profits earned are the shop’s to keep, though a donation to the guild bank will be much appreciated as it will help bring in guild income.

Disciplinary action may be taken by a Co-Owner should it be discovered that an employee is dealing in illicit goods. The first offense will result in a warning and the employee’s name being written on a permanent watchlist. The second offense will result in a larger cut of company profits from the employee’s IC income. The third and final offense will result in employment termination. These actions will be taken if illicit trade is discovered by the company, and will be taken in conjunction with any local laws should the local guard be involved. These punishments are character based and will not result in a punishment on the character's player.

A player may have any number of characters in the faction, however they may not directly interact with each other.

Disciplinary actions may be requested by a manager if a co-owner is available. If a co-owner is not available then an incident report must be mailed to a co-owner.

[off the books ic rule] Should an employee wish to peddle skooma they may do so as long as a cut is given to the faction company. Should the peddler be caught selling skooma illegally the company has the right to deny involvement and issue a second or third offense disciplinary action depending on the severity of legal repercussions.

Events and Meetings

Daily faction business will occur at player discretion.

[weekly events] Faction events will involve transportation, interaction with non-game NPCs, and interaction with guild and non-guild RPers, including events such as but not limited to the transportation of valuable cargo and trade fairs in various cities. Off-duty town guards, mercenaries, and citizen volunteers are welcome to join as temporary private guards for added protection. A typical event may go as follows:
Three citizens, a town guard, and two artisans have joined the faction leaders to ship a large supply of armor to a nearby city. As the party travels the countryside they are ambushed by bandits. They choose to fight them off, but are overwhelmed by numbers and lose the crate of helmets. The order is nearly late; Do they attempt to track down the bandits or carry on to deliver the remaining cargo? The remainder of the event would be determined by the party’s actions.

[mini-events] As shops and caravans operate they may encounter problems such as a robbery. Such mini-events will be handled on a shop-by-shop basis. How the shop handles the events is up to them, however their choices may have an impact on their shop and the company at large. Should trouble befall a shop a Co-Owner will mail an OOC Letter of Notice to all members of said shop to set up the scenario. The shopkeep will then reply with an OOC Letter of Action stating what the shop will attempt to do to rectify the situation, and the Co-Owner will make a dice roll to determine their success. Finally, the Co-Owner who initiated the mini-event will conclude with an OOC Letter of Resolution, stating the shop’s success or failure based on the dice roll. The shopkeep may then choose to send their manager, if applicable, or a Co-Owner an IC letter regarding the problem they just experienced and its resolution, and may make reparation requests. The rate at which mini-events occur to shops is influenced by their location, the goods they sell, and how well guarded the shop or caravan is.

[meetings] Faction meetings will be held weekly to discuss matters involving but not limited to business success and failure in certain locations, caravan routes, changes in roles, and performing training.

@Sweet_Roll_Thief

I'd like to add Elsy as a crafter. She's ICly got some prowess as a clothier. She can work leather best but can also work with cloths.

I can also list Emia as a Shopkeeper if needed, though she's a fence, and a lot of her wares are acquired illegally. She wouldn't tell people that, and it may be lucrative for her to have an honest front, but I'm not sure if this works for you or not.

Also if you're up for it, I can probably draft a little logo-esque thing for this thread. I find those things enjoyable. >.>

Certainly, let me get her added.

Of course that works for us! As I'm sure you're already aware of, she'll just want to keep her "used wares" a bit subtle. I'll go ahead and get her added as well.

Maa has an idea for a logo. We'll talk more on Discord.

Dras'kay!!
Sarri would like to be:
Primary - Crafter (This can be OOC-when in practice- and IC for Blacksmithing)
Artisan - Jewelry, she finds that she likes to make pretty things with the metal and stones
Secondary - Caravaneer, have talked to Maadrul about this before, of being part of his caravan though not sure if he is still going to do that......she is looking into acquiring stuff to do this anyway.

Maa and I still plan on operating our shop as a caravan, you're welcome to join us.
