Two Siblings Meet.
Kai-Salah sighed as he wandered back into Shattered Grove, looking down at the ground. He wasn't normally nervous, shadowscales never get nervous. However, he promised Thorn to meet with his egg-sister today. His mind raced with thoughts of what to say to her. It had been years since he talked to Kai-La, not since she left the village. He found it hilarious she adapted Burdens-Many-Blows, but it horrified him when she was captured. It took him a few months to track her since she disappeared, but he managed to rescue her. From that moment, he didn't want to leave her side, even if she didn't know it. For a few years, he kept an eye from the shadows. It might have irked his associates in Black Marsh, but he hoped sending back reports from time to time would smooth the relationship over. But, years alone is hard to bear, even for a shadowscale.
As Salah's mind wandered, he was unaware of eyes watching him. Burdens was perched in the tree, waiting for his egg-brother. In an instant, she jumped down and swung for Salah's cheek. He was unprepared as he fell over from the punch and gave a hiss of pain, followed by a look of surprise to see Burdens standing over him. <"Glad to see you too sister."> He spoke in Jel. She moved to kick him in the side as the male hissed in pain. <"Ow! Watch it! It's tender!> She grumbled at him as she spoke in Jel. <"I wish you didn't act like a fucking creeper brother...how long have you been here?">
<"Not long sister..."> He said as he slowly got up holding his side.
<"Don't bullshit me. I know lying is your job, but I know when you are doing it."> Burdens sighed as she spoke again. <"Was it since Courmount?">
<"Longer..."> He said as the shadowscale looked away. Burdens' mood changed suddenly as she looked a little sad.
<"You dropped the key didn't you..."> She said with a shaky voice. Salah looked on with sadness in his eyes.
<"I'm sorry sister...I wanted to approach you sooner. Just...you know what I do, I didn't want to cause trouble.">
She suddenly wrapped her arms around Salah tightly and started to sob. Her voice was shaky as she spoke.
<"I don't care brother. Fucking idiot. I- thank you."> She had as tears running down her face. He couldn't help but cry himself.
<"Can't...breathe..."> He meekly said. Burdens suddenly let go as Salah breathed heavily to catch his breath. She gave a slight chuckle as she wiped away her tears.
<"You plan on staying brother? You're not in trouble with them from stalking me right?">
<"No...I send reports back to them. They said they might call me back to the marsh from time to time, but they are content so far. I think they understand the circumstances.">
<"What do you go by brother?">
<"Lifts-Many-Crates">
<"I see...you causing trouble?">
<"A little..."> He smirked slightly, but Burdens rolled her eyes.
<"Right...I probably should get you a job so you don't look like a shady idiot in town. You still do alchemy?">
<"I do, I've been reading up on local plants.">
<"Well...give me a little time and I'll see about getting you set up in the tavern.> Burdens patted Salah on the shoulders before before she spoke.
<"It's good to see you brother, just stay in one of my tents if you need to. But, I should attend to other business.> She started to move to walk away but she gave a sigh and paused before speaking.
<"Brother...try not to break any laws in town. I...don't want to have to make difficult decisions because you decided to be an idiot in town.>
<I'll try sister.> He said as he watched her walked away toward the tavern. He gave a long sigh before he spoke to himself, rubbing his cheek.
<"Fucking brute as always sister...">
