A brand new leather bound journal sits on a nightstand in a rented room. There is only one entry with no dates or times.

Guess I might as well start writing what has been going on. Maybe If I manage to have some little ones one day they will be able to read it and believe some of the outlandish tales. Where do I start? Crashing in a backwater town called Vulkwasten or something or other isn’t what I thought I would be doing these days. When you gotta run though you gotta run. Far as I know Daegen and the old crew are all dead or arrested. So here I am. Grabbed all my stuff and tore out of Daggerfall as fast as that stolen horse could carry me. Think I am far enough away so they won’t be coming after me…

The first night was rough. Torrential storm had flooded most of this place out but I managed to make it into the tavern. Talked to a bustin at the seams pregnant gal who told me I could make a bit of coin bringing in some local game and I would get paid extra for some troll. Must think I’m crazy. I wouldn’t hunt troll alone. Of course what the fuck do you think happened? Took a bad spill about 5 miles outside of town and fell in front of a damn cave that housed one of the lousy sonsabitches. He gashed me up pretty good. Nearly spilled my damn guts out, but he couldn’t have gotten far with that dagger in his neck. Dragged my sorry ass back to town with the meat I managed to snag and collapsed in the damn bar. Got fixed up. Met a few decent people. Hell even met a lady or two I would like to spend some time with.

]So far I am trying to work the straight and narrow. Some of the people around here make it difficult. Met more than a few elves with sticks up there arses. Certain one always has a damn dog around him, but he is just begging for s cracked jaw. Least I got to chuck some muddy towels on him while we cleaned up the bar. Just gotta blend in. Sure enough I will run around to my old type of people here. No town is free of its share of thieves and sneak blades. For now we just lay low. Make some money the legit decent folk way. With the activity around here there will be more than enough opportunity to put my skills to use later.
