((The idea of this story is to reveal what happened to Burdens' disappearance, as other characters find out more about her. Someone looking into her may find some of this information. There will be some violent graphic scenes later but I will flag the posts as they are posted.

This one was revealed when Burdens was with a group of warriors in front of the tavern. As they talked about how duels can turn personal and ugly, Burdens ran away from the conversation.))

Part 1
Burdens-Many-Blows grunted as she tied up the last strap on her armor. It was somewhat difficult to reach around her back, but she was used to putting her old guard armor on. It was basically a daily routine before she took on her challenges of the day. Though, today was the day she would travel, packing extra food for the journey. She was leaving Backlight for Skyrim, since she had her fill of knocking young Redoran members on their ass. It took a few days, but she reached a wall when trying to challenge the older members.

Suddenly a young Dunmer poked her head into Burdens’ inn room before entering. The argonian nodded recognizing her as she entered; it was a young healer that went by Irvrisa, and she was kind enough to tend to the argonian’s wounds when the fighting was tough. “Seeing me off Irvrisa? Surprised you’re up this early.” She said as she moved her pack onto her back. The Dunmer looked a little relieved, though she had concern in her eyes. “Oh good you’re leaving. I came to warn you that the young Redoran members were talking last night about you.” The argonian smirked at that, “I’m not surprised. The last one I fought a few days ago had to be dragged away.”

Irvrisa scoffed at that remark, “I’m being serious Burdens! I heard they want to teach the lizard a lesson and other nasty things!” Burdens shrugged at that. “They can’t do much to me; don’t they have rules about that?” The healer shook her head. “The houses have connections you dull lizard! The young recruits might hire someone to come after you!” She sighed. “Well don’t say I didn’t warn you…you’re lucky I like you Burdens.” The argonian stared at the Dunmer for some time before approaching her. She took a small sack of coins and placed them in her hand. “Thanks for everything. I’ll be in some inn in Skyrim before the end of the day. The Nords are always itching for a fight.” She gave a smile before leaving the room and exiting out into the early morning air of Blacklight.

((This one is revealed due to losing several duels in town. After the training session with the fighters guild, Burdens was overcome with emotion due to the frustration of losing to others. She ran off before her emotions overwhelmed her.
Two more things, flagging as graphic violence from here on out, and the next story bit will be harder to come by. Mostly catching up from recent events.))

Part 2 (NSFW Violence)
Burdens moved at a brisk pace through Blacklight, heeding the dunmer’s warning. Luckily, the streets were rather empty in the early hours, though she did get an occasional dirty look from some of the guards. Perhaps she was a bit assertive in fighting every young Redoran vying for honor, but it wasn’t her fault that their young members couldn’t beat a lizard. Once she reached the outskirts, she relaxed a little, though looking behind her to make sure she wasn’t followed.

Hours went by as the argonian traveled east; she still was slightly paranoid as she occasionally looked behind her. But, only the occasional traveler and cart rolled by on the roads. She relaxed more and more as the fungus and wetlands gave away to pine and mountains. She was probably bordering Skyrim close to the early afternoon. After going through a mountain pass, she came to a dense, pine forest with only the sounds of nature around her.

Burdens’ trance was broken once she heard the rustle of rocks and snapping of twigs. She drew her weapons as her eyes darted toward the sound. Many more noises accompanied that as figures darted through the forest. She let out a grumble as she saw the nimble bandits surround her, some perched in the pines while the others emerged from behind rocks and shrubs. From a quick glance there are at least a dozen of them; seeming to represent various races of Tamriel.

Burdens grumbled at the situation, though she relaxed a little bit as she pointed to one of them with her weapon. “A bit overkill for one person eh? Well fine you win…I only have 50 gold. I’ll give it to you; I won’t tell anyone about you and call it a day!”
“My client wants your tail lizard!” A dunmer shouted as he stepped forward staring at Burdens.
Burdens scowled at him as she spoke. “So the Redoran twits couldn’t settle the matter themselves huh? Figures…you didn’t look like the normal bandits. I’ll give you a chance to walk away before things get ugly.”
She stared down the dunmer for some time before he gave a smirk. Burdens grew angry before shouting at all of them. “Ok! Your honor will rot with your corpses!”

The dunmer jumped back as he waved a hand. A few arrows flew out of the trees, as Burdens was already charging the first bandit; dodging most of the arrows, but one dug into her side between the plates. Before the first bandit could react, blood flew as the mace struck hard across his face, stretching and snapping the bones in his neck. The second one charged Burdens, but the argonian raised her shield just in time to block the bandit’s strike. A quick swing left the second bandit dazed, but two solid hits cracked the bandit’s skull. Another three or four arrows flew out of the pines, striking the argonian’s shield, but one of them pierced her calf. She winced in pain as blood trickled from the wound.

