Gloo is a maze of nasty scars. The worst ones are on his face. Specifically on the left side of his face. There are other scars, but the worst one stretches from under his eye and wraps down over his cheek, ending almost at his mouth. This is a deep and angry looking scar. This was gained the night he and some friends went up against a khajiiti family. His brother's lover was responsible for slicing up his face. - Away from that, his body is littered with scars. Past battles, scrapes with the law, fights with his brother, and hunting trips gone bad have scarred him up pretty badly. There's also scares on the top of his head, hidden by his stubble of hair. Though if one looks close enough, they are visible. These scares were gained via his mother's drunken outbursts.

Gloo... can be a decent guy. Though, to call him an entirely good guy would be a lie. Towards those he don't like, he can be incredibly crude, rude and even.. border on cruel. He's prone to violence and is no stranger to prison cells. Honestly, jail time does not scare him in the least.

Under that though, towards those he likes and honestly cares for, he's a sweet heart. He's loving and protective. To the point that he'd willingly give his own life for those he's close to, if it meant their safety. It's not something he'd willingly admit however. In most cases, he comes off as aloof, uninterested in most things and for the most part, unattached to people in general. And.. as mentioned further down, he's not the type to show the emotions he's feeling.

He comes off as cold and uncaring. But for those he cares for and loves, he has his own ways of showing it. Unlike his little brother, he's not exactly open about his feelings. Feelings are usually just kept to himself and not spoken about. He's not open about much of anything really. His thoughts, feelings, emotions.. They're all usually kept to himself. Emotions locked away and feelings bottled up. But make no mistake. Those he cares about, he does care a great deal.

He's brash and generally don't think things completely through. Especially when someone he cares about is in danger. He's the type that'll go barreling into something dangerous without much thought. He also... lacks a brain-to-mouth filter, saying exactly what's on his mind, exactly as he thought it up. Meaning whatever he has to say, it's coming out rather others want to hear it or not. He's extremely outspoken. On the other side, he can also be a real charmer and a bit of a ladies man. With that in mind, he does enjoy flirting with anyone he finds attractive.

There's also the matter of magic. Healing and restoration in general, he don't mind. And actually is thankful it's around. But other forms of magic, is a no go. Magic.. mostly... makes him very uneasy. And it's even worse when necromancy is brought up. Due to his family, and the secrets in it, he really hates necromancy. With a passion. He knows honestly nothing on magic and the various things it can do, and while this is his stubbornness talking, he'd prefer to keep it that way. What little he does know, is that magic is dangerous and, due to recent events, he now knows that soul gems are dangerous.

Gloo is also very dedicated to the Green Pact. He won't hurt someone for eating a berry.. But don't like people needlessly hurting the forest.. Such as cutting down trees. That sort of thing. Those that harm the forest in such ways, he will turn against. Plant life and things outside of the Valenwood, he don't really care. But the forest of the Valenwood, he does care. A great deal.

He was brought up to respect the forest and Y'ffre above all else. While he certainly won't admit it, he is a little superstitious. Especially due to his upbringing. Though in recent events, he's become..conflicted. Mainly due to things he's learned about his family. It's left him questioning his upbringing and the things he was taught.

Likes: Hunting | Sleeping | Fighting | Women - Especially other Bosmer | Flirting | Trouble | Rotmeth | The Forest | Bladed Weapons |

Dislikes: Snakes | Werewolves | Jail | The Law / Authority Figures | Cold Weather | Drinking to get Drunk

Strengths: Speaks Many Languages | Knows how to spot a werwolf |Excellent Tracker / Hunter | Can hold his own | Charming when need be | Not afraid to get his hands dirty | Versed in insults

Weaknesses: Women | Severe Trust Issues | Attitude - He's cold, aloof and for the most part, just don't seem to care. Even whe he actually does. | Can be difficult to get along with | Werewolves - He *hates* werewolves | Green Pact - Very loyal to it | Pride | Tends to give off mixed signals - though doesn't mean to | Temper

Gloo can be extremely arrogant and hot headed. But under it, those he gets close to, as said, he does care. He's loyal and loving. The loving part may not be shown out right. But under his attitude, he does care. He's just no good at showing his emotions. Though he does try.

