OOC Admin - @Vulano
IC Leader - Belle Clepta

Hidden beneath the front of a lowly Tavern and Inn in Greenwater Cove lies an organization buried in the promise of discretion to all but those that know of its true intention. The Dock stands in secrecy as an association of thieves and smugglers, bound to create riches both for their clients, and for the overall profit of Shattered Grove. Created from the original pursuit of leisure by a retired footpad, the Dock now stands as one of the only illegitimate means of profit for Shattered Grove; consequently, only a select few know of its political presence in town.

The Dock is meant to act as a shelter, working area, and contracting area for thieves, smugglers, burglars, and footpads alike. Accepting a variety of contracts, the Dock is an organization of miscellaneous choice in which a thief may find solace in variety, so long as they pay their monthly rent.

Dock Inn/Tavern Rules and Regulations

Payments[/u] - Please pay all due rent (200 Drake's/Monthly) to Belle at the beginning of the month. This will be every first meeting at the beginning of the month.

Living Quarters[/u] - All dockworkers will stay in their racially assigned living quarters. If a dockworkers wishes to stay in another race's quarters, they must receive approval from all other individuals in that racial block, as well as any future native individuals of that block. There will be a twenty Drake fee, monthly, for staying in another's Block.

Shipping[/u] - All dock packages collected from regularly scheduled work will be delivered to the Shipping Station, on the second floor. Any overtime work may be presented to the resident pawnbroker on the first floor, in order to receive potential compensation.

Conduct[/u] - No stealing merchandise. No fighting in the workplace. Violence and theft will be dealt with swiftly in this workplace. Under no circumstance will you associate with a resident inside of the workplace, under their non-workplace identification/name. Residents sometimes engage in more frivolous or adulterous pursuits while in the basement; their privacy must be respected.

IC Recruiting - One flier is posted in Shattered Grove, which advertises a shipping company in Skywatch, posing a riddle. The riddle will reveal the location and general area of the Dock, in Greenwater Cove. Alternatively, one may be directly confronted by Belle for a recruitment offer.

OOC Recruiting - The Dock is designed to be a faction for those who enjoy miscellaneous burglary that actually provides in-game coin and a variety of options when choosing contracts. Although one's character does not exactly have to be a thief to join, it is highly, highly recommended that they have some sort of skill or desire to become a thief. To join the faction, simply contact me (@Vulano) in game for details.

Ranks are designed within the Dock in order to maintain a fluid chain of command and give residents the opportunity of taking a position of leadership within the organization. In order to be promoted, a resident must excel in work performance and meet a set of standards within their situational performance. OOCly, this translation is simple: Meet the prerequisites and be active during Union events, and your character will be looking at promotions. Notice: Although your character may meet the prerequisites, promotion is at the decision of the Dock Chairwoman. While promotions in lower ranks (Ex. Resident > Associate) are practically guaranteed, a promotion to a more duty-entailed rank such as Director will be at the consent of myself, OOCly.

Why is there a Prerequisite System? If you are an older member and have noticed, I have cut most of this from the old faction I wrote back during the Vulkwasten/BSR Era, the Velyn Union. With the arrival of a new criminal faction, I wanted to take a different approach, and this seemed like a good opportunity. The prerequisites act as a bit of a progress checker, to see how far your character is from a promotion. I have always been paranoid about the idea of tossing out promotions willy-nilly. In order to limit that, and give everyone the equal opportunity to progress through the Union ranks, I've decided to fall back to this system. All of these prerequisites will be earned in-game; when a thief completes a contract, he or she will be paid a certain amount for the job. When reported to the Chairperson, (@Vulano), your total will be tallied on the roster. When these prerequisites have been met, your character will be available for promotion at the consent of the Chairperson.

Are there any exceptions to the Prerequisite System? Not at the moment. In the Velyn Union, I assigned two people to act as Directors right from the get-go, but Belle is significantly more hesitant to do this with the Dock, since she is the sole proprietor.

Resident- As an entry-level larcenist, a Resident is more so a footpad that simply pays their dues and takes up the occasional odd-job. Attendance to bi-weekly heists and accepting a few contracts will quickly turn a member's rank.

Promotion Prerequisites - In order to be promoted, a Deft must meet the following:

A Resident must also complete a mandatory training course.

Associate - After expressing exemplary performance in work ability, a Resident will be promoted to an Associate, where they may expect more contracting opportunities, as well as a higher payout. The Associate is a low-tier larcenist that is capable of directing Residents; despite this, their order may be overruled by a Director.

Promotion Prerequisites - In order to be promoted, an Associate must meet the following:

Director - An Associate is only promoted to the rank of a Director if they successfully gain the trust of the Chairman/Chairwoman, usually through the completion of several high-priority tasks. Furthermore, the Associate must express an evident skill in leadership ability and task management.

Promotion Prerequisites - In order to be promoted, a Director must meet the following:

Executive - The Executive will act as the right-hand to the Chairman/woman within the Dock; there may only be one Executive within the faction. This resident has completed all prerequisites and has shown stellar performance in a variety of skills, including job performance, time management, and leadership.
There are no prerequisites. An Executive is elected directly by the Chairman/woman.

Chairman/woman - The Chairman or Chairwoman acts as the overall head of the Dock, overseeing all operations with a watchful eye and providing assistance to any resident within the company that may require it. The Chairman/woman also manages the distribution of gold payout and promotions within the Dock.
There are no prerequisites. A chairman/woman is the leader of the faction, and may only be elected during a change of leadership.
