A thick sheet of parchment lies on the floor of the clinic, near Varr. One corner of it has been torn off, softened by some liquid, which has damaged the rest of the sheet and made the ink runny in some places, but what is still readable is written in long sweeping strokes with a quill and ink, the handwriting clearly that of one quite well educated.
An ink splotch obscures the name of the letter's recipient.
It has been some time since you left, and I understand that you have your reasons, but those of us you left behind still worry. We send you our best wishes with your travels, but at the same time I have been asked to request your return home.
This may seem like we are trying to keep you trapped here, but that isn't the case. I merely wish toavoid prevent what happened in the past from happening again. It affected us all, even me, more than you seem to realise.
However, unlike the others, I do understand that you don't want to spend your entire life stuck on this island. This is a message from me to you, not from the rest of us here. I know how you feel, because I feel the same way. I don't mind it too much here, but it isn't the place I want to spend the rest of my existence, especially if I hang around as long as Grandmother has. I want to get out there, see the world, like you did. I'm already making plans to come and meet you. If you'll let me follow you around I think the others might be happier too, knowing that you're less likely to walk blindly into danger.
For now though, I've sent you a companion along with this letter. We thought that you might appreciate a friendly face. Just be careful, you might recall it has a tendency to cause a nuisance if it gets the opportunity.
The next paragraph is obscured by running ink, and the bottom of the page is completely torn off.
