Volar Chamael's Treasure Hunters
OOC lead: HermesMk1/AroundTheWorld | IC lead: Volar Chamael
Citizens of the Shattered Grove! After great thought and consideration, I'm taking this venture of mine to the next step. In order to further my research, I need more help gathering relics and researching their power so they can be utilized properly or safely contained. There's no discrimination in who joins, and hunts can even be a one-and-done sort of deal. Guards, thieves (though if you are an offender, please leave me in the dark about that.) However, the more dedicated of hunters will be rewarded with the opportunity to work with the relics, or perhaps even more. Dedication is not required, but handsomely appreciated.
Sincerely,
Volar Chamael
Sincerely,
Volar Chamael
What do we do?
The treasure hunters of the shattered grove go out once a week, preferably on Saturday evenings when possible, to ruins selected by Dwemer Researcher, Volar Chamael. The ruins will not always be Dwemer in design, nor will the artifacts always be of Dwemer design. It is very possible for your character to get seriously injured during these hunts, but there will be NO killing of player characters unless the player wishes it so. Participating in these hunts will also give your character a nice bit of IC cash to spend.
BASIC RANKS
Relic Gatherer: This rank is reserved for those who don't see themselves seeing much participation beyond getting a bit of spending money. During this time, you are considered a guest, and are to follow the commands of your higher-ups. Failure to listen to orders will result in temporary blacklisting from treasure hunting activities hosted by Volar.
Rising Hunter: Through thick and thin, you've stuck through and proved your resolve. That or you haven't died yet and we can actually get around to learning your name. Being a rising hunter allows you to take spots left by people who RSVP'd and didn't attend. First come first serve.
Valuable Asset: With your dedication, sticking through the worst of situations, your prestige skill with treasure hunting gets you an automatic spot on the weekly roster. This applies for ever rank after this. In addition, you'll be compensated for any injuries suffered during the hunt. Your word trumps that of all lower than you. You've come this far and lived, hopefully you can guide others to lead a long career of treasure hunting as well. After this, you may choose to go into one of two fields. Researching or furthering your career in hunting.
Initiate Researcher: InitiateResearchers will not only aid in the identification of artifacts, but be aided by Volar in learning Dwemeris to further aid your skills in the field of Dwemer Artifacts and their history. You will be given the proper study materials to progress your rank. During this time, you won't be allowed to go out hunting, as your growing knowledge is an investment that needs to be protected, but you will be working directly with the retrieved artifacts, learning whether or not they're useful, or unsafe and need to be contained.
Rising Researcher: No longer muddled down by the beginning process of learning, you still have a lot to go, alas at your own pace. You will have projects assigned to you by either Volar himself, or his main assistant. Otherwise, you are free to request to aid a Field Researcher in their endeavors. It is encouraged to grab objects from the field that interest you should you go along with a Field Researcher.
Field Researcher: With both the seed of knowledge of the Deep Elves, knowing of their mistakes and triumphs so we don't repeat their folly, and your previous experience in treasure hunting, you're well off enough in the art to go into the hunt yet again! You're encouraged to bring a Rising Researcher along with you, to show them the newer things they're to be looking out for. If the Right Hand is not present, you are in charge of deciding how to handle the hunt's relic. You're free to make requests to begin looking into your own projects, should you see the desire to.

RESEARCHER ROLES
Initiate Researcher: InitiateResearchers will not only aid in the identification of artifacts, but be aided by Volar in learning Dwemeris to further aid your skills in the field of Dwemer Artifacts and their history. HUNTER ROLES
Tunnel Rat: As demeaning as this role sounds, it's quite the opposite. You've got the smarts and know-how in order to stay not only alive, but come out on top of your excursions. Now with Volar investing a bit more heavily into you, you'll be given your own set of enchanted armor and equipment in order to ensure your safety.
Treasure Hunter: Even though every ruin you step into is new and alien, you still feel like you know the place like a second home. You get an upgraded set of armor and equipment, and a pay raise. You still aren't calling the shots, but you'll be allowed on tougher hunts that require a bit more expertise.
Honorary Dwemer: With how often you're underground and how attuned you are to the traps and dangerous that come along with treasure hunting, you're the head of the pack should things go wrong. One last tier of upgraded armor is awarded, along with the ability to command lower forces should there be nobody else in command.

SPECIAL ROLES
Right Hand of the Researcher: This rank is one of the few that can be held by one person at any time. As the Right Hand, it's your task to oversee the investigations of relics once they're brought back into a safe environment. Your word is law for Researchers, as you know best in this situation. However, do not shut your ears out to other perspectives. The Hunters are to listen to your commands when it comes to handling relics, for everyone's safety, but are not allowed to command further.
Grand Researcher: Being both the founder of the faction, and the one who makes sure everyone gets paid, the Grand Researcher is to be listened to by everyone. His job is to not only identify sites of interest, but make sure to gather enough knowledge on the area to send in a retrieval team safely, on top of making sure everything in the faction runs smoothly. This is the second of the two roles that are only held by one person at any given time.
Falmer: Much like the turned Snow Elves hidden away within the Dwemer Ruins in Skyrim, you've come to live and breathe a life of danger within dangerous places. You'll be allowed to wear your own set of armor, and it will be enchanted for you. You have full command over all hunters, and while escorting researchers, you can order them to do what's necessary within their limit, but must yield when it comes time to handle the target artifact.

HOW COMBAT WORKS!
In order to keep the DM of the session from being completely overwhelmed, the current treasure hunting team is to make their combat posts in alphabetical order. You don't need to worry about figuring that out, as the group display in the upper right hand corner automatically does that for you. You type your post, THEN roll a 1d100 in the bot_commands channel. 1-5 is a crit success, 95-100 is a crit fail.
After everyone has posted, the DM of the session will make a post with how everyone's actions played out.
After everyone has posted, the DM of the session will make a post with how everyone's actions played out.
FAILURE TO RESPECT AND OBEY THE CHAIN OF COMMAND WILL RESULT IN CONSEQUENCES!
