Background: Reshii was an orphan, left to the Daggerfall Mages Guild before he was a toddler. Only knowing one thing, the mages raised him and brought him up to learn magic. Although adequately talented, Reshii had a disadvantage in the form of short memory. This caused him to be a slow learner than most, having a hard time learning the most basic techniques. This wasn't, however, for lack of trying. Reshii was very determined. He started taking a journal around with him everywhere he went, writing what he learned, saw and did. He made sure his memory would not be an issue that would hold him back. He even went so far as asking for a senior guild member to enchant a feather quill to never run out of ink.
This determination paid off, as Reshii was proven as a very adept mage in his early 20s, rivaling some of his fellow mages of his age and experience. He even started remembering things, bringing up trivial knowledge in the books he usually surrounds himself with. Though his memory isn't all there still, he is certainly improving.
Later on in his life, Reshii started travelling, wanting to explore Nirn on his own and unravel the mysteries that he couldn't by just sitting in one place. This ambition, however, would prove unfortunate. While fending off a few feral people, he was careless and was afflicted with vampirism. Cursing himself for this incident, he keeps it a secret. Not only is it for fear of his life, but also the embarrassment. That would be worse for him.
