Why In dominion territory?
After the plainsmeld, Cantose had hoped for a quick resolution to the alliance war, and favored the dominion in it's odds of victory, however that proved incorrect and he later left the dominion's army unable to watch his homeland being torn apart by the alliances. Due to his allegiance with the dominion, it seemed his best bet to stay in their territory, until this all blows over. It's going to blow over right? It has to, eventually.
History/Biography
(Note: This guy has been my character for two years in ESO alone, so he's a bit strong, his strength can be changed based on what seems balanced in a current rp, even to the point of fully ignoring his curse in its entirety, and just saying he got badly injured during the planesmeld)
As a Child in the Imperial CIty Cantose was poor, he lived with his mother who barely pulled in ends meet, his father was a soldier in the legion. When Cantose was 15 his father died as a pawn in some general's master plan, an acceptable loss as it was, he took it poorly and his mother took it even worse. His mother had to turn to any way possible to get by and provide, and was bitter with the government who took her husband. About a year after his father's death, Cantose's mother was arrested for treason, and executed shortly afterwards. Cantose, Left only with the red diamond from his father's legion armor, and a music box from his mother, decided he needed to leave the city, taking the first cart that would allow him to get out of the city. He ended up in Valenwood, where he lived homeless for several years. Supported by kind wood elves that lived in the area he did odd jobs, staying near towns during the winters. During the Winter when he was 18 he stayed near an orphanage, where he met his soon to be adopted, by him, brother. Forming a fast friendship with the little boy of ten he worked all winter in order to make enough gold to adopt, and support him both. They continued this lifestyle until Cantose was 20, and Lethose was 12, when they had a falling out over moral principles, Cantose Stormed out of Valenwood, returning to the Imperial City and leaving his brother behind. Being a fit man of 20 the Legion happily allowed him to enroll, where he served rather happily for the next six years. Right before the soul burst Cantose was on leave in the Imperial City and, disliking the down time, was serving as a city guard. He was standing on the wall with several of his allies when it happened. Before he could even reach the streets of the city he was hit by a blast of magic that vaporized his friends and sent him flying off the wall. He landed on the opposite side of the moat, impaled on a rock. Desperately he prayed to anyone or anything that would listen, and something responded. Molag Bal, being the only power watching over the imperial city made him a deal, his soul, for the ability to heal through his injury and continue to fight. Cantose was desperate and took the deal, managing to pull himself off the rock, watching in wonder as his body fought off what should've been certain death, he suddenly realized the deal he had agreed to. As Molag Bal sapped out his soul, his father's red diamond, which he had always put into his own armor, interfered absorbing his leaving soul before Molag Bal could take it. Terrified of what had transpired Cantose crawled away from the city his was supposed to be protecting, still weak from his wound. Ever since then Cantose has regretted his cowardice in the face of that danger, and has continued to be able to defy death from wounds that should be fatal. After a year of trying everything to get his soul back into his body, with no avail, from consulting mages to other powerful Deadra, Cantose accepted his curse moving on as a mercenary, but after another year of surviving attacks, ambushes, illnesses, and many other issues that caused every band of mercenaries he had affiliated himself with to die in front of him, Cantose wanders alone.
