The Crows Keep is a group of treasure hunters, adventurers, and history enthusiasts who meet regularly to follow rumors of relics and treasure, delve into ancient ruins, and solve any problems relating to relics and the past. Members are allowed to keep anything they find of interest but are asked not to steal from the interred or from any altars or offerings. The line between treasure hunters and pillagers is thin and we try and keep some semblance of honor.
OOC: The group will meet weekly to either delve into ruins, do field work, scout out areas of interest, or research relics. The main goal IC is to have adventures and maaaaybe learn a bit along the way. Jobs will be mostly internal and pay will be in what people collect. Though they may be asked by patrons to retrieve certain relics or books and general pieces of the past.
We share a building with the Shatter Hawks, thought they meet on a different day. Do be mindful of the fact it’s a shared building! To join show up and ship out with the group and show your mettle.
Rules:
- Your life has more value than the treasure. When we go into dangerous situations, do NOT sacrifice yourself for the treasure. If you need to leave it behind to live. Do so.
- Abide by town law and Dominion law when possible. Things can be gray in some situations. Just keep the killing and actively thieving from the living to a minimum. And NO desecration of any altars. Aedra and Daedra alike. Unless it’s necessary to save a life.
- No grave robbing. If you see an offering or a nice ring on a corpse, please do not take it. Or at least don’t let Alena see it being taken.
- No unauthorized destruction We often adventure into old and decrepit ruins; with this runs the risk of brittle architecture and items. Small things I do not worry about being destroyed unless it becomes habitual to ruin. But if I see someone leaping to a conclusion to destroy something large or of potential value. OR RISK. There will be consequences. This rule ALSO includes no unneeded destruction magic. We do NOT need our entire group attacked with ice spikes because of one persons actions.
Ranks:
There aren’t many ranks and it’s fairly self explanatory. But you must prove yourself before being fully allowed in!
Fledgling – An initiate to the group. You are new and still growing your feathers. Prove yourself capable in a fight and a quick thinker and you’ll be a full member in no time!
Runtling – This rank is a punishment for those who made false moves or broke a rule. You are to follow what your other crows do and make up for your foolish actions to be promoted back to regular crow. Do not worry; the flock still cares for you. Perhaps.
Crow – By now you’ve demonstrated yourself to be an apt treasure hunter and are a full member of Crows Keep. Must have gone on two adventures to attain this rank.
Feathered Crow – A bit higher on the pecking order; the crow mother trusts you to make minor to medium risk decision for the group! Other than this, it’s virtually the same as crow.
Crow Mother – The leader of the group! You are to follow their orders and when there is payment they give it out. If you want to stay alive and get paid, listen to them.

Specialization:
These are to distinguish what role suits you best. We don’t want a scrawny mage leading the pack in an unwieldy set of heavy armor and a two handed battle axe. Those skilled in more than one specialization should still pick what suits them best. These are not hard set and can be fluid and changing.
Healer – Your skills are better for the backline and helping patch anyone hurt by whatever the group encounters.
Mage – Your skill help take out and keep any threats at bay along with aid in investigations with your magic touch. For combat thought, you’re best fighting in the backline unless you are a battlemage.
Tough – You can take a hit and give it right back. Your great for helping keep us safe in whatever depths we might descend. Or ascend! Stick to the front and keep us safe.
Sneak – You’re best at being agile and unseen. You can take enemies by surprise and acrobat your way around any traps. Your help will be needed in scouting ahead. But don’t throw yourself into danger.
Explorer – Your a well rounded adventurer but your skill comes to show in solving puzzles and keeping yourself calm and collected on outings.

Combat:
OOC: Combat for Crow’s Keep will always be freeform. What this means is there will be no need to roll for success. It is up to the DM if your attack lands and up to the player, as this allows combat to move more naturally and quicker. You are still welcome to roll for yourself on severity of hit if you are attacked, but the DM will not roll.
Though that doesn’t mean combat or events won’t have rolls, but most things that will involving rolling a D20 will be luck based.
