@Grinning_Warrior
Name: Tarthain Syrvadi
Race: Bosmer
Age: 89
Sex: Male
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Physical Appearance
Clad in buckskin trousers, a wool sash, and with a cowhide belt across his chest, this Bosmer retained the appearance of a Bosmeri tribal-type with his hair tied back in a crude topknot. Though tall for a male Bosmer, Tarthain stands only 5'8. With eyes of black, almond shaped and slanted, his face is indeed quite exotic. He is always seen with a short shadow of a beard, presumably as long as it can grow, with high cheek bones and a large nose. His build is lean erring more towards a lithe physique than one of shear bulk. He prides himself on his barbarism, and he rarely is found donning armor in favor of fighting and conducting himself bare-chested. From his neck to upper thighs, down his arms, he is covered in tribal iron-residue based tattoos depicting intricate spiral-designs and ornate knots; across his eyelids and from one side of the temple to the other, a similar solid blue tattoo runs. He truly believes these tattoos to be magic and that they shall protect him in combat. He is almost never seen without his bow, whether it be unstrung or not, and will often be found with a great-axe whose head is covered and bound with a crude hide stitched from various animals' pelts (or a longsword with a similarly shoddy sheathe). While generally a clean, inoffensive-smelling person, Tarthain will not object to going without proper hygiene for lengths while out campaigning in places like Cyrodiil or conducting guerrilla operations within Valenwood itself nor does getting dirty necessarily bother him.
Personality
Proud, devout to the Y'ffre's Green Pact, loyal, and courageous Tarthain displays many of the stereotypical traits of a Wood Elf brave. He zealously protects the trees and plants of Valenwood but is kind to guests. Yet to unwelcome guests, ungrateful guests, quarrelsome and law breaking guests, blasphemers, and certain types of criminals he can be harsh. While not xenophobic, he is superiorist in his view on Elves seeing them innately better by nature, though he highly regards Khajiit due to their current allegiance to the Aldmeri Dominion, to which he is patriotic towards. He's most certainly not scholarly and may potentially not even be literate as he flat out believes warriors do not read books. Due to poor influences in life, he partakes in skooma from time to time, brewed in a boiled broth from the blood of animals in-which the moon sugar is distilled.
Why is your character in Dominion territory? How did they get here?
Born into tribal Valenwood, Tarthain naturally falls into the Dominion's Sphere of Influence. He pledges loyalty to the Camoran Dynasty, who in turn serves the Dominion. Valenwood is his home and when he is outside of her ancient forests, he feels like he is away.
Background
Born into the Kraelot tribe, he was captured as a young boy during a clash of Mourning Wars between his birth-tribe and the Syrvadi. This was due to an accidental, but unjust slaying of a Syrvadi child during a Kraelot raid. As a result Tarthain grew up as a Syrvadi, with that tribe's outlook on life. When he was first brought into the Syrvadi tribe, he was thrown to the boys and girls of the tribe, who took turns beating him savagely 'til he could not walk. He was left in a spartan house and was fed little more than the scraps of every meal, such as the eyeballs and guts normally fed to the dogs. He was regularly tormented, many of the tribal villagers getting out their rage for the loss of young Laerin. In this time he was judged for his strength, and by a unanimous agreement by the Syrvadi elders, he was brought into their tribe as the replacement son to Enrulos and Nylethil. It was with the Syrvadi did he make his first sacrament to the Green Pact upon another humanoid, a Khajiit who wandered too closely into Valenwood before the Dominion brought their races together in unity.
He was raised to be a hunter-warrior of his tribe and would often join the adults, as an adolescent, in their raids upon other tribes in the Mourning Wars. He was always respectful of the traditions and scarcely had he need to execute any fellow Bosmer in these skirmish-campaigns. Though each event was indeed regretted and he paid his duties to the Spinners of his tribe and the opposite tribe. This was entirely his life until he was 53. That is when he met the skooma-swigging Altmer named Megul.
Long before the Aldmeri Dominion, Megul was an adventurer who was in Valenwood at the time. Tarthain saw this man trespassing in Valenwood nearby his village and could smell the skooma off of his body odor. He stalked Megul for days until the man lead him to a distillery deep in Valenwood. Quick to see this as an offense to the Green Pact and Valenwood, despite it not being a Bosmer reaping crops, he lunged from the shadows at Megul. Yet the High Elf was mighty beyond Tarthain's primitive understanding. He hurled a spear of magic through the Bosmer's torso and left him to bleed out on the outskirts of his operation. There Tarthain laid in agony for a week, refusing medicine and refusing to die. Perhaps impressed by Tarthain's resilience or far too high off of Skooma, he made a gamble and healed the berserk tribal warrior from the brink of death unto full vitality once more with restoration magic. His gamble worked, and Tarthain indeed vowed not to harm Megul in thanks for saving his life.
He soon became aware of just how wide the world was outside Valenwood by discussing things with Megul. It became apparent to the Bosmer that he had been living a sheltered life inside his sacred forests. He hungered for adventure. Upon returning to his village, he brought with him Megul and pledged to his tribesmen that he was off to pursue a life of adventure with his new companion. The two would then leave Reaper's March and venture forth across Cyrodiil. In this time Tarthain had taken up many professions, adjusting to each job as he went. Occasionally the two made it big, raking in lots of coins but eventually they would end up blowing all of their acquired wealth on fairly dumb investments, such as for Tarthain, buying and drinking ancient jagga. Indeed, through the twilight of his years he was still a skooma addict alongside Megul. Yet in the same light, he never lost sight of the Green Pact and indeed his devotion retained throughout it all.
After the foundation of the Admeri Dominion, Tarthain and Megul saw opportunity to be had in high Cyrodiilic adventure. Taking advantage of the ever-shifting Alliance Wars, Tarthain became a private marauder on behalf of the Aldmeri Dominion. Together the two elves were little more than raiders, picking apart at the already crippled Imperial provinces. From delving into Daedra-swarmed ruins, to creeping into opposition held-territory, these two began their most recent careers on the backs of strife. In time they came across an abandoned farm, in which they claimed and thus had started, since, an apple exporting business into Valenwood where non-Bosmeri might enjoy these fruits still. For a price. This business also served as a cover-up for their real operations, which was of course raiding, pillaging, and brewing skooma.
