How he ended up in the Dominion

Brother Terrance is member of the church of Auri-El, though offered higher positions he has denied them due to his tendencies to travel. His travels have taken him to preach and heal in all reaches of Tamriel, whether his beliefs were outlawed or not, Brother Terrance hasn't let anything stop him from strengthening the beliefs of others in the word of Auri-El to all people and helping the innocent.

Backround

Brother Terrance was born to a starving widow who had recently lost her husband to pirates. His mother stowed him aboard a ship headed further into the isles, away from Auridon, where he was born. Of course it was not long before the poor elven baby was found aboard the ship and seeing as none of the crewman or crewomen wanted him he was given as an orphan to the local temple, where he was raised and named as a warrior of Auriel. Of course it was early found that despite his size, he would not dare raise a hand to harm his kin, and so instead he was trained as a healer and restorationist. His memories of the temple are few and far between, but perhaps that is for the best.
The Temple
Terrance was never a priest of Auriel, nor did he ever set foot in a temple of the divines. The cult that had captured him was not known to the people of the isles. They had kidnapped children from families all across the isles and further under the guise of a travelling monk group, when in reality they were of something far more sinister. They called themselves "The New Sun" temple, and they had captured an unfortunate amount of 50 children from all races across Tamriel when their experiments began. The motives were not all evil, however. Their purpose was the train a new generation of perfect soldiers to fight against the forces of darkness which encroached upon nirn, an army of flawless warriors to fight for the good of the people. Needless to say, they failed. They all started at the same time, despite their ages, but most ranged from 3-6 when it began. The regimes were intense, and the methods brutal. Younger children would drop of exhaustion like flies, and most would not get up. They started first by training the body, and those who could not become as strong or tall as the rest were dissected and given a new one, all while forced to remain conscious. The temple did not care for the weak or imperfect, and so the injured or dying were thrown like ragdolls into a pit of hungry skeevers, dead or alive. Their screams would become the music of encouragement for the remaining candidates. The surviving children were less than half of what hard started by the age of 10, and their bodies were given their own 'runes'. The 'runes' varied person to person, but worked all the same. These 'runes' in all reality were dark ritual done to body to give it protections from the work, by carving magical enchantments ordained individually by their chancellor into the flesh of the child. The bodies of multiple children were forced to endure being carved like pigs "for their own safety", and some did not ever recover from such injuries, as their mentors thought they deserved a few too many 'runes'. Common runes included resistance to poison, disease, fire, fortification of health, magicka, stamina, or a magical art. Then came the conditioning of the mind. They thought it best to give the children their worst if they were to ever endure the best, and so they called upon the only one they thought could properly condition the mind: Sheogorath. It did not take long for the mentors to become as mad as the children and transform their cult into a mindless graveyard in his name. Soon enough only 5 remained. Orion the Fickle, Craven the Coward, Tahromir the Accursed, Brutus the Beast, and Roselia, who had managed to escape before they summoned upon the power of the Mad God.
Orion the Fickle
Orion was a well-sized nord, with silvery-tongue to trick and decieve all who he encountered into following his lead, making him the ultimate leader of any force who was willing to march to their deaths or not. Though sometimes one of his followers would turn on him, stabbing him in the back, but he knew this to happen from time to time, and made an example of any individuals who dared try and betray his hide of steel. Soon enough of course, they found that he was immune to daggers in the back, and stuck one in his front, killing him instantly.
Craven the Coward
Craven was a bosmer, who found his home in larger cities, ones rife with guards and treasure. He made a strong living through killing and stealing, both from his victims and employers alike. It was not uncommon for him to 'accidentally' kill everyone who had seen his face for the few coins they had in their pockets, but sooner or later the killing finally caught up to him. When one of his victims was smart enough to lay a curse on their coin, Craven was driven by mad greed to take it regardless of the consequence, and was killed instantly.
Brutus the Beast
Brutus was the largest orc a man could ever lay eyes on. He roamed the land, having been cursed by the Mad God to find and challenge the mightiest warriors of the four corners of the world.
On his way he was similar to a one man army in the way that no single man in any village he burned could have dreamed of striking him down, and it did not take long for his path of destruction to call attention to him. Many champions faced Brutus, and none survived, not even himself. He was challenged by a wizard who summoned a shade of Brutus, and he could not deny a challenge, not even from himself. He was killed instantly by his own hand.
Tahromir the Accursed
Tahromir was perhaps the most scarred of them all, figuratively and literally. They all looked up to him, for the Mad God had became bored of his mind first. His body was covered in markings and scars, curses and protections all alike. He was challenged with the duty to champion over all who ever came out of that accursed temple, whether by killing them directly or waiting until they died of age. And so it was Tahromir who found Orion's weakness and plunged a blade into his belly, it was Tahromir who cursed the coin that killed Craven, it was Tahromir who summoned the shade to slay Brutus, and it was Tahromir who hunted and murdered the lovely Roselia.
Once he was ready for the field he was sent to a small town in the south-western part of the isles to find a few rare supplies that could only be found in the wilds there, and then immediately report back as they were needed to treat a specific illness that was running rampant. But his quest was stalled when he met someone...
Rose
It was in that very town he met his first love, Roselia. Rose was a tall Altmer, akin to his height and most likely able to hold her own in a fight. Her head was adorned with shining golden hair and gleaming brass eyes, complimented by a perfect and untouched face. She was a local bard that sang in the tavern on stormy nights to lift the locals' spirits, and her voice entranced Terrance beyond belief. She was the only one he had ever told his true name. But of course after Terrance had courted her (to the despair of both her parents) he had to leave back to temple, giving her parents a breath of relief. Though their sense of safety would not last, as the night that he left, Rose gathered whatever supplies she could muster and rode off on the road to find her lost love. Terrance had of course never seen someone do something like this for him, and vowed he would never leave her again. And so they travelled together, a beautiful couple on the road. With a husband to heal the body, and a wife to heal the mind. Sadly though, not all stories have a happy ending... on a quest to escort a merchant caravan through the Valenwood they were ambushed and the entire caravan was set ablaze, Terrance had lost Rose in the commotion and thus had to option but to flee lest he would face the fate of the rest of the dead. For he could fight monsters and daedra without issues, but people? His own kind with heart and soul like him?
He couldn't bring himself to do that...

