Alena Rallul |
Single and ready to mingle if you can pull her out of her own world | Bisexual
Spoiler
Spoiler
Physical Description: Alena takes pride in how she looks, but doesn't dress overly feminine. She prefers loose tunics and blouses and pants to dresses, and despite leaving Morrowind, her dunmer sensibilities are inflected on her fashion. She has shoulder length curly hair with a darker chestnut hue. Her skin is light-to-midtone grey with warm purple undertone. Her eyes are bright, cool red. She is a bit short for a dunmer; along with a being of a slender cut with some curves; not an intimidating appearance by a long shot.
Alena is quick witted and sarcastic, and seems reckless and carefree at first. There is a deeper side to her, besides the sarcastic quips and outlandish stories or pranks. She is careful in crafting a prank and will constantly over think and over-do it, thinking about the consequences after the action. Alena cares deeply for those around her and once she forms a bond she is loyal to the bitter end. She enjoys discussing and practicing magic and grows restless easily when her mind is not occupied, turning to some rather destructive releases. She can be brash and rush into situations when upset, but when she has time to think ahead, she's a half decent strategist. Alena isn't afraid to make bold moves and take action where needed.
Likes: Cats, a quiet library on a rainy day, red wine, horticulture (thought it's a budding interest!), writing, honeyed Rum and anything cooked with honey, warmer climates, magical debates and experimentation, and taking risks
Dislikes: Olives, fish, mudcrabs, deep water, sour flavors, pompous attitudes, not being respected, seeing others being disrespected, too many Dunmer
Strengths: Well read, Resolute, quick-witted, loyal, creative, wild card
Weaknesses: Stubborn, self-sacrificial, jumpy/nervous, easily blinded by rage, wild card
Skills: Destruction and illusion magic(some, but not as much, alteration magic), Handy with a spear, Can speak Dunmeri, Altmeri and Common, Knowledgeable on magical topics(specifically daedra and oblivion) as well as various lore and traditions of Altmer and especially Dunmer culture
Family Information:
Alena comes from the Rallul family, a lesser Dunmer house from Deshaan with contacts and a small foothold in Vvardenfell. The Rallul family is a small merchant family, it's reputation having grown thanks to the work of Alandris and Tandris Rallul; Alena's parents. They are highly business oriented and every action taken is calculated and for the better of the family name, not always the family member. They deal mostly in selling basic necessities and supplies.
Alandris is a woman who's ambition is hard to match. Ever since a child she has wanted out of being a farmer and to be a wealthy aristocrat in Dunmeri society, which she has largely achieved. Tandris is a man who seemed fit to drift through his life, living off his family's wealth, but when roped in with Alandris, he grew the family business to new heights. Alandris is a cold woman, encouraging her children's growth, but only in the directions she wanted them to go. Together, after much work, the two of them grew the family business and raised five children. In order of age, it goes Tanis, Lulandra, Alena, Mareeni, and Phereeni Rallul.
Tanis is set to become the head of the family when his parents pass, being the oldest. He is engrossed in the business and leaves little time for other things, including his own two young children and wife. He often takes up gambling with his father. Both of them have shit luck. Tanis never got along with Alena, she often played pranks on him only for him to retaliate with crueler pranks or tattling.
Lulandra, the second eldest, is an elegant and strong woman; the beauty of the family. She always dreamed of marriage at a young age, playing house and avidly learning the skills needed to be the perfect house wife. Once she was of age she quickly found herself swarmed by suitors, she eventually married an equally handsome Hlaalu man. Alena got along best with her older sister, but she was often chastised by her for her unladylike behavior.
Mareeni is the baby girl and the twin of Phareeni, of the family who everyone doted on. Ever her head in the clouds, the girl is naive and trusting to a fault. Against her parents at first, she pressed to join the Tribunal, eventually finding her way to learn the ways of priesthood in a small, ramshackle temple near Telvanni lands.
Phareeni is quiet and brash, often feeling overlooked, he too had a rebellious streak like his older sister Alena. He quickly learned to channel this and became a soldier.
Family Relations and Childhood:
It was always a tough time for Alena when it came to fitting in with her family. She never wanted to pursue the family business but was constantly pushed that way. Everything her parents made her do, even as a child, was for the good of the family first. Alena took many classes on skills that would make her a suitable wife. Some she excelled at and others failed spectacularly, but even those she had some skill at failed to keep her interest.
Alena would often sneak off and explore, ditching classes or sneaking out of her room, so she could play outside in the mud and make as much of a mess as she wanted, doing what all kids really want to do; have fun. She always felt happiest outside the walls of her home, doing as she pleased and getting into trouble.
Interest in Magic:
When Alena was a child her parents took the family on a trip into town, visiting Balmora for the day. Here Alena slipped off and explored the town alone, eventually meeting a mage and asking for help back to her family. The young mer was awestruck by his magical prowess, even if he was a novice in reality. Then on, decided she wanted to learn the art of spellwork. The mage gave her a basic book on magic before helping her find her way back to her family. Alandris and Tandris, her parents, were absolutely fuming she had wandered off, so Alena hid her interest and new book from them for as long as she could.
Her parents had no express opposition to magic, they just felt it was not useful to Alena's path. She was to wed a man and help run the business. Because of this Alena often turned to magic as an outlet for her feelings and to get back at her family. Eventually she would be given the opportunity to study magic in a classroom setting. Unfortunately due to her rebellious tendencies Alena fell into the wrong crowd. She was accused of the heinous act of necromancy, and although she was innocent, she failed to report what she'd seen and was barred form learning; forced to return home.
Leaving Morrowind and Beyond:
When Alena returned home, having been kicked out of school, her parents were beyond angry. The marriage prospects for her were grim, and Alena had no interest in the family business at this point. Her father, ever the gambler, sought to make a deal with another business man and fellow card player. This man was seedy and untrustworthy, but powerful and rich; along with being owed a debt from the Ralluls. Alena, fearing for her safety and freedom, ran the night before her wedding, taking all she could carry. She ran to Skyrim, where she spent a year until she met a strange, elderly Altmer mage who took her under his wing and taught her magic. For a time there was peace. She spent a whole eight years there until the death of her tutor. With his death she set out for Auridon, to see his homeland and deliver the news to his family who her tutor had scorned long ago.
