Character Name:
Agamir Dusksquall
Age: 30
Affliction:
None but unending charm.
Physical description:
Agamir is tall for a Bosmer, and tan from entirely too much effort to get tan. He has long black hair, and green eyes. eye? He wears an eyepatch, it's a long story. I know I know, a pirate with an eyepatch how original. You might be surprised how dangerous the open sea is to a fellows eyesight. Or at least losing bets.
Personality Section:
Agamir is smart, at least he thinks so. He is constantly finding himself in trouble because he loves (the idea at least) seeking treasure and wealth. The quintessential smarmy rogue, he tries to lighten the mood even as he is lightening some fair darmsel of her chastity or a constable of his money pouch. One thing he doesn't believe in is causes, and he refuses to have a part in them. (this means no in game guild affiliation) Causes get a man killed, the idea of fighting someone elses battles turns his stomach. If he had his way, he would take crafty Lerisa and kiss her till she forgot how much she wants to slap him for it. Hey, a man can dream right?
Why is your character in the Daggerfall Covenant:
If you were recognizable by ex lovers, rich politicians and loan sharks, and all three wanted your neck in a noose, you would steer clear of Dominion territory too. Being a pirate of some renown once upon a time doesn't do a guy any favors either.
Background:
Agamir was born in Valenwood to a poor mother and a father he never met. He took to thievery to keep himself and his mother alive. When he was around fifteen, she caught rockjoint from a skeever and died of fever. Not knowing what to do with himself Agamir walked down to to the coast to his usual spot to really think about his options. Hearing a commotion and clamor down by the water, he hid behind some rocks and stuck his head out to get a better view. The Sea Vipers were bringing in a shipment of cargo, some of which was so glittery it made his mouth water. He creapt out to get a better view of the treasure and nearly bumped right into one of the pirates. A fair amount of yelling and laughing later, he was a prisoner on a ship headed to parts unknown to him. The Vipers didn't kill him, rather they made a bit of a spectacle out of him and once they found out he was especially good at lifting small and easily missed things from a persons pockets, their entertainment as well. Eventually he was offered a choice, a job aboard "The Cobrahood" or a swim back to the mainland through slaughterfish infested waters. The job seemed the prudent choice.
Flash forward a decade, Agamir has been with the vipers a long time and made both friends and enemies, even on his own ship! He has been successful in heists multiple times, and also put the crew of his ship in peril an almost (but not quite) equal number of times. He is wanted in Grahtwood and Auridon as a Sea Viper for hanging, and more than one mercenary also wants a piece of his hide. His captain catches wind of a big haul from up north, some trade vessel loaded down with gold and silks. Steering the Cobrahood northward on an interception course is Agamir, who was at this point seriously considering a change of occupation. The skirmish was legendary, with most of the other ship's crew dead on the spot and the rest in the sea either drowning or fighting not to. The Cobrahood was badly damaged, of course the captain didn't care as he swaggered to the railing of his own sinking ship and marveled at his NEW ship. "Closer Agamir, bring us closer so we can affix the hooks and get off this sinking pile of memories!" He called, and the long pause that followed was palpable. Turning to look at his confused crew and the empty helm of his ship, he realized that Agamir wasn't there. Whirling back to the other ship just as a small figure emerged from the water, he roared in fury. Agamir took the ship for himself, he had been feeling for some time that he had outworn his welcome anyway. He sailed away, as The Cobrahood Sank into the waters she had once mastered.
Turns out that sailing a ship with yourself as the captain and only member of your crew is actually a daunting, if not impossible task. The ship never made it to Port Hunding, dashed against the rocky coast. Agamir did however, and pulling himself out of the water to gasp on the sandy shores of Stros M'kai he was noticed by Captain Kaleen and the crew of The Spearhead.
The rest is history.