- Please Note: Due to the spoilers of Glooras' family, the family section has been placed in a large spoiler tag. Read at your own risk!

Spoiler Heavy Family Things
Loril Matoto: Loril is Gloo's mother. She was once a talented seamstress. But is now just a slobbering alcoholic, that spends her days sleeping around and drinking herself into a stupor. Her personality boarders on abusive most days. Though her whereabouts are unknown. And Gloo believes she is dead. Due to reports he got from contacts.

Baerlos Matoto: Baerlos is Gloo's father. He was once a hunter for the town of Silvenar. A loving father.. to a degree. At least that is what was on the surface. What was shown to his family. Under it though, he had a secret life. He was a murderer. Was responsible for various kidnappings around Malabal Tor, and the murders of those that went missing. He also had an affair on his wife. Even responsible for the murder of his wife's brother. Baerlos died however trying to get Loril out of the Valenwood. She survived, he wasn't so lucky.

Callio Matoto: Callio is Gloo's younger brother. There is no love loss between the brothers. Due to past events, Gloo views Callio as a traitor that needed to be put down. He attempted to turn his brother over to the Tree Thane. It didn't go well. Thngs in fact boiled out of control, and there was a lot of blood shed. Due to how things happened, and Callio's sudden disappearance after it all, Gloo believes his brother to be dead. Which is just fine, as far as he's concerned.

Trien Forestthorn: Loril's older brother. He was a talented healer, and a very kind and caring man. Murdered at the hands of Baerlos, and framed for necromancy.

Nivrchel Roselake: Nivrchel was adopted some several years ago by Glooras, despite their parents wishes. Gloo took her in, and attempted to raise her in a sense. Due to things in his past however, that did not go smoothly. There was betrayal, and a lot of bloodshed. He now believes his adopted sister to be dead.

His Past - Spoiler Heavy!

12th of Evening Star - The first born child to the Matoto family would be welcomed into the world. He came into the world as silent as a star. Though he was a very alert baby. He'd grab at anything he could get his hands on before he was given to his mother. Once in his mother's arms, he'd grab her hair and just lay quietly. Together, his parents would name him Glooras Urulos. And he'd gain the family's last name of Matoto. His father was a hunter, and his mother a drunk and a seamstress..Though mostly a drunk. His father was named Baerlos and his mother was named Loril.

From the beginning, he was taught to respect the forest and his surroundings. Taught to show love to the Valenwood. Raised as most Bosmer children are. He wasn't exactly a spoiled child, but he never went without. He was five when life changed. His mother's health declined as she progressed through her second pregnancy. She was lucky when she gave birth to Gloo's younger brother. Both pulled through. And he'd gain a younger brother.. Callio.

He tried to get along with his brother. But when it became apparent that his brother was sickly and weak, Gloo had mixed feelings towards his brother. He cared.. But.. when it became apparent that his parents no longer had time for him, Gloo would develop a hatred for his brother. Too young to understand that it wasn't his brother he should have been angry with.. As he grew, this hatred would only deepen, as would a bitterness towards his parents when he was constantly shoved aside. And in time, neglected.

It was a mixture of jealousy towards his brother, but more so.. anger towards his parents.

His childhood from here became competing with his brother for the affections of his family. Though in time, he would steadily just quit trying. A wedge would form between the brothers. It wasn't a deep wedge, but it was there just the same. When his brother was old enough to play with the village children, he and his brother would try to get along. Gloo would go out of his way to try and make sure his brother was safe though. At least.. he tried.

Growing up, when his mother would turn towards cruelty in her drunken rampages, he'd go to stay with his uncle. He knew his uncle was a mage. But that was it. Trien was the brother to Gloo's Mother.. Uncle Trien was one of the very few positive influences for Gloo. While the boy had no talent with magic, his uncle would still attempt to teach him little things. And would often play games with Gloo. Trien was Gloo's favorite uncle.

Though, Gloo was eight when his uncle was murdered. His uncle was framed for necromancy. Too little to understand, he believed his father, when his father came home and told him and his mother that Trien had planned to kill Callio in a necromantic ritual. His father told him not to worry. Told Gloo and his mother than the necromancer had been silenced, via slitting his throat. Said he did to protect the family.

