Cirlin is a small framed, red haired haired, freckled covered, blue eyed lass. From her head to her toes, she's covered in freckles. She also carries a faint, all year round tan. Her ears are pierced, each once. Usually sporting small earrings in them. Her hair is usually worn in a braid, or in braided pig-tails. And she normally appears in green clothing / light armor. The coloration allowing her to hide in the surroundings that are Valenwood. She also carries a faint scent of flowers. It's a light, but pleasant scent.
Cirlin is a sweet lass. She's kind and friendly.. She's shy, but can also be very outgoing. The kind of girl that is hyper active and always looking for adventure and fun. Fun for her being found in just about everything. Even something as simple as climbing a tree or raiding a beehive for honey - Though always careful not to harm the bees of course. Lin is loving and caring towards friends, and even protective. She takes easily to those around her, especially if she spends enough time around them. Not afraid in the least to adopt others as siblings or uncles/aunts.
But she has a past.. One that has left her trying to do better. An ex thief, she wants to prove she can do better. She wants to prove she can do good. Her past has lead her into joining the Fighter's Guild. Believing they are good people, she sees this as her chance to prove herself. Despite her lack of battle knowledge. Determined to prove that she can be a warrior and hold her ground. This ties in with more of her past, after losing her father.
And this... This gives way to the fact that she is incredibly bullheaded and stubborn. If she don't want to do something, she simply won't. No amount of prodding will get her to do it. Or reverse, if she wants to do something, she may be stubborn enough to do it.. Even if told no.
The girl also has a temper and can get quite rude, very quickly if pushed enough. When caught up in the moment, she'll speak her mind with little thoughts to the outcome. Until it's too late. She's not the type to start a fight or go looking for it, but she isn't afraid to defend herself either. But she can also be a bit of a coward.
With her lack of battle knowledge, some situations just leave her terrified. When she's gone through bad situations, sometimes it takes her time to come around, time to readjust to everything. Bad situations, depending on what they were, can often leave her skittish and easily spooked. And even be very tense to the things around her after a bad experience. Such was the case after she met the assassin in the forest, and then later the odd gentleman looking for someone in S'renja.
Easiest way to describe Cirlin, is to call her a tomboy. And sort of ditzy at times. She finds more fun in exploring, finding mischief and getting dirty, than she does other things. She likes being outside. She likes climbing and even enjoys a good sparring match. And since becoming a motehr, she wants only what is best for her daughter. But is also terrified of becoming like her own mother. So much so, that she has made a promise... a vow.. To never restrain her daughter. Having decided from the moment she found out she was pregnant, that if her daughter wants to learn to hunt, fish and to fight, then so be it. Wanting to teach her, to guide her. Not to deny her.

Faeth Duskrock: Lin's mother. She runs an alchemy shop in Velyn Harbor. She's.. not the nicest of people. Short tempered, and very over-bearing when it comes to how protective she is. To the point, that she can and has, become to the point of smothering. She lost her husband. Fully believes that he is dead. And because of this, has become restricting on her children. Not wanting them out of her sight, demanding they learn to tend a merchant stall. That sort of thing. Just not wanting to risk losing them too. Problem is, she's pushed her kids so hard, that she's inadvertently pushed them away.
Peranil Duskrock: Lin's father. He was a fisherman and a hunter. And also helped the town guards if he were needed. Worked hard to provide for and to protect his family. And was the one that Lin looked up to the most when she was younger. There is a lot of mystery surrounding what happened to him. But Lin believes him to be dead. Nirian Arrow-Catcher: He is Lin's older brother. He is one the only out of her family that she speaks to. She avoids her mother, and her father.. she believes Peranil to be dead. Due to the things she was told when she was younger. She loves her big brother dearly. He is her rock, and she looks up to him.
Annor Phoenix-Wood: He is Lin's heart. Her fiancee. She loves this man with everything that she is. Adores him and cherishes every moment with him. While they are not officially married, she has taken on his last name. And considers him as her husband. Anyone that says otherwise, may get punched.