Burdens got down to one knee, struggling to stand up due to the wound. But she continued to fight as she blocked a third bandit’s sword. She swung her mace to strike at the bandit’s belly, and moved to follow-up with an overhead swing. It was unexpected as the bandit took it right in the jaw, falling over unconscious. Burdens suddenly felt a sharp pain across her back as another bandit sliced her back open with a sword. She cried out in pain as blood began to drip down to the ground. She tried to swing at the bandit, but another bandit grabbed her arm before she could follow through, sending a dagger through her forearm. She cried out once more as she dropped her mace to the ground.

The two bandits each held the argonian’s arms as the dunmer leader approached. She was rather faint from the pain and blood loss, though she stared angrily at the leader, “Guess this is how it ends.” The dunmer smirked at that remark, “It’s only beginning lizard.” He suddenly threw a rather powerful punch, connecting with the argonian’s jaw and knocking her out cold.

((This one was revealed due to Afer talking to Burdens and eventually finding out more information about her life.))
Part 3 (NSFW: Violence and Torture)

“Wake up lizard!” the dunmer shouted. A slosh of cold water doused Burdens, arousing her from her slumber. She grumbled as she awoke, though she started to panic once she remembered what happened. She tried to move, but her wrists were strapped against the wall. The argonian took a moment to look around, not knowing where she was. It was somewhat dark as rock covered the walls, perhaps a cave of some type? She looked behind her to see a few cages behind her, a few tools laying on the table, and of course the dunmer that woke her.

“I was wondering if my boys were too rough with you. But, your name is well-earned.” He smirked as he grabbed a knife from the table.
“Hah! If you didn’t surround me I would have killed you all!” Burdens said with a smirk. Suddenly, she felt a knife strike across her back as she winced in pain. She started to feel a small amount of blood trickle down her back.

“Honestly, I would rather kill you Burdens, you’ve killed two of my men and the third is still unconscious. But, I think I like this better...besides our client wants to see you suffer and eventually broken.” He moved in close and began digging the knife into her back. The argonian hissed in pain as she felt scales fly off her back and on to the floor. The dunmer was rather slow and methodical, prolonging the pain. Time seemed to slow as he was doing his work, but he did eventually stop.

“Ugh…bastard…I’m really not worth it you know…hah…dunmer worried about some argonian.” She hissed again as she felt the knife slice across her back once more, then a second time. Burdens felt the blood trickle down her back and to the floor.

The dunmer chuckled as he lifted his boot and placed it square on her back. He pushed hard against Burdens, pinning her against a wall. “They’re paying…that’s all that matters. You know that more than most right?” He took his foot off of her as he wandered toward the table, grabbing a bag. “I wonder how long until you break…a few months? Maybe a year or so?” He smirked as he reached into the bag and pulled out a handful of salt. “If you do break, I think a Telvanni would like a strong test subject.” He reached out to Burdens and began to rub the salt into her back, growling and hissing in pain as he applied it.

“I have plenty of time lizard…no one is looking for you. I think I’m going to enjoy my plaything.”

((This one was revealed after some time in Cournmont and Shattered Grove. More know of her injuries and a select few know vague details of the cause. One of the townsfolk was told about a shadowy figure in Burdens' past.))
Part 4 (NSFW: Minor Violence and Minor Torture)

How long was she down here? Was it a year? Maybe more? Burdens-Many-Blows laid nearly broken in the cage where so many before her were shipped off. However, she was difficult for her captors as they tortured her body almost on a daily basis. Chemicals one day, just a plain knife the next. It was easy to give her a potion to heal, only to torture once more the next day. Eventually, the potions no longer worked, leaving her back permanently scarred and injured. She viciously devoured the scarce food given, but she was weak. It would only be a few days until she was completely broken.

She was alarmed as she saw the guard collapse to the floor, bleeding out from an arrow wound to his neck. She looked on in bewilderment, but suddenly a jingle could be heard from above before a key dropped down to the cage floor. Burdens looked up to only find a figure fade into the shadows. She didn't waste time as she grabbed the key and let herself out. The warrior struggled to stand as she limped out of the cage. She was in no condition to fight, but she had to try to escape. She dragged her body against the cave wall as she shuffled along ramps and cave openings, an occasional mercenary body or two laid out motionless before her. She didn't question what was happening, only that this was her only shot at getting out. Burdens squinted as she saw light at the end of the cave, she shut her eyes as she emerged from the cave, slowly opening to find that a camp was at the entrance of her prison.

She quickly looked around as she slowly stumbled along to get as far away as possible from her captors, she was at the edge of camp before shouting was heard behind her. She moved as quickly as her body could bear through the forest. One turned into many shouts as they were right behind her. Burdens emerged from the forest to pause at a cliff, with a rushing river below. The warrior didn't have time to think of her options as arrows struck her shoulder and leg. She tumbled off the cliff and down into the cold river below. She could breathe in the rushing water, but all her strength left her. She fell unconscious, letting the currents decide her fate.