Truth About His Father(Baerlos) & Uncle Trien
In truth, Baerlos had simply beat the living shit out of Trien, before stabbing him several times. The reason for the murder, was that he found out Trien had spied on him. Baerlos was seen cheating on Loril, with a woman in Tanglehaven. Trien had been there on business when it was seen. When Baerlos showed up, the night of the murder, Trien had attempted to confront him. Telling him what he was doing was wrong. Tried to convince Baerlos to leave the other woman. Trien threatened Baerlos with taking what he knew to Loril, if he did not do this. Not wanting to see his sister be hurt. Baerlos reacted by attacking Trien, leaving.. And then murdering him the following day.

A note was slipped into Trien's hand that said 'I'm sorry it's come to this.' While Trien lay bleeding out on the floor, Baerlos would burn the pod and a large section around the pod, to the ground. While it burned, Baerlos had left

After the things with Trien, Gloo's father would often threaten Gloo. Telling him if he didn't straighten up, he'd become just like Trien. Telling Gloo that his uncle had been trouble and that if he didn't stop, he'd become just like him.

He was fifteen when he met Nivrchel. An orphan girl. He.. took pity on the twelve year old. And would take her under his wing. In time, he'd introduce her to his own friends. Thinking he was doing something that'd help her out, so she wasn't so alone.

When he wasn't with his brother, he'd be found with these friends. Sometimes, he'd hang out with people his own age. The kids he choose to hang out with however were thuggish at best. This group would take on the name The Shadows by the time he was seventeen. Of those in the group, Gloo would fall in love.. with a girl that was a year older than himself.. Enter Kirsrin. He adored her. But she never returned the sentiment. Though was more than happy to use him for sex.

When he was with Callio, the would often find mischief together, as brothers often do. For the first time, the brothers would really seem to be growing close. They had found common ground, and with it, a friendship. Though things always find a way to change. Such was the case when a Khajiiti family moved into the area, part of a Baanadari group. Suddenly, his brother no longer was willing to find mischief with him. His brother seemed.. distracted. Gloo was understanding at first.

Two weeks after the arrival of the khajiiti family, his brother would stop hanging out with him entirely. Callio became focused on hanging out with a very specific khajiit. One that was Callio's age. It didn't take Gloo long to notice that his brother seemed to be falling hard for the khajiit. Which wouldn't have been a problem later, had he not witnessed one of the khajiit's destroying parts of the forest. His views after seeing this, would come to see the khajiit's as intruders on the forest. Though Callio did not share this view. The wedge would once more form.

There were times where the brothers would out right scream and fued. Other times, where Gloo made threatening remarks about eating the intruders. Meat mandate.. Things like that. This gave way to the brothers often fighting to the point that they had to be pulled apart. Other times, actually drawing blood on each other.

While Callio fell for the khajiit, Gloo began to spend his time stalking the khajiit family. Wishing to learn all he could on them. Always out of sight. Careful to never be seen. It was when Callio made it known to Gloo, that Callio planned to ask the khajiit to marry him, that things really burst out of control. Glooras urged Callio to reconsider his ideas. Pleaded with him to open his eyes and see that the khajiits were destructive. When Callio refused to listen to him, Gloo would resort to calling the khajiits.. hairballs. It didn't end well. Callio reacted by punching Glooras in the mouth, hard enough to bust his lip open.

The wedge now would seriously deepen. They fought nonstop whenever they had to in the same room. Often times it'd go from verbal arguements to physical very quickly. He'd begin to really push at his brother. This in turn, would cause Callio's health to lapse.. Seriously sickening Callio. Due to his brother's condition, Callio became bound to the tree-pod. Forbidden to leave by their parents.

Glooras didn't seem to care. He had his own tree-pod. He was of age to be off on his own. His brother was still a teenager. The night that his brother was demanded to remain inside, would mark the beginning of several things.. Several.. unpleasant things.

His brother would run away from home. He was gone for almost two months. Search parties were sent out, but none could find him. Gloo was in those search parties. He did try to find his brother. While he wouldn't admit it, he did worry for him. Gloo placed the blame squarely on the shoulders of the khajiits. It was two months later, when his brother returned that things really changed. Gloo was twenty at the time, his brother fifteen.

Gloo had tried to find his brother. Failed. He was offered a job, smuggling Skooma. He accepted the job. He'd be home all of an hour when his brother returned home.