Hyla Phoenix-Wood: Annor & Lin's daughter. She is one years old. She is Lin's world. While Lin wants to find adventure, and continue to run with a mercenary company, she has found that raising her daughter is far more important. And wants to be there for her. To raise her right.
Her Past - Spoiler Heavy!
4th of Frost Fall - The soft cries of a baby girl would be welcomed into the world in a small home, in Woodhearth. The cries did not stop until she was placed in her mother's arms after being cleaned up in the wash basin. Together, her parents would name her Cirlin Hope, and she'd gain the family's last name of Duskrock. Ahead of her, she had an older brother. Nirian. He was exactly one year older than she was.
Her parents were merchants. Her father caught and sold fish, and animal pelts, her mother would sell alchemical things brought in through shipments from other provinces outside the Valenwood. They weren't a wealthy family by any means, but they made sure their daughter never went without. Nirian and Cirlin would be the only children to the family. Not because they didn't want more. But because her mother just wasn't in good enough health to bring more into the world. They found and adopted Nirian. But loved him dearly and as their own. Having Cirlin was a surprise. One that neither were prepared for, but happily accepted.
She had a fairly decent childhood. She played with her brother and the children there, grew up around them. Made just as many friends as she did enemies. Just a typical kid. Her mother wanted her to be a lady though, but she'd grow up a tomboy. Spent most of her time finding mischief with the boys around town. This included...snagging... little things when no one was looking. Of course, with the right of theft, it made it so she could use that. Not to cause problems, but a lot of the time, it was against boys or even other girls that would try to pick fights with her.
She was thirteen when things changed. Her father would go out with some friends, on a hunting trip. She had been.. angry when he left. She had wanted to go. But he refused. Told her she had to remain as it was a guy's outting. She refused to say goodbye and stormed off. He never came back. His friends came back, but he wasn't with them. Her father's friends, recounted a horrifying story of werewolves setting upon their camp. And their friend coming up missing. He was never found. Lin would grow to resent herself. And in time, became angry and bitter. She'd begin to rebel.
A week later, those that returned would turn. One by one, almost back to back. The wolves would go on a rampage, killing any that got too close. Lin would nearly be attacked in that mess. The only saving grace, was being pulled to safety. She'd become both terrified of werewolves, but also fascinated. This would later scare her mother. Her mother would become.. controlling. Not wanting Lin out of her sight.
Her mother, believing that Cirlin's father was dead, would pack up and leave Woodhearth. Taking Niri and Lin with her. She thought she was doing the right thing, to protect the kids. It didn't go easily. Lin tried to run away, wanting to go find her father. Refusing to believe that he had turned or was dead. It resulted in her mother asking a sailor to pick her up and bring her on board. The guy knocked her out. Her mother never reprimanded him for it either. They'd set sail, and eventually dock in Velyn Harbor. It was here, that her mother would decide to make a home for them. She'd take back up selling alchemcial things. And Lin, she'd start to make new friends. These new friends, would introduce Lin to the Outlaw's Refuge.. And further pull her into stealing. She'd take a strong liking to it. Lin would become more rebellious than she already had been. It was made worse when her mother became over-bearingly protective, to the point of smothering. She pushed, and Lin would just push back harder. Faeth only wanted what was best. But would instead just cause her kids to push away.
Her mother would begin to pressure her. Demanding she learn the herb trade. Trying to make the girl follow her lead. Demanding she run a merchant stall. When she brought up learning to fight, Faeth would panic. And refuse it. The constant pressuring, would only lead to Lin turning her resentment and anger on her mother. She'd eventually start avoiding her mother, and start running with the group of girls she had met. The stealing they introduced her to would morph.. She was already stealing things. But it'd turn into lying and sneaking out, more than before, and she'd play different roles for the group to ensure their safety. Including look out. She was sneaking out at night, finding trouble, often in fist fights with others. There was a lot of things, that she'd get involved in.
