Affliction:
Vampirism
Average build for an Altmer. When fully fed she will look normal even a bit more plump and a bit more muscular for a female high elf. When starved she’ll look more like a corpse, growing skinnier and more bone-y at later vampirism stages. She tries to not let it get that far for obvious reasons. Unless shes got a need for it.
Depending on her hunger level, her hair will range from a lighter shade of Auburn to an ashen blonde as she gets hungrier. She keeps her hair long and usually well kept. Sometimes shoulder length and sometimes longer… letting it generally fall loose whenever she can. She’ll use magic to change her hair color and style and keep it the way she wants it… If only not to have to bother with it, still look good enough and focus on more important things than appearance.
She has large Dark green eyes when fed or when hiding her affliction though magic. Her normal eyes before becoming a vampire, they quickly turn red as other changes start to occur getting closer to be a starved vampire.
She has a scar on the right side of her neck that she tries to cover up as much as possible. It also causes some discomfort when its touched so shes likely to attack anyone trying to get a better look. She also has a burn scar above her left eye. She’ll cover that up with magic whenever she doesn’t forget about it, however this is an old thing stemming from having an experiment literally blow up in her face as a child.
While still pale by any standard even when well fed, her skin doesn’t fall outside any of the Altmer skin tones with a yellow tint… Maybe shes just stuck in caves and dark places for far too long. Like most vampires her skin grows paler as she goes unfed and veins may become visible under the skin. Along with the hair and eye changes making her a lot more ghostlike when starving.
Her arms, stomach and spine are covered in magical and Daedric markings, some of which were there from a young age, others she drew or had drawn on herself. They don’t have any effects at least visibly. Other than marking her to certain sects and Daedric cults and allowing her entry to places where she wouldn’t exactly be welcome without them.
Clothes are dependent on the situation, while she actually prefers things like light armor, sorcerer robes, or a dark brotherhood-type armor, she’ll wear heavier if she really needs too. Shes got a thing for nice light clothes when out and about however… enjoying darker colors as it lets her blend in the background, she’ll sometimes pick victims on what they’re wearing and if she thinks it’ll fit her. Shes got a decent amount of money of her own but… again if she doesn’t HAVE to pay for it…
Alaynia has taken up a bit of a strange accent in the way she speaks... Having moved around so much for all of her reasons shes had to try and fit in as much as possible, and its somewhat affected her speech patterns. Dropping the act and trying to be at least somewhat normal she may come off as odd or out of place so when out in a more social setting she generally will try and stick to whatever will usually work. In a more private setting she may struggle to get her point across a bit more.
She is highly educated however and has spent most of her life researching things. Albeit some of the darker things. Which eventually led her to catch that affliction that might have killed her, shes always looking to take the necessary risks, even when she was only another Altmer to further whatever shes digging into... too many are researching the happy butterfly and sunshine aspects of things, afraid to let out something evil or ending up dead... shes been digging right in things most shy away from because of ethics or persecution.
She is very assertive and tries to get to the point when she has one. She likes to be in charge of her own destiny and rarely lets chance decide her fate however. As mentioned she'll take risks but she understands the repercussions, if theres something greater FOR her to be gained she'll gladly accept it, but she'll make the rules and that may happen along the way as opposed to when whatever ground rules are being set.
Unlike most altmers, shes actually got a sense of humor. But the things shes been though, seen and done that sense of humor has grown dark and somewhat inappropriate. Shes gotten a sociopathic streak since becoming a vampire, her mind goes in dark places and theres no place for empathy if she wants to live with what she has to do... Might as well find that funny.
Shes a liar and manipulator with superficial charm when she needs to. She'll do anything it takes for her to get what she wants... from a bite to having leverage on those she'll interact with, if theres something for her she'll do anything to get her hands on it. She'll hurt others and obsess over things, doesn't take rejection well and is prone to seeking revenge. She generally wont attack people openly or immediately... dont be surprised if you find the reanimated corpse of a missing loved one waiting to eat you at home however.
If she does make a friend and she does actually like someone shes going to be mostly loyal and up front to that person. But they'll usually be aligned with her anyway, shes not going to go out of her way to make those, at least sympathetic to her cause... her real one anyway...hate her... shes bad but she likes other bad things...

She was born in firsthold. Even if her mother had moved off to Morrowwind beforehand. She was interested in the daedric cults and how the Dunmer pretty much openly worshipped Daedra, something that was blasphemous by most Altmer in summerset (outside of the Psijic order who worshipped both Aedra and Daedra) her interests passing to her daughter later on, she wasnt worshipping any of the Daedra herself, however it was just easier to study these things somewhere that information was more accessible at least when it came to some of these Daedra. Aly was conceived while her mother was outside of summerset however once pregnant her mother returned to Firsthold. Where Aly was born.
