Physical Description

Darius' symmetrical face was a fierce but charming one with a defined, slightly pointed chin and a sturdy jaw line that was adorned with scruffy facial hair that was kept very neat and trimmed short. His light blue eyes were conflagrant and spaced evenly apart, sitting below sharp eyebrows that seemed as an extension of his angular facial features.
He kept his mouth cocked in a thin, tilted line, and his hair—naturally dark in color but dyed atramentous—was straight and worn down about shoulder length and cut a bit uneven to asymmetrically compliment his face.
The armor he wore over his slender but muscular body was dyed dark black and had neatly polished silver for buckles and buttons, and the hat he often wore which held a ravens feather in it, on his head was placed so that the brim perfectly cast a shadow over his alluring eyes.
He walked with a noticeable limp which often had a slight 'clank' of metal sound to it from his elegant twin scabbards swinging against his thighs, his face held forward in a confident gaze, and had an air of authority though not by notoriety.

Personality

Moderate preference of Introversion over Extraversion (41%)
Marginal or no preference of Intuition over Sensing (3%)
Distinct preference of Thinking over Feeling (75%)
Moderate preference of Perceiving over Judging (25%)

Always being observant and perceptive, even when intoxicated he manages to keep his wits about him. Sleep with one eye open and a sharp blade near by type of guy.
Spontaneous in that he never really does something the same way twice.
Avoids routine and never eats leftovers.
If he gets asked a question he gives the answer you want to hear, if he asks a question he asked the one with the answer you want to give.
Picks his fights but prepares for one just in case.
Don't let his relaxed look fool you, that hand would drop what its doing to retrieve its familiar dagger and return, as quick as well oiled Dwemer-machine, before the drink he abandoned for his blade hits the floor.
Uses that speed as a defense more than an offense, he would flee a battle he doesn’t need to win.
Charming in that he can be a smooth talker and doesn't look half bad.
Trigger happy but never without just cause, or whatever definition he deems that being at the time. Usually doesn't regret decisions except that one that hits him every morning, made the night before. Gives credit where its due, if you best him, he admits defeat and sees it as an opportunity to improve.
A bit shy, though confident around people he thinks might be smarter than him.
Has an excellent vocabulary but lacked the attention span as a child to learn to spell unfamiliar words.
He speaks with a heavy accent that sounds a mix of proper Imperial with that of a washed up pirate.
If you become his friend you're respected and he would take an arrow for you, but cross him and it will become the very purpose of his existence to seek out an equal to or greater than revenge.

Background I (age: 1-16)

"If you're honest to yourself, about yourself. You'll learn to be yourself."
-Edwyn Thistleroot

Spoiler
Darius never could stay out of trouble...

Since the day he could walk he was doing it everywhere he should not. Edwyn, his adoptive father, had his hands full raising the young thief, which as fate would have it is exactly what he was trained to be. Edwyn knew very early in Darius' life that with his quick reflexes and sharp wit, under his direction the boy could be groomed into quite the asset.
Darius certainly gave poor 'Eddy' as he referred to him, a run for his money!
From his earliest memory Darius has recalled frequently, though sporadically, hearing a distant sound of voices like music which often lead him blindly on a pursuit to discover its source.
The meaning or message was unknown to him, and coincidentally, the result of attempting to discover it lead him to life changing moments, people or places that altered his fate. Part of him always believed, or hoped, it was his deceased mother, Aeliana Ravencroft attempting to reach him from the void.
Aeliana was a witch of Nocturnal and spent the majority of her time in studious research and harmonious prayer and rituals with other witches.
He never met his mother and was told she died giving birth to him.
It wasn't until he was a late teen he learned of his blood father, the disabled, retired war
veteran Quintilius Civello.
To this day Civello still claims it false.
After forcing himself onto Darius' mother he had hired an assassin to have her killed when learning she had given birth to a child as to eliminate the possibility of it tarnishing his title to have a child with a common wench. The hired assassin was none-other-than Edwyn Thistleroot that carried out the request. After realizing what he had done, Edwyn discovered the infant child laying in a small wooden box in the corner of the room.
The infants big blue eyes innocently gazed up at him, feeling guilty for what he had done he took the child back to the Thieves Guild where he would end up, with the help of the other thieves, raising the future master thief Darius.
It wasn't until the day Edwyn died of old age that he confessed to Darius what had happened that night he met him and took him in.
That moment changed Darius' life forever.