It was only later in the week that a courier came to tell him that the guard of a nearby town needed him to divine a body in order to find it's identity. When he arrived he had expected to be greiving after knowing who they were as he always did, but he did not expect to identify the body of Roselia. Her face had been bruised and her body had been beaten, as though she was tortured to death by the bandits rather than simply having her throat slit. He did not blame the bandits, and did not seek vengeance, but instead blamed himself for his weakness. He buried her next to the town of Vulkwasten, the place where they were travelling when she died.
And after all of that business Terrance grew lonely and sad, travelling alone rather than in groups in his quests, attempting to grow more powerful than before. Though his home was always in a clinic, he began spending more time in taverns and bars, along with the rest of the lonely drunkards, which he easily made friends of. He was always pulled back to Vulkwasten in the travels, though he did not know why anymore. He blocked his old memories out and buried them with the body of his beloved. Though he hated the entire concept of poisoning your body through drink, he made a friend by the name of Xithic, who showed him Moonsugar Rum. Which Terrance was at least able to tolerate as he descended into his drunkeness. He found Xithic was a lycan not too far on, but even though it was his sworn duty to kill such monsters he decided against it for the sake of their friendship. After a long while of idle contemplation in Vulkwasten Terrance went to the roads once again, to find some semblance of who he used to be.

Heya, I'm Talia, one of the roster officers here.

This is looking like a good start, though I would like to point out that you are missing a key section, "Why is your character in Dominion territory? How did they get here?" While being an altmer offers the simple solution of being born in Dominion territory, we would like to know a little about their travels and, more specifically, how they ended up in Vulkwasten. You can find details on our Character Sheet Guide.

On the topic of birth, there are a couple of issues. Firstly: Being born with tattoos. Though I am no lore master, I personally have found no legitimate evidence of such an event occurring. Tattoos are not a simple process in the world of TESO, and it is certainly a feature predominantly, if not solely, seen on adults. The only "legitimate" explanation for such tattoos lends itself to my second point.

That second point being: Your character has been selected as a Chosen One for a deity. This is something that we can not allow as a guild, as it lends itself to lore conflicts as well as unnatural amounts of power being bestowed upon a character, as stated in our Lore and Roleplaying Rules, Heading: General Lore, Bulletin 4, "No "chosen one" or "main champion of [insert Aedra/Daedra here]" type characters." This is especially true when used to represent a relationship between the character and one of the Eight Divines (as Talos of Atmora has yet to enter the stage at the time of the events in ESO) because the Eight Divines have no direct contact with Nirn. They have, for all intents and purposes, left the world and can only offer small boons through their shrines, which is skeptical in and of itself.

I can, however, offer solutions here and now, which can be discussed further via this thread or, preferably, on Discord via a private channel.

Tattoos: Simple. Plenty of adults have tattoos for one reason or another, and while the process of attaining them isn't as simple as in our own world, plenty of people still have them. I myself have a couple of heavily-tattooed characters, though both had them done via normal means.

Worship of Auri-El, aka Auriel, aka Akatosh: This is a simple fix. While our rules deny the ability to be a Chosen One character, Brother Terrance could be a member of those who worship Auri-El. It might be unusual for the head of their worship, even at a local level, to venture into the world, but it would be entirely within the realm of possibility for most any other rank to make such a venture.

Having a higher purpose: To go along with the Chosen One material, Brother Terrance has a sacrificial nature due to his higher calling. Unlike the Chosen One material, this does not need to be altered. Your character does not need to be any sort of chosen hero to have a desire to serve a higher purpose, and in fact those are the sorts of people that heroes throughout the ages rely on most for aid. While their songs are fewer in number, if sung or written at all, they are the true heroes, so do keep that in mind.

No worries. BSR tries its best to stay true to the mess that is Elder Scrolls lore so as to leave ourselves open to as many people as possible, though it does require some character policing to make sure no one character gets out of hand. We're more than happy to work with you and help you learn lore if/when you have questions.

As for you sheet, these edits look good. I'm approving this on 1/17/2017. Please read through our Guild Bank Rules and take a look at our Guild Factions as speaking with an officer about these two things is required for promotion. Please also read through our Rules of Conduct if you haven't yet.
