(side effects of dancing with the serpent often range from unchecked bezerker rage, bed sickness, temporary blindness, vomiting, weakness of fatigue)

Background:
Odin, was once a proud father, a successful Iron worker selling his wares as a traveling sells merchant, his family often traveled with him on his travels often enjoying the nomad life styles. There travels took them to Deshaan, where unknown to Odin the The Llodos plague had been spreading. His wife being a tender heart saw those who suffered and chose to stay behind to aid within one of the cities plagued, and in turn she was afflicted with the plague and soon passed. When word spread that the plague was mortal man made. Odin, began to track the plague maker sadly his justice would be slated, as he happened on the hideaway of the plague maker he was savagly attacked. Odin killed many of those he fought but their numbers were to great, and after a bloody fight and losing his left eye Odin was captured.
He and a few other "lucky" prisoners were sent tword dominion terrtory to be sold as slaves. Odin being massive in size was bought rather quickly. His new master a khajiit named Ro'shara. The khajiit was a Skooma farmer and Moon sugar addict, who often enjoyed pitting slave vs slave in matches that often ended with the death or dismemberment of one of her prize fighters. After fighting a few of her best slaves and winning.. Ro'shara became impressed with Odin. She forced him to fight for her as her champion, often netting herself large coin purses. But Ro'shara, had many who took exception to her wins and one moonlit night Ro'shara's hideaway was attacked. In a fit of panic she ran to her fighters den and offered freedom to who ever killed those who came for her. Odin saw this as his chance at redemption and agreed to kill Ro'shara's enemies and after a bloody confrontation, it was Odin who stood tall claiming victory. Sadly Ro'shara could not offer her blessing on his freedom as she had been killed by an unseen assassin, none the less freedom was Odins, and so began his new life.

Why has Odin Stone Vein in Aldmeri Dominion's lands
After earning his freedom, He simply chose to stay and become a possible sell sword and earn back some of his lost honor. After all he had nothing to return to.. and he hated the cold.

Hi Lazarus.

Firstly, I'm going to be blunt in pointing out that this is not at all punctuated correctly. Two consecutive periods (..) don't mean anything in regular grammar, and an ellipsis (...) is usually used to represent information being left out, such as using part of a larger work as a referenced quote. Additionally, while you have properly capitalized names, all sentences start with capital letters. While I do understand that you perhaps aren't a native English speaker/writer being able to use punctuation and the like is critical for roleplay, and this style of writing may lead to unintended miscommunication. I've referenced back to your application, where you displayed better writing, so I know you're capable of it.

Secondly, I would like to point out the naming discrepancies in this Character Sheet. You list Odin's last name as "Stonefist", "Stonevein", and "Stone Vein". This is pretty simple as it is the current name of your character in game.

Thirdly, I have to address this additional "Unusual Abilities" category. While you have provided a counterbalance to this, the ability to see the future, even its mere possibility, is an incredibly powerful trait and can easily be a GodMod.

I can say for certain that fixing these issues will be a huge step towards having your CS approved.

I would like to address the seeing the future god mode ideal: Seeing the future is an impossible real ability it is often one's own mind guiding them on the path, it is the subconscious trying to point out everything from worries through thoughts of pride and possible achievement.

I see Odin's sight the same as someone that believes they speak to invisible gods.

Someone who does not believe in the gods would simply think them mad for muttering to themselves and speaking of invisible guides that lead them on their path.

This would not dissuade Odin from believing what he sees is real, it is seeing the future, HIS future as what he "sees" may shape his choice in the path he chooses. Now with that said it does not mean that what he saw would have actually happened. That is why this is not a god mode.. and more of an "unusual skill" for making harder choices that Odin does posses.

In regards to the "future sight" revisions, it seems far more reasonable that Odin merely believe that what he is seeing is the future, whereas in reality it is merely a substance-fueled high. Odin can certainly believe what he believes, and we don't wish to limit you in that aspect, but even so any sort of foresight of this nature is borderline against guild rules due to the possibility of being overpowered if not done properly. In addition, I would like a more in-depth explanation of the phrase "dancing with the serpent".

Overall, this character sheet looks far better than before, and it is nearly ready for approval. I will be getting a second opinion on the revised foresight ability because of its borderline nature, however, but you don't need to worry about anything else at this time.

To fully understand the concept of dancing with the serpent one must understand that those who believe in this shaman type magic believe their fate has already been laid out in a giant astral web, every choice they make is predestined to lead them to the same center of the web of fate. The reason they seek "sight" is so they can please which ever of the Gods set them on the path they walk.

Dancing with the serpent requires a form of self sacrifice so to speak. The one who asks for sight, offers their body up as a vessle, their soul's shackles are loosened by means of injecting ones self with different venoms and eating or mixing in different hallucinogens such as mushrooms into their drink. The side effects of ingesting large amounts of these toxins has a long list possible outcomes but when one seeks knowlege they understand the risks and believe the gods will protect them in their quest for a clear path.

It must be stated that this practice could be seen by an outsider as rubbish, dismissed as fanatical rederick. It by no means is a way to be an all powerful god moder, I see it as a creative way to add possible supernatural(ish) role play to my story. The cost of doing such a ritual would weight far to heavy on anyone's body for it to be done often.. or even sometimes, this ritual would be something that could only be done once in a blue moon especially with one of the side effects being possible death.

If I may suggest, this sounds much like something a Hermaeus Mora worshiper may take part in. In case you don't know, the Elder Scrolls pantheon consists of several Aedra, divine beings of good, and several Daedra, god-like entities who rule over various realms of Oblivion and who are usually seen as creatures of evil. Hermaeus Mora is the daedric prince of memory and knowledge, and his sphere of influence is "the scrying of the tides of Fate, of the past and future as read in the stars and heavens."

This being said, Odin could not be a champion of Hermaeus Mora, or any of the ES pantheon, as these individuals are specially selected and often granted special artifacts and/or abilities. What you might consider is for Odin to be a Hermaeus Mora worshiper, but he has never actually interacted with the daedric prince.

As it stands, the best middle ground between actually seeing the future and not breaking guild rules is to simply make Odin believe that he has seen things of significance while in reality he experienced little more than a bad trip not unlike real life peyote. That would keep the integrity of Odin's worship practices while not giving him unreasonable benefits.

Sounds good to me. To be honest this was not going to be and is still not going to be any sort of major plot for Odin.

No worries, I just thought I might offer that information.

I'm going to give you the go-ahead on this and approve this CS under the understanding that Odin's future vision is nothing more than the equivalent to a bad drug trip.

Please take a look at our banking rules as well as our guild factions page, since discussing these with an officer is required.