She grew up in summerset, while her mother got herself involved with the Veiled Inheritance plot, which failed and most involved were jailed or executed. The latter of which happened to her mother. She wasn’t one of the leaders but as this was somewhat carried out randomly and she had been accused of treason, they decided to kill her off. Aly was old enough to be mistrusted and likely would have been at least detained, so she decided to run off on her own.
She took up her mother’s research and took it further to studying vampirism (which eventually led her to overturn the wrong rocks and poking a bit to close for comfort for… something… leading her to become a vampire herself) while digging into the daedric cults. Her mother having been executed it was more for vengeance at this point… looking for somewhere to belong and something she can use to get that revenge.
Shes still looking. Ended up in Grahtwood looking into the rumored Telboth, Yekef, Keerilth and Bonsamu vampires. Also needing somewhere she can get lost in... A forest sounded like a good idea... Although being back in the AD made her a bit more nervous... she doesn't know if anyone is looking for her and doesn't really care to find out.
I already covered some of that above so imma try and move on to new things here. Also im probably not going to be 100% happy with this myself... stuff might change depending on stuff.
After leaving Summerset, Aly first needed to avoid getting caught up by those who had executed her mother. Being in her mid-late teens at the time, she was old enough and educated enough to run out on her own anyway. She got herself involved with the thieves guild in skywatch. They knew who she was, she wasn’t exactly the clean kind even at that point and her mother had some dealing with them as well… mostly buying things that were hard to het legally. They could keep her hidden long enough and arrange for her to get smuggled out easily as long as she could work for them for some time. So she did, it was safer there than anywhere else at the time, she didn’t know if anyone was looking for her… maybe to meet the same fate as her mother… she didn’t intend to find out.
After a few months they had arranged to get her on a ship out of Auridon and then to Daggerfall. No matter where that ship was from or why it was going there. She got told to change the way she looked, learn how people spoke to blend in… At least as much as an Altmer could blend in Daggerfall and get on. She did everything she could to fit in on the way there and quickly found herself working in one of the castles. An Altmer mage looking to help the covenant was a highly paid job even if she was still very young, not even 20 at the time, she had done nothing but study all the magic she could and that was still useful… if only looked suspicious… they didn’t care.
Within a few months, It was there that she started digging into the darker things. Cults, Sects, Diseases like Lycanthropy and Vampirism and Necromancy. Subjects that were generally taboo everywhere and with the recent troubles in the pact with Vampires in Rivenspire and Necromancers this isn’t something that would go off very well with anyone. One of the other mages had noticed… that is to say was looking for anything to oust her and remove her. but she made sure he couldn’t talk before she did leave however… Besides she needed a subject to at least get her on the right path… it didn’t exactly work out, she was still new but its not like he can talk anymore or… move… she was just curious really… this would be pinned on her directly and she knew that much. She grabbed everything she had and stormed off, moving out into some abandoned home far from anyone looking to nail any kind of crime on her.
Hiding out alone is a great way to dig into things you don’t want other to know… She kind of understood while everyone reading into it and practicing it would generally find some old tower and just… do that… and then idiots came along and messed with their things trying to kill them. But she got caught up into it and well, that’s what she turned into at least for a few more months. She was maybe 22 by the time she knew where she had to go and what she had to start looking into… her mother had the right idea, travel around tamriel and find out what these cults knew and what they had… see what all of those stories about vampires and reanimated corpses were all about… of course she already knew a bit but there theres just so much some biased book could tell her… they were bad things and people died and blah blah blah… but why did she really HAVE to care? So that’s what she set off to do… starting with the more open ones at least as far as who they accepted to at least dig into their things and she would go off from there… she had already killed at least one nosey thing… maybe the dark brotherhood wasn’t a bad place to look into…
Shouldn’t commit to these groups for too long, really just long enough to dig into what she wanted. She didn’t go out of her way to betray any of them either, as they could be useful down the line and well, it didn’t exactly sit too well with some of them that would have her killed or at least try to. She took jobs for them which kept her afloat and also got her closer to what she wanted at least on that front while she kept researching her other interests… Necromancy and Vamprism, dropping Lycanthropy by that point… she needed to focus and that really was something on it own… She had already looked into Hiricine and his so called followers… they smelled bad and they didnt have anything useful for her anyway.