Background II (age: 16-26)

"You couldn't live by your own words, you think dying by them justifies what you did?!"
-Darius Ravencroft

Spoiler
Darius took his mothers surname Ravencroft after learning of her demise. In time and with the aid of rum and various drugs he was able to let go of a lot of the hatred he had for Eddy, but the thought of plunging a dagger deep into his murderous chest paired with the effects of the potent narcotics he became addicted resulted in a mental disorder that often rendered him antisocial and having general hatred towards blades for hire and the employers too cowardly to do the deed themselves.
After getting the same claim by the thieves that knew Edwyn that they were never told the truth by his mothers assassin, Darius could not stay amongst the guild any longer. Part of him couldn't accept that no one knew anything, and part of him knew he would never be 'himself' around them and that's was the single most reason causing his distrust towards thieves.
He left the Gold Coast entirely and set sail for Daggerfall quickly finding work with some local pirates native to Highrock, it was there he met his partner and fellow pirate Jae Gildergreen with whom he would spend the next decade working with.
The two of them retired from pirating to start their own group of likeminded thieves.
Over the next few years the Barony of Outlaws Refuge was formed and Darius found himself in the position as the primary leader. It consisted of 40 or more members including a few he still calls friends. Kolquitt Landover a master crafter who supplied the Barony with all their armor and weapons, Bog-grog the knowledgeable Orc who was well versed in the Daedric language and the craft of potion making and Terrezzi who was a skilled warrior and taught in the ways of magicka. Each sharing a disgust for governmental infrastructure and how the system favored the wealthy and titled with little regard for the poor, less fortunate folks of the diverse city. Many members justified their thievery by suggesting they were vigilantes supplying a means of goods and service to the underground community from which they thrived. Darius however always struggled with an alternative motivation tying him to his dark past to lie, steal and cheat his way to wealth and success at a personal level.
Midway through the Barony's lifespan Darius had met his current partner in crime Ferawynn whom he simply refereed to as Red. In many ways she was his equal and he had a tremendous amount of respect for her.
It wasn't long after the group, due to a combination of factors consisting around the success getting the Barony members to a sustainable status, and a desire to pursue bigger and better things, Darius announced his desire to step down as the leader. The members respected his decision and he left them in good standing.
After the Barony disbanded Darius approached the two of them set sail for the Rift where they had learned there was a rather large group of thieves operating out of Riften.
Eager to get to work Darius and Ferawynn took no time making a name for themselves in Riften.

Background III (age: 26-current 30)

"fate the thread from which I sew, the cloth made whole conceding.
the stitch woven deep in shadow, its truth can be misleading"
-Unknown

Spoiler
The voices that haunted Darius dreams at night persisted only becoming more frequent. Each morning he woke he would scribble down what he could remember of them. The words he gathered made no sense to him, but it was sung often in his head as he sifted through each letter desperate to decode its message. Like music or a distant song, this unknown source was like a faint light guiding Darius.
Soon after crossing the borders into the Rift, Darius and Ferawynn settled in Riften finding odd ball jobs and staying wherever they could find a room. As the weeks passed, their knowledge and understanding of the city grew, along with it, the relationship and connections with the Thieves Guild which was small, but growing within Riften. After being granted permission by the Guild, Darius purchased a Manor just north of the city which he, along with his partner Ferawynn, would open their own tavern for business catering to a more specific crowd than the neighboring Withered Tree. The Thieves Guild would collect their dues from the establishment, though with the persistent presence of thieves and the like in the city, the duo had little trouble paying the bills and the guild with enough left to take something home. Thus the Shadow-mark Tavern made its mark on the city attracting the rough crowds from the shadows who sought perhaps a little more than the comfort of a drink and a warm fire. Though the staff was slim, more by choice than by lack of applications, the people who came usually left satisfied, at least according to the regulars that frequent the establishment.
With the success of the Shadow-mark Tavern and the growing connections he was making through his clients, Darius had become comfortable in the lifestyle of an entrepreneur and go-to-guy for hard to come by prodects and services in the city.
Eager to expand his business and grow his profits, Darius often traveled the realm seeking more exotic drink and drug to satisfy any needs that walked through his door, which has currently brought him to Vulkswaten after hearing of its popular tavern stocked with made-in-house spirits.
Darius had friends now, he had more wealth than any previous time in his life, but he still carried with him his dark past and the weight of struggling with the real reasoning behind his life choices.
Was he a thief because it was his destiny, or was it because it was his blood?

