PERSONALITY BASICS

[ + ] Charismatic: The mer possesses a unique charm that has gotten him out of countless scrapes as well as an attractive confidence. He prides himself on his wit that seems to come and go depending on the situation.

[ + ] Good Sense of Humor: Having been insulted for his roots, appearance, and just about anything else you can thing of, Fiore has learned to take everything with a grain of salt and tend to manipulate the wording into jokes. He rarely gets angry, frustrated and annoyed, but his anger is something not to taken lightly if he should ever get upset. The only thing that truly gets to him in terms of insults is people making fun of his mother or being the child of a prostitute. However as he tries to direct the conversation as far away from his own past as possible, there’s little possibility of anyone ever learning the fact.

[ / ] Flirtatious: Always looking for a good time, the mer enjoys flirting with both men, women, and everyone in-between. Having been raised in a brothel, he was introduced to an amorous lifestyle at a young age. That being said, Fiore is a promiscuous mer having been intimate with both men and women although he tends to lean towards women.

Other: Calculating, generally easy-going, lonely, petty, poetic, sarcastic, devious

LOOKS

Height: 6’6” and 1/2

Eyes: A light cream color edged with a golden hue, looking almost like gold flakes. As a young mer, his eyes were significantly paler appearing almost colorless in appearance which has since changed. The mer does require glasses for reading.

Facial Structure: Angular and generally sharp, he is fairly androgynous.

Body Structure: Somewhat lanky though he does retain a surprising amount of muscle for a mage.

Distinguishing Features: Tan bands encircle each of his biceps as well as circle around his collar bone with smaller dots below the bands but upon closer observations, they appear to be fingerprints. He has three piercings, two on one ear [semi-precious jade stones] and one [gold band] on the other.

SKILLS

Magicka: Fiore’s magicka abilities are fairly strong, making up for how clumsy and unskilled he is with weaponry save for archery. That being said, he considers archery a hobby and nothing more.

Weaponry / Weapons of Choice: He makes all of the staffs he uses in combat, tending to focus on Khajit motifs as he likes the sharp crescent moon can double as a sort of blade / spear in desperate times. His magicka tends to deal with electricity and lightening of sorts. Although he can contort his magicka into crystal like shards that he normally uses like daggers, often summoning multiple as to stab the enemy multiple times. As soon as these shards hit a target, they fade away and disappear into what appears to be sand but is more so the remains of his magicka.

HISTORY

Fiore was the unintended result of a highly sought after courtesan and a frequent customer, a successful Maormer pirate with a notoriety for pedaling skooma into poor, sea side communities throughout the coast of Tamriel. Needless to say, his upbringing was fairly abnormal as he was raised in a communal effort by various prostitutes belonging to a higher end brothel, the owner a calculating Khajit by the name of Tsava. He knew of his father, yet meetings between the two were rare and few and far between during his early childhood as his work often kept him away and he had no interest settling down. Despite the differences between Camadar and Elendore in terms of both cultures and lifestyles, the two were in love with one another in their own unique sense. His mother, loved her son to pieces and was pleased to essentially have a piece of Camadar with her. Tsava, on the other hand, believed he was bad for business however she gradually began to treat him like a nephew. The two quickly picked up on his skills in the art of magicka as the young boy wasn’t shy about showing it off. He would be frequently seen with his nose in a book and staying up late into the night to read, often falling asleep only when the wick of his candle could provide no more light for his love of knowledge. Fiore was always adamant about telling his mother what a fantastic mage he’d become and how he’d put her up in splendor as she was a big part of his life.

As a young boy, Fiore was nearly unrecognizable in terms of his current appearance. He wore large, coke-bottle glasses and was fairly small for his age. His mop of pale, curly locks were often thrown into a loose bun to keep out of his face while he studied. The young mage was skinny, looking more beanpole than mer. His shoulders were normally hunched over given his constant studying.

