Writings Of A Boy - Ashirin's Journal

[ The writing in this entry almost doesn't even look like his own. It's very sloppy, and smears all over the place. His attempt to write with is right hand. ]

Frostfall - 8th

This one broke his wrist yesterday.. Or was it the day before?
Can't remember.. Falling out of trees hurts. Don't plan to do it
again any time soon. But at least the apples the tree has taste
good. So.. there's that..

He can't help but worry though. Ashi hasn't seen Tigers in a long
time. This one wonders where his friend has gone. Khajiit don't
have many friends in this very humid place. But that is changing
he thinks.. Met another khajiit tonight. Ji. He seems really nice.
This one sat with him for awhile.

Ji says the forest is dangerous. Ashi wants to explore, but is also
afraid to go out there. Alone, at least. He'll stick to the main roads..
The worse he has seen is a.. who-...hoova-... tick. Giant tick. He seen
a giant tick. This one kept his distance though.

This one also wants to get to know Keys too. But feels shy when
she is near. Silly, yes?

[ There's a giant scribble of various attempted words.. followed by..]
-ink splat here-
[ He dropped the ink well. ]

Not writing anymore.. goodnight book.

Frostfall 9th

It's awkward to write with this hand. But this one is
willing to continue to try.

Another nightmare came tonight. It's why this one is
awake. The bandits were there in his dream. They had
this one in a cage and were trying to take him away
from this town.. Away from his sister..

This one woke, grabbing for the blade..

That reminds this one.. This one wanted to write
more last night, but after he dropped the inkwell,
he just wasn't in the mood.

After Ji left, this one talked more with Sinir-Dar. He
is making friends with more adults than he is people
his own age. Some probably think that's strange. But
Ashi don't think it's weird.

He... gave this one a blade. Told him to sleep with it
near his bedside. This one will have to do his best not
to get caught with it. He is uncertain of how Kiari would
react if she seen it.

Ashi likes Sinir though. At first, he was uneasy about him.
The way he talked about killing.. It made him not so sure
about him. But.. then.. he learned things about him. Now
he's not nervous.

He wants to train this one. Ashi just hopes he's a good
student. This one.. gets distracted easily, but doesn't
mean to.

How does he know which altmer to go to though? A
test he said.. This one has to speak to one named Steel.
This one hopes he'll know him when he sees him. There
are not many altmer guards, this one don't think.

There is so much on his mind right now. This one thinks
he's going to go back to sleep. Or try to. He don't want to
wake his sister.

Frostfall 10th

This one found Steel today. He's.. different than what Ashi
had pictured. He pictured a man in heavy armor, armed to
the teeth. Ashi is glad that was not the case. He was
surprisingly easy to talk to. He looked annoyed to see this one.
He had a hard time telling if Steel was happy or angry at first. But
he's a really nice guy.

Steel showed this one some basics with the dagger. Like what
spots kill. This one never plans to kill! But it is good to know. It will
help this one avoid making that mistake of hurting somone. He don't
want to do that. Bandits hurt Ashi and his sister in more ways than he
can possibly account for. This one does not want to harm another. But
knowing how to defend himself is important.

While we talked, Keys came in. This one did not even hear her enter.
She started to laugh at this one! Ashi thought she was laughing at his
clothing at first.. But.. she don't think this one can use the blade.

This one has only ever used a dull iron dagger, once. And that was when the
bandits attacked. This one rushed in to help.. and.. He don't remember
anything after that. When he returned to his senses, he was being carried
away by his sister.

Keys thinks all kids are on apron strings. This one can't rely on others to always
guard his tail. This one wants to be a healer more than anything. But.. the
nightmares are becoming persistant. This one fears the bandits finding us. Ashi
wants to be able to protect himself.. And.. to protect his sister. Like she has done
for him all this time.

Seeing Keys, this one blushed..But more so because she was laughing at him. It
left him feeling awkward.. So this one retreated to his room.

Dark moons... Are all girls like her? Pretty, but mean?

Frostfall 13th

This one is lucky a seamstress lives in the room next to his and
his sister's room. There was a party tonight. The seamstress put
together a costume quickly for this one. He still don't know her
name. But he thanked her many times for it. This one went to
the party as a jester. He didn't see his sister there, but he seen
a lot of others. So many interesting costumes. Even someone
dressed like a guard! Like the ones in the pictures of Anvil.

This one tried to impress Keys at the party. He failed..
Ashi tried to juggle. This one should have probably
practiced first before attempting such a thing. He dropped
most of the balls on his own head. The rest fell away. By
the end, he only had two of them to hold onto. He even offered
to dance with her, and for her. But she wasn't interested.

How does he impress one like her? She fights trolls! This
one would never have the courage to go up against one
of those monsters! Ashi hates being so awkward around
her. Maybe.. he can try to learn to cook or something. Make
something for her. Or.. Dull claws, this one don't know.

The party turned weird. Things.. happened. Most of which,
this one can't even remember. He remembers talking to Keys.
Remembers eating sweetrolls and talking to one dressed as a
khajiit. But then.. everything is a blur. What happened? When
he came back to his senses, he was kneeled on the ground.

Tonight has been strange, but this one at least got Keys to smile.
Even laugh. He accomplished that much. And he made some new
friends, he thinks. One he don't know the name of, but we seemed
to have hung out at the party. The other, is Sig.. I can't spell the rest
of his name. He was a dragon priest!

This one looks forward to seeing his new friends again. Weird stuff
aside, this one things tonight was a good night.

Ashi is tired though. So, he will nap for a bit. Good night, book. Stay in
this one's pack. No falling out this time.
