Burdens is a well-toned, average-sized argonian with some extra weight due to the muscle she carries. On closer inspection, she has black scales with white stripes along her body. Her head is adorned with rows of spikes on the top of her head and down to her brow. She does have a fleck of red paint on her face, but her red eyes give her even more of an intimidating look.
It's uncommon for her to be without her heavy armor. It looks to be well-maintained, though there might be the occasional dent or flecks of dried blood on it. She usually bears a shield and a one-handed weapon, though maces tend to be her favorite for honorable duels.
Personality
Burdens tends to be fair to others, though she can sometimes come off as abrasive and hot-headed if provoked. Recently, she has been untrusting to others, constantly analyzing them for some secret motive or other issue. Her smarts aren't her strong suit, such as she might see a general picture but she might not see the greater image or the finer details.
Her strongest personality is her strong pull toward fighting and honorably fighting others. She loves the adrenaline and emotions that fighting brings. She fights with determination and pushes herself, sometimes with disregard of her own safety. She hates to lose.
Why is she here?
Burdens is constantly traveling to look for new fights to challenge herself, having no regard for alliances or pacts. After winning a few duels in Anvil, she heard a rumor that there were great warriors and stirrings in Grahtwood in a small village. She couldn't resist the call for new challenges.
Background
Kai-La (Black Marsh name) was hatched in Black Marsh as the oldest sibling. As time passed, she grew a mean streak of fighting other children in order to protect her siblings. When some of her mentors saw that, they intervened and steered her toward a path of being a guard for the village. The rest of her adolescent life was spent training and honing her skills, with an occasional fight here and there.
Once Kai-La was of age, she spent a few years guarding the village, defending against a few attacks. Though with each fight she was found wanting to fight someone much more powerful. After two years, she departed Black Marsh and searched for someone or something to hone her skills. She spent a few years wandering, picking a few fights, and taking the occasional job here and there to make money. Some mercenaries started calling her Burdens-Many-Blows to tease her, though she's proven the name time and time again and decided to adopt it for herself.
Suddenly, Burdens disappeared for two years without a trace. There are several rumors floating around such as imprisonment or slavery, but after two years, she re-emerged back on the mercenary scene. Some who have worked with her say that her personality has changed, even taking the occasional job that most wouldn't touch. Yet, she continued to wander and fight for gold or honor. She is still reliable, but she seems more unsettled, as if looking for something.