Callio would announce his change. Glooras had been over that night, spending time with his parents when his brother strode in and announced it. His parents were... somewhat understanding for the reasons behind it. And would agree to hide this from the treethane. Glooras, wasn't as understanding. He threatened Callio. Telling him if he didn't find a way to be cleansed, he'd turn him over to the Treethane. Callio refused. Because of this, while their parents slept, Glooras would kidnap him from their parents tree-pod. Taking him to his own tree-pod. He'd tie Callio down to a chair. Telling him that he'd turn him over to the Treethane in the morning, to await judgement. As he had broken the Green Pact.

Callio was left in a dark room after that. Glooras however didn't stop there. He had planned to confront the khajiits that his brother had been hanging around. Only to discover that they were werewolves... He could have gone to the guards with this... but... He would instead gather several of his friends. With Gloo's help, they'd drive the khajiiti family from the area. But not before a fight broke out between Gloo and Callio's lover.

Callio's lover would slice Gloo in various places with his claws. But the worst place where he had been sliced, would be his face. Receiving bad wounds to the left side of his face, above both eyes, over the right side of his mouth - over his lips and a nasty cut across the bottom of his chin. Gloo reacted by beating the ever living daylights out of the khajiit. Gloo was knocked backwards after that, a dagger stuck into his chest. He was lucky to survive it. The khajiit he had fought on the other hand.. His wounds were worse. The khaiit had stumbled off, bleeding heavily. Leaving Gloo where he was. Callio was freed, and the khajiit would die.

Gloo would wake in the morning, in the clinic. No one would tell anyone what had transpired. Gloo and friends were tight lipped on the entire thing. He'd wake to find out that his brother was missing and there was a dead khajiit. Gloo would simply say it was self defense. As for his brother, he didn't know where he was. Because no one would talk about it, was soon dropped.

After he was well enough, Glooras would dedicate his life to learning about werewolves. Even leaving Valenwood for a time. He'd take to hunting them on the side. Viewing werewolves as vile. Though in time, his parents would be sentenced to life in prison for harboring Callio, while knowing that their son was a werewolf. His parents would run away, fleeing the Valenwood before they could be imprisoned. No one would know exactly where his parents went.

Though werewolves weren't the only thing that would take Gloo's attention. He'd get mixed up in various things. Of those, were often things that lead him to sitting in jail a time or two. He'd work as a mercenary when he could. Other times, he'd steal and just cause trouble if he felt like it. He'd even take on small assassination contracts. If it paid well, he'd take the offer.

He'd venture all over. The group he served, growing in number. Though serving only lasted until he was twenty one. He left after that.. Seeking other things. Which is when he turned to hunting werewolves and various other jobs.

He was twenty five when he returned. Not because he wanted to, but because a friend had contacted him.. Begging him to return. Unable to ignore the plea, he did as requested. Only to get tangled in a trap. The leader of The Shadows, Kirsrin, would spring it on him and attempt to have him killed. It failed when Nivrchel jumped in front of a blow meant for him. Believing that Nivrchel had died, Gloo would go on a rampage and badly wound Kirsrin. When Kirsrin retreated, Gloo turned to gather Niv's body.. Only to discover that someone had made off with it. Gloo left after that.. Badly wounded, himself.

Kirsrin was later hunted down in an act of vengeance. Gloo would slit her throat before carving a spider into her corpse. Labeling her as how he had viewed her. As a spider, luring people to their dooms. He'd turn his focus after that.. Deciding to turn his focus on different things.. He'd return to hunting werewolves after that. And return to mercenary contracts. And of course, stealing.

Skipping ahead to current day, Glooras has since found himself back in the Valenwood. And has in a way, settled into Vulkwasten. Although if asked about being a resident, he'll deny it. Simply because he's not sure on his own feelings towards the place. Though... he does.. in a way see it as home. He has joined up with the Magpie Trading Company, and has even met new people and made new friends.

Though in recent times.. He's begun to unintentionally uncover things about his family. It's left him questioning himself and several other things.

However the biggest and most recent thing to happen, is the sudden move to Cormount. While he is reluctant to settle here, he does like the town. Finds it to be more peaceful than what Vulkwasten and Malabal Tor could ever be.