I hate to post this in such a rough format, please comment on how I can tidy this up!
I just didn't want to exceed my time limit on posting.
Thanks!

Heya, I'm Talia, roster officer.

It's not a bad-looking character sheet, but there are a few headings missing from our requirements such as Darius's affliction or lack thereof and how he came to be in Vulkwasten. Our template is available at this link. Please note that all sections in red are required. You can add in extra information like you already have, however.

Got it, so by removing the affliction heading I was assuming it meant he had none, but I can state that just to be clear. The bit about his travels for imports to his Tavern was suppose to be my explanation for coming to Vulkwasten, though I can be more specific. Isn't there actually a brewery there?
Thanks!

Yes, there's a brewery in Vulkwasten, both OOCly and ICly. Our IC tavern staff brew a local rotmeth.

We simply require those red-labeled headings to be included for ease of reading; Our roster staff only consists of two people and Kashya is currently doing Army stuff. The "Why is your character in AD territory" thing can be a brief explanation of what brought them to Vulkwasten. Most everyone goes into further detail in their character background.

After further review there are only two things I'd like to point out.

Firstly, we do still require that you summarize why Darius has come to Vulkwasten under the "Why is your character in Dominion territory? How did they get here?" heading. This can be done easily by copying the relevant lines from the last section of his background and rephrasing them a little. Having this section makes it easy for the officers in other departments to become familiar with why he's come here, as well as act as an easy-to-find reminder for those who have read his history.

Secondly, though this isn't inherently an issue, I do want to make you aware that the Thieves Guild does not take assassination contracts. Such contracts are, professionally, given to the Dark Brotherhood or (if in Ebonheart Pact territory) to the Morag Tong. "Private mercenaries", however, are also an option. It would still be entirely possible for Edwyn "Eddy" Thistleroot to have taken such a contract, but doing so would mean he would be betraying the Thieves Guild's business stance and, depending on the local group, morals. I just want you to be aware of that dynamic.

Everything else looks good, I just can't approve the sheet until all the required headings are included.

Okay, great! Thanks. I can make that change, I was under the impression that the Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood had closer ties than that based off my knowledge from playing the Skyrim Elders Scrolls game. It seemed like the two guild leaders were like best friends. It's just a backstory I came up with when converting this character from a table-top game I played him in a while back. If what you suggest is accurate, I'll update his background to reflect that. Forgive me for how long it's taking me, I have been quite busy with IRL circumstances as of late, and just haven't had the free time to really buckle down and finish this. Allow me a few days to alter it and I'll get it done.
Thanks!

Yes, during the events of Skyrim, Delvin, a thief with the Guild, and Astrid, leader of the last remaining Skyrim Brotherhood sanctuary, do have a strong business relationship, however that's the closest the two guilds have ever been with one another. The Thieves Guild does make a point to not take assassination contracts, and the Dark Brotherhood deals only in assassination contracts, and they leave each other to their business for the most part. Throughout history they simply coexist at best, in general.

Not to worry. If you have a character sheet in the works the timeframe can be loosened, especially in instances when we know IRL is getting in the way.

After some consideration, and being kicked from the guild even after posting that I was quite busy IRL and couldn't get to my CS... I think I'm gonna pass. You guys are a bit too hard core and I'm really just looking for good RP with friends. This is like work. Thanks anyways!

That was actually an error on my end; I failed to read the edit regarding your period of absence, and ended up unduly kicking you. If you would like to rejoin, please contact one of us; that was my fault.
