It’s been some time since I’ve written. Things seem to have finally settled down and truly, this mer is blessed. Little Gils is growing into a fine little lad, and Styletta is filling out as a mother wonderfully.

Work as a guard has been favorable as well. I’ve even accepted a promotion, now that Gils is a little older and our lives have settled, I see no reason not to accept it. I have some concerns about Kashya’s husband, however. There is an unsettling haste to violence and bloodlust in that boy, such an unstable sadism doesn’t fit well with law. I pray the Marshal knows what she is doing. At least that case is more or less solved, apart from that code.

Poor Lucrezia still can’t seem to remember anything, I’m afraid that if it hasn’t come back yet, it may never come back. Perhaps it’s for the best, to be fair. Unburdened by the sins of the past and working with a clean slate. May she never remember those dark days. Still, it would nice to know how she received that injury.

Those blasted eels. Nearly took my toes off! Well, I’m willing to admit my defeat to those finned foes, I’m no fishermer. It seems we were able to secure that trade deal at least, so there is some hope. I had truly hoped for the farmland, I’d hate to see my little Gils and Styletta go without a meal again, at least if we grew food we’d have some on hand. How hard could it be? You just put seeds in the ground, like making some sort of soil baby.

I’m fairly sure that eel had some sort of disease. The puking stopped thanks to Styletta’s sweet cooking, but my head feels on fire. It wouldn’t be so bad if this rash wasn’t here too. Eh, I’m sure it will go away! If not, I can always try some of that home-made salve.

During a training exercise, we were presented with a new problem for the village. That murderer stirred up a whole pot of trouble for us. I have faith that some of the villagers will serve well on the council. Then there is the strange Rats. Poor gal can't seem to keep her tongue in line. Her heart is there but perhaps some were not meant to keep their inside thoughts, well, inside.

- Need to double down on looking manly in front of the boys. Styletta let my secret love of the floral blanket get loose.

The festival was marvelous! I saw two new faces, one was a lovely woman who had only just arrived in town. I only wish my beloved could have attended, little Gils may have enjoyed seeing such a large bonfire.

Officially seeded our crop field for the season, with luck it will go much better than my last attempt. Who knew those beetles could spread so fast? I searched for many notes and books on agriculture in Skywatch but most information I’ve had to obtain from word of mouth from khajiit merchants. One had previously worked on a sugar paddy and considering the work involved...I think I’ll steer clear of anything that requires so much irrigation.

I only wish there were more herders in the village. I can’t help but feel some of the merchants and stable hands are overcharging me for good manure materials. Some mage suggested I throw in some sort of strange ingredients or potions with some fire. Yeah, I don’t think I’ll be doing that anytime soon.

Maybe I’ll be able to grow something that doesn’t have worms in it this year!
