Character Name: Faromir Willowthorn
Race: Bosmer
Age: 47
Sex: Male
Affliction: None
Marital Status: Single
Sexual Orientation: Straight

Physical Description: Faromir is a lightly tanned elf with a petite figure. He has flowing chestnut hair that almost reaches his shoulders and piercing green eyes. Dashing as they are, they don't distract from the sizable scar that runs the length of his face. Since the day he received the scar, Faromir has cared little for the way the public perceives him. As such, he puts little effort into his appearance-- even for formal events. Complementing his look are two stubs for horns. His old friends would frequently tease him for this as well as his small stature, claiming that “the gods didn't have time to finish molding him”.

Personality: Cynical and wry, Faromir doesn't concern himself with trying to seek validation from others. He values merit over outward personality and voices his opinion on the matter frequently. Despite this, Faromir is quick to judge others for their own dispositions. And those who spend any amount of time around him soon discover how fickle he is. Faromir changes cliques and loyalties on a whim. Most despise this about him, but he explains it off as just being "A vigilant soul in a world of uncertainty". He may be an introvert, but he is by no means a misanthrope. On the contrary; the elf is keenly aware of the effects his words have on others and possesses adept social skills. He simply refuses to allow most people to crack through the stony exterior he projects. Though the public is left wondering whether it's his nature... or just distrust in the masses.

Likes: Quiet, solitude, reading, wine, nature

Dislikes: Crowded or loud spaces, parties, boisterous personalities, diffidence, elusiveness, disloyalty, obtusity, vagrants and criminals, small talk, and orcs.

Strengths: Faromir excels at hunting, tree-climbing, and subjugating wild animals; his cynicism melts when he is beyond the dull stone walls of a "civilized" settlement. Beyond that, he is a diligent worker. Faromir is also a natural orator, though he loathes the idea of actually speaking.

Weaknesses: Empathizing with others is Faromir's biggest weakness. The wood elf finds great difficulty rationalizing the actions of those around him, instead choosing to find some way to scold them for inconveniencing him. At heart, the mer is a coward. He would sooner turn tail and run than pick up a sword and fight an unarmed man. Not that he would have much of a chance in combat anyways...

Background:
Faromir Willothorn hails from a small town in eastern Valenwood, knowing little other than a simple life of hunting and gathering. He spent his youth training to become a fletcher, and saw his dream come to fruition once he was of age. The vast forests of the place his people call home are what melded the mer. He found solace in spending his days under the expansive canopies. So, when the threat of the Three Banners War was realized upon a Covenant attack on his village, it was a great disappointment to Faromir, who understood that it was in his family’s best interests to find shelter elsewhere. The town was divided. Many found it disheartening that Faromir would choose to leave behind his life in Valenwood. But he had already made up his mind; he would gather what little belongings he had and set out for a safer home in Auridon. A fresh start couldn’t hurt, could it? Oh, how naive Faromir was.