She moved from province to province, digging up things that’ll let her in… some were more welcoming others weren’t so much and she had to degrade herself on more than one occasion… she didn’t talk to any of the Daedra as many of them claimed they would, she was just interested in that knowledge and if there was anything of use to her. She got involved and got herself trusted but never went off the deep end with any of them… the Mephala and Sanguine were… their own special kind of fun though…
On the Vampire front, She had read all about so called Daughters of coldharbour and Lame Bal and what been done to her and what she had supposedly turned into. The vampires in Skyrim had not been the talkative kind in her experience… and yes some of them were talkative (vampires in general) but as she wasn’t one of them they really just wanted to tear her throat out… generally… In morrowind the Telvanni had an interest in them and she even was able to discuss them openly, they only had so much information on them however… even if they were interested in having one around to probably poke at themselves that wasn’t happening… or they weren’t willing to share what they knew beyond what was openly available…
Of course moving around a lot meant she needed places to stay and being comfortable around death would usually mean she would end up hiding in some crypt which were easy to find in places like Morrowind… There were tons of them and most were close to the cities… relatively speaking… and had readily available things she could experiment on… sometimes even use to defend her or whatever hole she was hiding in… not all of them were empty though, luckily she was a good fighter… at a distance… and wasn’t bad at sneaking around herself… escaping before something got her… this one time though the thing she was most obsessed with… well there was one hiding in there… she was stupid, knocked something over and gave away her position… she was attacked… It bit her… and she felt it draining her life away… until she could just, blast it off her. She didn’t kill it, but she could feel her neck burning and all of her insides slowly joining in until she passed out…
She woke up again, sometime later feeling ill and sluggish… She was alone, whatever had attacked her was gone, she had no idea how long she had been out for or what time it was… there were a few lit candles so she could see inside. She hadn’t been moved either just… laid where she had fallen… she crawled around looking for somewhere to lay on and try to maybe fall asleep again, she really didn’t feel well and really felt like she would pass out again… and she did… slipping in and out of consciousness for what must have been the next three days… she had dreams… dreams most would consider terrible, but she was somehow drawn to them…
After what must have been three days, the door to the crypt she had stumbled upon opened, it was dark out but she awoke from the noise it made… looking up she saw a figure carrying something inside… she didn’t move herself but the figure didn’t seem to pay attention to her, it just pushed in whatever he was carrying and shut the door again. Hearing it lock from the outside… It was the last she would see of that figure however, she feels it just wanted her to know what she had turned into.
The illness seemed to have passed but she was hungry… Hungrier than she had ever been at least it seemed that way… and the smells… she realized the candles were all burnt out and yet she could see in the dark without having cast any spell at least that she could remember… she sat up… she had apparently fallen asleep on top of a stone coffin… she groaned and moved towards the door… as she was going to try and unlock it and run out she felt like something was wrong… she could see she was a lot paler and she had what looked like claws growing out of her fingers… and before she could put things together she heard a whimper from the corner of the room… to which she immediately turned to.
Not like she had a choice either, she was drawn to it, her hunger calling for whatever that was… it smelled so good… she reached out to grab it and it grabbed on her and screamed out for her to let go… For a moment she did and then it kind of all hit her. She took a step back and frowned. As much as she wanted to know what they were and what they could do it had never occurred that she could become one of them… For a second she didn’t know if she wanted to… It had its advantages and its drawbacks… some of the disadvantages weren’t exactly things she wanted to deal with…At least she was lucky enough to know what she was and what was bad for her… and starving was one of the bad things… and well before she could do anything about it… for or against… she had to feed.
And that’s what she did, she grabbed at whatever that figure had brought in here with her… she kind of figured that had been the vampire that was in here when she walked in… yet she didn’t know why it would feed her and run off… still she took what was offered to her… Breton girl, not a bad looking one either… she really wasn’t in the mood to think about anything else right now though, she pulled it up, slammed it against the wall… She whimpered and screamed, which sent a shiver down Aly’s spine almost as if she enjoyed it… she bit in the girl’s neck… her teeth pierced it easily and it was like biting into a juicy steak… the girl struggled to break free but Aly had pinned her pretty well and she was being held up, her feet kicking and thrashing violently… and then dangling as her body went limp and the screams turned into nothing but air being expelled from the girl’s lungs… Aly dropped the girl on the floor as if she was nothing. Feeling her strength come back and feeling as good as she every has… she stumbled back a bit as she wiped her mouth with the sleeve of her robes… running to the door casting a spell on the lock and running out.

Personality
