A number half written letters lay on the ground in Wraesha's cell. They're torn, crumpled, and rejected. If unfolded, or pieced back together, some of the letters can be read. They're written in Taagra, curling, messy handwriting. Below are translations of each of these letters.

Dear Mom and Dad,

I’m addicted to

Hello,

I’ve made a few mistakes recently, and I’m being held in jail. I know this isn’t the kind of letter you’d like to receive right now. I’m being held in the local jail. I was trying to sell something I shouldn’t have been selling, and in an effort to save myself I may have shot a former friend in the shoulder.

Hello Mom and Dad,

Things haven’t been going well for me recently, and it’s been a long time since I last wrote to you. That little khajiit girl I told you about is doing well was shocked by a wizard and has me scared sick. I suppose I know how you felt whenever I’d get myself into trouble. She reminds me a lot of how I used to be. She’s got a big heart, and she works hard, but she’s full of fire. I don’t know whether or not to try and protect her, or to push her harder. Maybe you can give me some advice.

Though right now might not be the best time for me to raise anyone, because I’ve gotten myself into a bit of trouble. I shot Keys in the foot and was arrested

Dear Mom and Dad,

Do you remember that story grandfather told about how when the moons were bright, the sugar would grow faster and there would be sweets for the children in the morning, but when they were dark, this was a sign of bad things to come. I never understood when I was told that this was a metaphor for how you could never really control the ups and downs of life, only react to them when they came. I think I do now.

I was arrested recently. The acting town marshall was not very happy with me. I was in anvil and I was trying to sell drugs. I know you wouldn’t approve, but I really needed the money, and it was what was helping keep you afloat. The deal went bad, and I had to shoot someone to get out safe. I’m sorry to tell you this, and I really hope that you don’t think any less of me. This is very hard to write and I hope you reserve judgment until we speak again. The town marshall held a trial the other day, and she told me I could have been executed. I’ve learned my I won’t do I’m being held for the next

Hello

I don’t know how to tell you this, because I’ve kept it all from you for a very long time. So I ask that you read the whole letter before you panic. My trading company wasn’t as legitimate as I led on. I didn’t mean for it to get that way, I only wanted to make you proud, and have enough to make a life for myself outside the farm. A few months ago while on a trip we were attacked by daedra. I’m not going to go into the details, but a man died, and his soul was stolen and trapped. I tried to sell the gem so that I would have enough money to keep the caravan alive, but an employee of mine betrayed me. I know it sounds like she’s in the right, but at the time

Warm sands,

I may have lost the respect of a few of my employees today, including Shell, and the girl I told you about, but

Dear Mom and Dad,

I’m writing to inform you that the town was recently attacked by daedra. I was in a jail cell while it happened because

Mom and Dad,

I won’t be able to send you money this month. I’m sorry. I’ll visit when I can. I love you.

A note has been slid under the door of the Magpie Warehouse. Anyone with keys to enter may find it inside.
