Character Name: Ratimo Jo’Limo
Race: Khajiit
Age: 93
Sex: Male
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Affliction: Vampirism (not something openly talked about)
Physical Description
"This one is of short stature among Khajiit… but in younger years learned to become nice in martial combat or else become a victim! A part of the past this one gladly leaves behind. Ratimo may have put on some pounds during the years of arcane study but can assure it had nothing to do with the moon sugar. Truly it did not. This one bears some scars from a great war that took quite a physical toll in many ways, often resulting in this one remaining quite withdrawn… to not be a risk to others, you see? Silver hair, though not due to age… black skin underneath, but not visible unless parted… or if this one has too much ale and belly is exposed… but this is story for another time."
Personality
Ratimo is quite withdrawn, ironic since he spends much of his time traveling Tamriel specifically with the intentions of interacting in the mages and thieves guilds of each city. Ratimo’s primary concern is to follow what is right… not based on the “rules” or “laws” interpretation of what is right and wrong, but rather by allowing his heart to guide his decisions. After all, this is how he stumbled upon his calling to the arcane, since it clearly had nothing to do with his upbringing.
Ratimo tends to be short tempered around foolishness, but otherwise quite laid back. Particularly on the sugar. A good example of triggers in any state of mind would be, but not exclusive to; racism towards Khajiit, Nords irresponsible use of the term “milk drinker”, accusations of skooma abuse (you don’t know Ratimo), unprovoked rudeness and general cruelty towards innocence. “If you kick a chicken to flee from sight, best be prepared cuz’ we gon’ fight!”
Ratimo spends a lot of time in the thieves guilds, not for collecting bounties or things of that nature, but because he never forgot where he came from traveling the desert with various groups… Anyone who may show indications of wanting to find another way may just need that slight nudge to get going. Also, it’s this company that he personally prefers over the requirements and superficial facades often displayed outside of these environments.

Why is your character in Dominion territory? How did they get here?
Ratimo originates from dominion territory in the deserts of Elsweyr (nothing fancy here) having grown up as a traveling nomad of sorts.
Background
At an early age Ratimo started down the path most young Khajiit boys do… learning to hustle, steal, cheat and rob. For fun… Ratimo would sing and write music, which is likely the foundation for making him who he is today. Through music, was art and passion… passion that opened a divider between the basic savage survival skills and understanding and feeling for others. This made it difficult to rob, cheat and steal… not to mention move further down that road to assassin. There was a time Ratimo needed to make those decisions… and to convince himself to pursue a job… he needed to know the person he would kill was truly a bad person. After some time and some wisdom… he started to ask himself how he can truly feel he has the authority or divine knowledge to even qualify as someone who could make those decisions. This was when he knew he needed to go far away and recreate himself after a long, secluded meditation period. Walled off from the world, so to speak.
During this period of seclusion, Ratimo learned of his own arcane affinity, but had no clue how to harness it or even what it truly meant. This is when he needed to seek out the mages guild and begin learning in a structured manner… as this ability is not common among Khajiit. You could even say NOW that Ratimo is at a slight handicap compared to others with similar experience…
Shortly after his schooling process, Ratimo found himself fighting for the people in the pursuit of true justice inspired by his love for goodness in life. After all, if you’re able bodied… why not fight for what you believe in? It was his purpose. That purpose met a dark twist rather sudden and unexpectantly. Ratimo had been accustomed to fighting in favor of the people against tyrants or clearing beasts from farmlands… but never had he been exposed to the supernatural. While the details are unclear… Ratimo only knows he was deeply scarred and near death when his friend Verandis had apparently counseled him that the only way he could survive such injuries would be to turn. A clear minded Ratimo would have likely opted to just pass naturally… but apparently in shock and out of sorts… chose to turn. This marked a very serious turn of events for Ratimo in terms of how he lived his life…
To truncate the story, Ratimo does not speak of what has happened and only feeds on those proven to truly be bad people OR volunteers. The problem is… when you’re an anti-social recluse (as Ratimo would love to be more of)… not many know of your true nature. Also, having to wait for someone to prove themselves to be awful can be time consuming and often leave Ratimo very ill… but with the sudden surge of events taking place in Tamriel… this hasn’t been as much of an issue… which is an inspiration to keep following in pursuit of what is right and good.
All things happen for a reason… and it is why Ratimo is where he is today. The only missing piece of the puzzle is trying to learn more about a brother he knows he has… but has never actually met.
