First of all, this post is heavily copy/pasted from Afer Leotus’ (@Gnarlyarchfiend) original post found here: http://www.blueskooma.com/forum/m/22417574/viewthread/24996915-fighters-subfaction-guild/post/115449289#post_115449289
He did a wonderful job outlining the guild, posting relevant information and showing the guild structure. So I borrowed with his permission. I’ve added more content and made a few changes as well.
The Fighters Guild is a professional mercenary organization chartered by the Emperor in order to regulate the hiring and training of mercenaries and skilled warriors in Tamriel. Akaviri Potentate of the Reman Empire, Versidue-ShaieFighters founded the Guild in 2E 321. The guild became very popular soon. People from all over the Tamriel started to hire professional fighters and mercenaries for protection. Such popularity can be explained by several factors: first of all every member of the guild is a strong and professional fighter; the second factor is that the guild accepts any contract where strength and bravery required. The Fighters Guild will accept almost any contract. Contracts pertaining to the killing of infestations of rats, eliminating troublesome bandits, delivering packages, dealing with the Daedric threat, and escorting high-ranking nobles are all suitable jobs for a member of the Fighters Guild.
Our Cause:
The Fighter’s Guild of Vulkwasten was recently established to deal with several problems and requests arising in the area. First and foremost; there have been extensive rumors and stories circulating about Vulkwasten indicating that many supernatural beings could be residing there or using it as a safe haven. The Fighter’s Guild must remove this threat. If possible, some could be cured. In most cases these creatures will need to be exterminated.
Generally, the Guildmaster leads the entire Fighters Guild. Each province in Tamriel where the guild makes its presence meanwhile is headed by a Province General who handles business in the province in the Guildmaster's stead. The Province Generals all hold council as to how the guild should be run at a provincial level. Under the Province Generals, Provosts lead each guild hall located in the towns and cities the guild operates in, while Hall Stewards of each Guild Hall make sure each hall and its members are looked after.
This faction involves any and all forms combat work. Its offers a public space for warriors and adventures to learn, train and be employed for their strength. Nowadays the guild is very popular and is respected by all citizens of Tamriel. Many young men are dreaming to be accepted into this brotherhood of warriors. As of right now the main focus will be dealing with the Daedric threat due to a guild wide contract. As for lore. We are working with what happens after the main event in the Fighter’s Guild story line in the game.
Uniforms:
THIS IS NOT A REQUIREMENT. Wearing the uniform is strongly encouraged, as we've set it up so that rank can be shown through the armor sets at a glance. Terath can craft a set for you after you've joined and shown you'll be active within the guild. We use the glass armor set for medium and heavy. We have not tested light yet. In the FG we will help members unlock the needed dyes, and run events to help get some of them ICly as well.
Dyes/Colors:
Best:
Red - Pact Conqueror Red
Black - Coldharbour Black
Silver/Gray - Lycanthrope Gray
Alternates:
Red - Most other reds will look pink, feel free to use them temporarily while you unlock the ones above.
Black - Coldharbour black is the only one that works with this set. Feel free to use a gray or other color that doesn't clash with the set until it's unlocked. Black is not really needed except for higher ranks. This can be subbed out.
Silver/Gray - Obsidian Black, Birch White
Apprentice/Journeyman:
Swordsman:
Protector/Defender:
Steward:
Ranks:
Now for ranks. there has not been a good explanation about what each and every rank in Fighter’s Guild mean although some have a rough description to them but there is a another guild that RPs and Fighter’s Guild Mercenaries so Afer used theirs as inspiration.
Quick visual reference for telling rank:
Rank details:
Associates: Anyone who is not wanted by the law can become an Associate of the Fighter’s Guild, regardless of their skill in combat. Associates are free to use all opportunities the Fighter’s Guild can offer that are not bound by rank but are expected to follow the rules and regulations of the guild and are given lesser contracts.
Apprentice: Apprentices are considered as proper members of the guild, and are allowed to take higher level contracts. They are placed under the supervision of one or more tutors. But still considered too low for certain guild affairs.
Journeyman: Apprentices are given a form of examination. Should they pass an examination, Apprentices can rise from their rank to that of Journeyman. They are considered fully-fledged warriors, and will be tasked with responsibilities that lower ranks are not considered for.
Swordsman: Journeymen need only show greater skill in combat in order to advance to the rank of Swordsman. It is considered the guild's intermediate rank, although Swordsmen are expected to show above average combat prowess.
Protector: The first of the guild's 'high' ranks. It requires a Fighter not only to show skill in combat, but also dedication to the guild. If a contract requires supervision then it would be this rank or higher that would be contacted.
Defender: The lowest of the administrative ranks. Defenders can be relied upon by Hall Stewards and Provosts to ensure that their orders are being carried out smoothly within the region.
Hall Stewards/Warders: Hall Stewards serve as the Provosts' lieutenants, and assist with his or her administration of the region. Stewards are more tied to their region's main Guild Hall than the Provosts, and many of their duties may include keeping the Hall well-organized. Also, Stewards are usually the ones to welcome potential recruits and put them through examination before recruitment, and giving out both contracts and bounties to its members. They may even be in charge of more specialist operations within their region.
I am not explaining anything higher than that. No one is passing hall steward cause from there that is having too much power.
Side note: And there are some minor positions that can be nice to RP such as weapons instructor and Blacksmith/leatherworker. If you are interested in one of these positions please connect with Terath Drethan IC about it. If you have questions pertaining to them before deciding feel free to chat OOC as well with @iHaveReturnd.
Recruitment:
Important Notes/Rules:
It is very important that OOC knowledge does not come into the decisions made by Fighter’s Guild members. That could easily make RP for many other PC’s less enjoyable and that is not the goal here, so keep meta-knowledge in check!
Due to recent events, it is advised that cursed characters (lycanthropes, vampires, etc) do not attempt to join the Fighters Guild ICly, as Terath and other members almost always issue a silver test for new members, and this would result in the outting of your character.

Events and RP:
Events will come in many forms such as hunts, investigation, protection of goods, protection of people, dungeon runs, assisting guards and many other (mostly combat themed) topics. Combat centered RP will likely use the system BSR has been using for some time now found here:
http://www.blueskooma.com/forum/m/22417574/viewthread/30478347-teraths-preroll-combat-system/post/130890244#p130890244
Combat has also been done in the following form, especially when the groups are not large:
http://www.blueskooma.com/forum/m/22417574/viewthread/26448275-rppve-events-dd-style
I encourage free form combat RP (no rolls) when it is a small group, and everyone is comfortable that no one will god mod.
If you have suggestions or ideas for events I would love to hear them. I will post the scheduled times here and in the appropriate places on the forum as well.

"The Fighters Guild is a brotherhood of warriors. We provide a service to Tamriel, lending steel and shield to those who need our help. Whether that means ridding a town of an invading menace or protecting a helpless mage, we'll take the contract."

Talk to your Hall Steward/Protector for recruitment to the Fighter’s Guild. You don’t have to exactly talk to Terath Drethan, you can RP that another hall Steward recruited you. But you must tell me @iHaveReturnd if you wish to be part of the Fighter’s Guild Faction. For requirements, literally anyone who can hold a sword or fight can join. Please see the ranks listed for reference.
