Curious things these journals are, I've not written in one since I was but a child in Skingrad, questioning my choice in joining the Imperial Legion.. but I digress, those times matter little to me, anymore. It has been quite some time now, or.. a fairly short time, since I've stepped foot within the Shattered Grove. I watch as the townsfolk go about their day to day, assist those who require it, and among those days, I return to my abode in the wilds of Valenwood, and contemplate many things. There are very few who know of my dark secret, and there are dark secrets I know of some within the town, and I cannot help but question.. is the lure and temptation of immortality truly worth it? I've roamed Tamriel for nintey years, I've seen many a life be snuffed out, be it due to age or by combat, and I've seen life be brought into this world. For what purpose drives mortals to do what they do, I wonder. I must admit, I've grown fond of some within this little town, though I shall never say aloud, and shall I continue to keep a safe distance, less I cast suspicion upon myself. Even in my writings, I ramble on and on about nothing in particular. Perhaps it brings me comfort to have my incoherent thoughts written down on paper, knowing that this journal of mine will not give me odd stares for my scattered thoughts. Perhaps I should visit the Shattered Grove once more soon, it's been quite some time since I've visited last. As for now, the hunger that comes with my affliction begins to creep up on me, and I know of some who have set up a campsite nearby, completely unaware of what has been keeping watch on them as the light of the sun's rays creeps down, and the light of the moon blankets the world in its inviting rays. As I watch the moon rise, and allow the hunger to consume me for this very night, I bring myself back to this question: Is the lure of immortality truly worth it? Watching those around you die, and letting time pass you by, feeding on the very life force that flows through the veins of mortals?
Yes. Yes it is.
Yes. Yes it is.
