Why is your character in Dominion territory? How did they get here?

Liline has many reasons for being in Dominion territory. A few are as follows:

She wants to learn the history of other races within the Dominion.
She enjoys fashion; she will gladly move around through Elsweyr and Valenwood to learn more about the way the fashion is made.
While she is not directly associated with the Dominion, her family was previously a large supporter and sponsor of it. She wishes to bring merit back to her family name by offering more coin to the war effort.
She considers herself a 'missionary of Mara'. She, however, doesn't necessarily preach her beliefs; she's more of a philanthropist, healing the wounded and tending to the sick.
She wants to be more 'worldly' in her knowledge of other cultures.

Background

Born into the wealthy Carmoran merchant family, which is known throughout the Summerset Isles as being fairly cosmopolitan in its pursuits. Things like jewelry, precious minerals, fine silks, and such other fashions were common in the Carmoran merchants' stores.
As a child, Liline was scrappy and tomboyish on her own time, but did well to impress her mother. This left her, as the eldest female in the family, a model of 'true Altmer blood'. Her mother considered her to be even more beautiful than herself.
Following the death of her mother and brother, she picked up the staff, and her sisters picked up the sword. They joined the Fighters' Guild and quickly rose in the ranks.