The first several months, she, Niri and her mother would live in a tavern while their home was grown along the outskirts of Velyn Harbor. She had fun while staying in the tavern. Though had more fun spending time outside. Especially when she was running around with her friends. It was shortly after their home became livable, that an attack happened on the town. In it, a woman in the tavern had gone to help. She watched in awe.. After the attack was over and the day was won, she spoke to the woman...
The woman would sit her down, talk to her one on one. Learning of the things Lin was doing, she'd tell Lin that she could be so much more than a common thief and thug. Asked her if she wanted to do anything else. Lin would admit that she wanted to be like her dad. Wanted to go on adventures, fish on the ocean, hunt some day and help those around her. And due to the happenings with the werewolf incident, she wanted to learn to fight. Believing if she were to help defend, then she needed to learn. But also explained the situation with her mother. The woman would tell her to follow those dreams. Make something of herself. Lin would take this to heart.
She was fifteen when she left home. Unhappy and knowing she couldn't follow her dreams under her mother's thumb, she left the first chance she got. Deciding to follow her dreams as was suggested when she was thirteen. She'd take to exploring Malabal Tor. She'd learn how to hunt and how to fire a bow while on the road. She, in short, ran away from home. Her mother having forbid her to leave, Lin would sneak out one night, and just be.. gone. The only one she left a note for, would be her older brother. But would beg him at the end, not to tell her. And she was gone.
Lin would keep in touch through letters though, through her travels. Only writing to her brother.
She was seventeen when she'd take an interest in hunting werewolves and vampires. Most of it, circles around that fact that she's curious and wants to learn more while also helping to take down threats. But also because she remembers very well how much a single werewolf attack was able to change her family so drastically. She don't want anyone else to have to suffer that way. She wanted to help and do good things. But it was more than that. It was also, she wanted to redeem herself. To prove she can be better than she was before.
A month after finding herself in Vulkwasten, she'd join the Fighters Guild. She'd also help in repelling a daedric invasion on the town against both daedra and afflicted. During the invasion, during a more peaceful moment, she'd find herself falling in love with a guy that was a little older than she was. His name would be Annor. She'd fall in love with him fairly quickly.
She has also killed her first deer.. Which she promptly lost after an attack from an assassin happened. The attack from the assassin would take place shortly after the end of the daedric invasion. While the man was not directly after her, it did not stop the lunatic from throwing a knife at her. She got stuck in the arm by it. She was lucky it wasn't poisoned.
She'd move in with Annor after that. She was eighteen when she became engaged, and a few months later, discovered she was pregnant. She was three months pregnant when she was kidnapped. She didn't know at the time that she was pregnant. Slavers had invaded the shoreline along Vulkwasten. A walk in the woods with a friend, would cause the both of them to be captured and sold to slavery. Lin was there all of two weeks before being returned home. She'd remain in the dark about being pregnant.
She was five months along, when she found out she was pregnant. By this point, everyone had been driven out of Vulkwasten. The town had relocated to Cormount. She and Annor would settle into a large tent, living on the outskirts. Where they still live to this day, as their home is still growing.
She'd have Hyla right on schedule nine months later. And nearly die having her. She'd come close to bleeding out. But the kindness and quick thinking of the healer that helped her, would prevent that from happening. Ensuring that both she and the baby were safe. Lin has also left the Fighter's Guild, or more specifically, was fired. Though if asked, she'll gladly tell the person asking that she quit willingly.
She has since become a mercenary. And has hope that this will be a good decision. Wanting nothing more than to be able to help provide loving home for not only herself and Annor.. but also their daughter. For Hyla. She wants to make sure her daughter has everything she didn't have growing up. A stable home, and a loving family. Though Lin is also afraid. Scared that she herself will become like their mother. It is a fear that she has kept to herself thus far. Having only voiced it once.