Both Tsava and Elendore persuaded [black-mailed] the headmaster [and frequent customer to the brothel] of a fairly well-known, private academy to the arts of magicka to let her son attend on a “scholarship.” Not having very much of a choice for the sake of his reputation, Fiore was begrudgingly accepted into the academy with a critical gaze, the staff waiting for the young halfling to slip up. However he quickly rose to be one of the most prominent students of the academy, much to everyone’s dismay. At one point he did want to stop attending as the bullying became too much for him to handle. However his mother wouldn’t hear of such a notion and told him to smile as it would “destroy them to see your happiness.” It should be noted he still uses this tactic even if he’s angry or sad, choosing to smile instead of show any negative emotion as it is a sort of defense, like wearing a mask.

Her occupational hazards besting her, Elendore contracted a sexually-transmitted disease similar to syphilis and began to waste away. Seeing no “respectable” Altmer healer would have a look at her and potentially save her life, Fiore began to pour his energy into learning about healing on his own. At this time, his intense hatred for his mother’s culture began to grow as he learned to deal with their own mocking of him but he grew violent if anyone was to insult Elendore. He did all a young boy could have potentially done with limited knowledge of his own magicka and the broad subject of healing. Tsava, having thought of her top courtesan as a sort of sister, wouldn’t hear about throwing her out upon the news of her illness and continued to let her and her son stay in the brothel.

It wasn’t long until Elendore succumbed to her illness and passed away. Devastated that the only person he could ever truly connect to was gone, Fiore blamed himself for not being intelligent enough to help his mother in her time of need. And with this contorted thinking, he figured if he wasn’t smart enough to help his mother than he wasn’t smart enough to go onto be the fantastic mage he told his mother he’d become.

Without Tsava’s assistance and guidance, he would have most definitely fallen into a life of piracy. However the older Khajit gave what one would call “tough love” and told the preteen if he wasn’t in school, he wasn’t going to stay in her home. It seemed to work as he poured his energy into formal schooling and it certainly paid off in the long run. He is very proud of having made his own successful path despite his roots.

TID BITS

TID BITS
Likes: Mudcrab and other seafood, the ocean, being intimate, gambling, reading, Altmer wines, gold, having a good laugh, snakes, very spicy food, traveling, teaching those with a passion to learn, jewelry [particularly with green gemstones], archery, fine clothing.

Dislikes: Mead [it gets him very drunk very easily], the snow, chocolate / super sweet foods, the fact he can’t grow a proper beard, being dirty, people that clean under their fingernails with a dagger, ill-mannered brutes, bell peppers.

[ / ] The mer sleeps the bare-minimum of required hours to function as he finds it boring and a waste of time when he could be productive. This sort of lifestyle tends to get the best of him, however, as he’ll lapse into a deep sleep from time to time to which he nearly sleeps the entirety of a day away.

[ / ] Fiore is a firm believer in the power meditation and often meditates before he sleeps to center both his thoughts and his magicka as it helps him relax and gather himself.

[ / ] He loves to read whenever he has a minute of spare time. The space beneath his bed is crammed full of books on every subject you can think of, from Dwemer constructions to Redguard poetry.

CHARACTER JAMS

[ / ] Grace Kelly by MIKA: “Do I attract you? Do I repulse you with my queasy smile? Am I too dirty? Am I too flirty? Do I like what you like? I could be wholesome, I could be loathsome, I guess I’ma little bit shy. Why don’t you like me? Why do you don’t like me without making me try?

[ / ] Under Your Spell by Desire: “… Hey! Yeah? I was wondering, do you know the difference between love and obsession? No. And what’s the difference between obsession and desire? I don’t know. Do you think this feeling can last forever? You mean like forever ever? Forever ever? Forever ever? Forever ever? Forever ever? Sure. God, I hope so. Me too …”

[ / ] Constant Headache by Joyce Manor: “… I couldn’t hold back a smile, I still wish I could have seen you having sex in the morning, you love was foreign to me. It made me think maybe being human is not such a bad thing to be but I just laid there in protest, entirely fucked. It’s such a stubborn reminder one perfect night’s not enough.”

[ / ] Blindness by Metric: “… What it is and where it stops nobody knows, you gave me a life I never chose. I wanna leave but the world won’t let me go, wanna leave but the world won’t let me go …”
